This task is the second in a series of three that begins with Scholar Kintorom at the zone-in of The Library.
You must have completed his prior task, "Interview with a Scholar" before being able to get this one. You say, 'Hail, Scholar Kintorom' Scholar Kintorom says 'The book you brought me is amazing! It describes ancient events that I have never seen recorded previously. Unfortunately, the book only covers a small time period. I would theorize this book is part of a larger [set].' You say, 'A set?' Scholar Kintorom says 'There must be more of these books in the library. The binding appears to be unique so they should be easy to find. Would you be willing to venture inside once again and [locate] more books from this set?' You say, 'I'll locate them' Scholar Kintorom says 'Excellent! I eagerly await your return.' You have been assigned the task 'History of the World, Part 2'. Scholar Kintorom is fascinated by the book you brought him and theorizes it to be part of a larger set. He has asked you to enter the library any books which match the appearance of 'Volume 791'. You'll see a red emote when it becomes aggro on you. (He can spawn even if you haven't picked up any books.) The enraged historian isn't social with other mobs, so you can be in a safe corner or hall and only deal with the one mob. It hits for a max ~6,000 and drops "Volume 588". I for the life of me cannot get to page 612....could I get a little help, please?
I was having trouble finding that one as well, it's on the top floor, east side, ina small alcove on a table.

volume 655 is ontop the piles of books by task giver k'zen have to be on the bookcase to see it
park group at safe location - get quest with one member of group only
Move to safe location
wait for enranged historian to pop and run to the person who has the quest - (While he does not pass agro on to any mob Most mobs are KOS and so if the enranged historian drops your invis all mobs within agro range will attack. For this reason best to wait for him in safe location - NOT ZONE IN - as he dosent pop untill u move deep into the zone) When he is dead and loot, invis, pick up all other books and then hand them in to questgiver.

This works perfectly, no problems at all as an 86/1200 Wizard and 85/450 Mage, plus mercs.
Only thing I'd add is that the time between the emote and the mob showing up was, at least in our case, very brief. So make sure you know where you want to fight him, and can get there quickly. We had the Mage pre-positioned where we wanted to fight. I grabbed quest, he CoH'd, and the mob was there within a few seconds.

When it comes to the "an enraged historian" know also that if you get the drop from him, and turn it in to questgiver that it will again become active. The check to spawn him is apparently only blocked if the person in range does not have the page he drops. So make sure you turn in his page at the end, the ground spawns can be turned in at any point along the quest without any negative effects.

Confirmed Error on this page. I had only picked up two volumes, neither of which was 689, and was just wandering by and enraged historian aggrod me.

After you pick up "Volume 689", "an enraged historian" will spawn in the most western hall near quest npc: Tarlyn Caelith. The mob will eventually agro the person who picked up Volume 689. It does not agro any surrounding mobs, so you can be in a safe corner/hall and only deal with the one mob.
