This raid expedition begins with The Font Guardian in Brell's Temple.

This raid can be requested after you've completed both "Brell's Trials" raids: Trial of Creation and Trial Deconstruction, Fungal Forest and Lichen Creep raids.

Participation in this raid requires players to have completed the "Amulet of Brell" flag by right-clicking an Amulet of Brell from Tier 7 raid events.

NOTE: Anyone (not just the requester) wanting to zone into the instance via The Font Guardian must also have the Trials of Creation and Deconstruction complete. However, you can bypass this requirement by using a guild banner to zone in. (You'll still need an Amulet of Brell to use the banner.)

You say, 'Hail, The Font Guardian'

The Font Guardian says 'The path to the master's workshop is now open unto you. Though you have earned audience, I must warn you my master does not like interference while he is working. The way may be perilous. Should you still wish to speak to my master, prepare your force of friends and I will show you [the way].'

You say, 'Show us the way'

The Font Guardian says 'Follow closely my friends. I will [announce] your arrival when you are ready.'

The "An Audience with Brell Serilis" expedition becomes available to you.

You say, 'You can announce me now'

      LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
      You have entered Brell's Temple.

      Summary

      - Trigger the event by speaking with the avatar.

      - Kill five golem creations (spawned one by one) to trigger the spawn of the two Visages of Brell.

      - Position the Arcane Visage and Armored Visage so that they're not too close, but not too far from each other. Balance the two of them down (casters on Armored; melees on Arcane) while watching out for the mem blurs.

      - Soon after the Visages are dead, Brell Serilis attacks.

      - Follow Brell Serilis' emotes, kill the Static Fields, and get Brell to 20% to win.

      Triggering the Event

Start the event by saying "announce" to the avatar at the zone-in:

You say, 'Hail, an avatar of The Master'

an avatar of The Master says 'You have learned the lessons well. Outsiders are normally not tolerated within the master's workshop, but having conquered the challenges set before you previously, I find you worthy of audience. Beware within these walls, mortal. The master is often testing his latest creations, and you may find yourself an unintended participant in such activities. Shall I [announce] your presence to the master?'

      You say, 'Announce us'

an avatar of The Master says ''Master.. These mortals have passed your trials and earned audience. They await your attention.''

      Phase 1: The Golem Creations

Soon after triggering the event, the first of five golem creations spawns and attacks. They hit for a max ~16,500 and have a lot of hitpoints. Other than that, there's nothing significant about them. They spawn one by one at timed? intervals.

The different types of golems (which ones you get, is random):

      a fleshy creation
      a frosty creation
      a glinting creation
      a metallic creation
      a polished creation
      a stalwart creation
      an incendiary creation

They don't appear to differ in ability.

Killing the fifth golem creation progresses the event to the next phase.

Phase 2: The Visages of Brell

Soon after killing the fifth golem creation, Brell takes notice of your presence:

Brell Serilis shouts 'Wait a second! Who are you people and what are you doing here? I have no time nor interest in dealing with the likes of you mortals!'

Brell Serilis shouts 'The NERVE of you people... To think you could come HERE... and bother ME!?'

Brell Serilis shouts 'Well... You wanted an audience with Brell Serilis? Let's see if you're worthy of such a gift!'

Brell Serilis shouts, 'You cannot simply waltz in here and demand audience!'

Brell Serilis shouts, 'The gods do not suffer the whims of lesser beings!'

Brell Serilis shouts, 'Come forth mortals.. come forth and face your end!'

      About their spawns:

The Armored Visage of Brell Serilis spawns on the east side of the room. The Arcane Visage of Brell Serilis spawns on the west side.

      About their melee abilities:

They each hit for a max ~17,000. The Arcane Visage has no special melee attacks. The Armored Visage flurries and AE rampages.

