This solo task begins with Athmos the Bard at the zone-in of the Grounds. The book reward ("Fallen Gods") is used in the "Book Hunt" task from the Library.
Note: You may need to have the task "Book Hunt" from the Library in order to request this one. You say, 'Hail, Athmos the Bard' Athmos the Bard says 'Ooo, you startled me! I was busy composing some new lyrics based on a [book] I read recently. Was there something you wanted?' You say, 'What book?' Athmos the Bard says 'The book? It was called [Fallen Gods]. I had recently come across it in a fantastic library inside the house and decided to take it with me. ' You say, 'Fallen Gods? I need that book!' Athmos the Bard says 'Well, I don't have the book anymore, you see. While I was wandering the gardens, I had several unfortunate encounters with the beasts therein and [dropped everything] I was carrying. I barely escaped with my life!' You say, 'You dropped everything?' Athmos the Bard says 'Yes, including the book. Say, if you were to go out into the garden and [find my belongings], I would be happy to give you the book.' You say, 'I can find your belongings...' Athmos the Bard says 'What a fortuitous encounter! I'll wait here while you go looking.' You have been assigned the task 'You Spoony Bard!'. Athmos the Bard wants you recover his various belongings from monsters in the Garden. If you are successful, he will give you the book 'Fallen Gods' as a reward. Recover Athmos' Lute from the bone golems 0/1 (The Grounds) Recover Athmos' Cape from the rotdogs 0/1 (The Grounds) Recover Athmos' Satchel from the mulch cubes 0/1 (The Grounds) Recover Athmos' Rapier from the bixies 0/1 (The Grounds) The lute is dropped by bone golems. I looted two of the items prior to the quest, tried to hand in after getting the quest and this is what happened:
Athmos the Bard says 'I have no need for this (character name), you can have it back'.
So get the quest first then loot the items.

you need to have the quest Book Hunt from the library to get this task.
You need to have, or have previously completed, Book Hunt. (meaning the quest can be repeated without getting Book Hunt again)