      About their buffs and AEs:

The Arcane Visage buffs itself with "Shield of Underfoot" (spells don't damage him) and AEs "Furious Fulmination", "Tulmultuous Upheaval", and "Suppression Field":

Shield of Underfoot: Self 0', Magic (0)
1: Mitigate Spell Damage by 100000%, 10000000 total

Furious Fulmination: Single Target, Magic (-700)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 12500 to 22500 (random)

Tulmultuous Upheaval: PB AE 500', Unresistable (-750)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 1000 to 2000 (random)

Suppression Field: PB AE 500', Unresistable (0)
1: Decrease Spell Range by 90%
2: Limit: Spell Type (Beneficial only)

The Armored Visage buffs itself with "Bulwark of Underfoot" (melee attacks don't damage him) and AEs "Arcane Abatement":

Bulwark of Underfoot: Self 0', Magic (0)
1: Mitigate Melee Damage by 10000%, 10000000 total

Arcane Abatement: PB AE 200', Unresistable (0)
1: Decrease Spell Range by 85%
2: Limit: Spell Type (Beneficial only)

      About their mem blur:

There is a mem blur during this phase. Every 65 seconds, both Visages mem blur themselves. When this happens, you'll see this emote in red text:

Brell Serilis shouts, "Time to mix things up!"

About their position in the room:

The Visages must be kept a certain distance apart from each other. If they're too far apart or too close together, they start chain casting large AEs:

As the two visions of Brell come together, they begin to feedback and pulse with great energy.

      -OR-

As the two visions of Brell get further apart, they begin to lose touch with each other and pulse with great energy.

If this happens, they'll both chain cast "Fury of Brell Serilis":

Fury of Brell Serilis: PB AE 500', Unresistable (0)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 15000 to 25000 (random)

      About the balance:

A final note: The two Visages need to be balanced in health to their deaths.

Soon after the two of them are dead, the third phase begins.

Phase 3: You Wanted an Audience; Now You Have It

Shortly after you kill the two Visages, you see:

Brell Serilis shouts, 'I grow tired of these games. What once was an interesting challenge has now become tedious and annoying.'

Brell Serilis shouts, 'I see now I can never return to my work without facing you directly.'

Brell Serilis shouts, 'You wanted an audience with me, and now you shall have it!'

Brell Serilis attacks. He hits for a max ~22,000. He doesn't flurry or rampage. He does, however, cast the spell "Shake the Foundations":

Shake the Foundations: PB AE 300', Unresistable (0)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 2000 to 4000 (random)
      2: Stun (1.00 sec/100)

During this fight, crystalline spheres called "Static Field" will spawn on random people. These spheres don't melee, but chain cast the AE "Crackling Maelstrom" and are attackable/killable:

Crackling Maelstrom: PB AE 100', Unresistable (0)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 5350 to 8000 (random)

You'll want these Static Fields dead quickly.

Also during this fight, Brell Serilis will emote random people:

Brell Serilis says '_____, I choose YOU!' (where the blank is his target's name)

16 seconds after doing this emote, he'll cast one of three targetted AE spells on the subject of his emote:

Terros Burst: Targeted AE 30', Magic (0)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 1850 to 4250 (random) per tick
      2: Decrease Movement by 80%

Hieros Burst: Targeted AE 30', Magic (0)
1: Charm up to level 90

Chaos Burst: Targeted AE 30', Magic (0)
1: Increase Incoming Spell Damage by 300%
      2: Limit: Max Level(85)

NOTE: Player pets can be the target of this emote, so it's recommended all pets be suspended prior to this phase.

      Failure & Reset

If any event NPCs are left idle for more than about a minute, the event resets.

      Completion & Loot

As Brell Serilis reaches 20% health:

Brell Serilis says 'Enough of this! Clearly you are strong and determined to exterminate me. What I cannot fathom is why? What has brought you to my realm, to my world? Why do you fight me? Am I your [enemy] somehow?'

He stops attacking and a Trunk of Creation spawns with loot.

      You say, 'Your enemy?'

Brell Serilis says 'I had hoped to avoid this, yet I always knew his creation would be my undoing. The First was my precious, my own image, yet with all my power, I could not control the his reason nor his will to create life. Perhaps I made him too much like me; A tinkerer, a creator. No, I must face the reality of my actions, much like a father resigned to the fact that his son is not the good son he hoped for. The First is your real enemy. He is responsible for the trouble brewing in your world.'

The chest includes 2 armor pieces (first list) + 2 other items (second list) + 1 Emblem of Brell (backflag) + 2 Sparkling Precandescent Runes + 2 Brilliantly or Brightly Pulsating Crystallized Cosgrove Shards + 0-1 Crystallized Ball of Cosgrove Clay:

      Curved Blade of the Destructor
      Earthrend
      Ember-forged Waistguard
      Fragment of the Underheart
      Girdle of Living Clay
      Idol of Brell Serilis

      Masterwork Spaulders
      Mercurial Stud
      Scepter of Creation
      Shattered Clay Fragment
      The End of Suffering

      Brell's Rants

Prior to engaging him, Brell Serilis will do a lot of ranting (these have no bearing on the event's progression):

Brell Serilis shouts 'All this time, and now perfection is within my grasp.'

Brell Serilis shouts 'No, no, no. . . this will not work. I must rethink this.'

Brell Serilis shouts 'By the caves of underfoot, where did I put that hammer?'

Brell Serilis shouts 'Creation is about more than some clay and water, it is about that something extra you put into it.'

Brell Serilis shouts 'Impressive! Though I think that design needs some more refinement. Ah well... a creator's work is never truly done!'

Brell Serilis shouts 'The creation process is never-ending!'

Brell Serilis shouts 'Nope... that'll never do. Far too much vitality, and not enough strength in that one. Sometimes I think I'd be better off just brewing beer!'

Brell Serilis shouts 'Sometimes I think I'm the only one around here who actually CREATES anything. Solusek with his 'destroy mortals' nonsense, Druzzil always popping about mucking with time, and Bristlebane just sits in the corner giggling like an idiot!'

Brell Serilis shouts 'Whoops! Too much instability for sure. I really must be more careful when blending THAT into my creations. Perhaps a little extra repulsion would help the mix?'

Brell Serilis shouts 'Now what should I call this thing? Short and ugly like a gnome, yet stout as a dwarf. I know! I'll call it Absor! Oh wait... I've already used that name on something else.'

I couldn't request this raid after finishing the Trials of Creation and Deconstruction.

After I finished the Fungal Forest and Lichen Creep raids and group missions, I could request it. It seems like they are also prerequisites.

participation requires the amulet, trial of deconstruction, and trial of creation. not JUST the amulet...

if you have just the amulet, you can banner in though.

      Phase One

You'll get a few golems. 5 or 6 I think. They come one-by-one at timed intervals and have no special mechanics. Very easy, barely worth mentioning.

      Phase Two

Brell will summon two 'visages' of himself. The Arcane one is totally immune to spells. The Armored one is immune to melee. This is a balance event (didn't you miss those?) so don't let them get too far apart hp wise. Or distance wise, because bad stuff happens if they get too far away from each other. Bad stuff also happens when they get too close (specifically, a massive pbae goes off every few seconds). Also, there's 2 detrimental auras that greatly reduce the range of beneficial spells. Yes, they both do the same thing. I can only assume one was intended to be for detrimental spells. But it is what it is. You'll need to be much closer to cast things like heals, buffs, or rezzes. In case this isn't enough, they also mem blur. Brell will shout "Time to mix things up", which means both visages just blurred. The tanks will already have enough trouble keeping aggro due to immunities, so this will get a lot of people killed. It is timed, so once you get the timing down you can anticipate a switch coming and back off. They also do an AE knockback occasionally, but that's not that bad compared to the other stuff. This is a good bit harder than Phase Three, and Emperor Crush is harder than One.

      Phase Three

Brell will say he sees he can't get back to work until he deals with you directly. After a moment, Brell Serilis himself will go active. EVERYONE PILE ON TOP OF HIM. This is extremely important. He'll occasionally spawn static fields, mobs that have a large damage aura. These pop on top of random people so if everyone is piled on Brell you won't have to look far. When they pop (and they won't appear on extended target, because they don't actually attack anyone, just do AE's) everyone has to switch to them and kill them ASAP. Brell's obligatory 'follow-or-else' emote is "Yourname, I choose you" (there's nothing worse than a Pokemon reference). When you get this, run away from the raid. After the effect hits you (there's several variations) run back to the raid. When Brell gets to 20%, he'll cry uncle and you win the raid.
