This solo task begins with Orgus Shrivstem at approximate location 255, 2675, 340 in the Fungal Forest (just outside Pellucid Grotto).
You say, 'Hail, Orgus Shrivstem' Orgus Shrivstem says 'Hello. If you would not harm me, and help me gather some additional [materials], I will agree to do you a service.' You say, 'Tell me about these materials' Orgus Shrivstem says 'Yes, sadly I was expelled from my tribe, and that is a difficult situation to be in. We sporali cling to the most amenable areas of the Fungal Forest, and when I was driven away, I had little choice but to move to a less hospitable area. There is much that I need to survive. It is much drier here; I will need a sealant like cliknar brainwax to survive for long. I will also need to create a pouch from a gelatinous osmopump so that I can brew the yeast I need to season the spider palps for my dinner. I can probably catch my own [spiders] later, if I had a set of beetle jaws that would be suitable for a deadfall trap. There is much I can tell you in exchange for this [help]. In addition, if you could contact Adeenas, and tell him of my plight, I would be very grateful.' You say, 'What'll you give me for my help?' Orgus Shrivstem says 'Help me with this effort, and I will do what I can to reward you with knowledge.' You have been assigned the task 'Gathering of Essentials'. Orgus Shrivstem has left his tribe of sporali, fearing that they are acting against the will of Brell. He can be a good source of background information for the Fungal Forest, but first he will need some help gathering supplies he needs to survive. Loot some masses of rancid spider palp from spiders in the Fungal Forest. Orgus will feed on these. Get a lump of cliknar brainwax. Orgus needs this to keep his outer body from drying out. Harvest of gelatinous osmopump from the body of a goo. Orgus can fashion this into a yeast-growing sac. Bring Orgus a double-jointed beetle jaw. He needs this element to construct a small animal trap. Bring Orgus' plea for assistance to Adeenas of the Telmira. Collect 2 Rancid Spider Palps from spiders 0/2 (Fungal Forest) These can drop from all spiders in Fungal Forest. Collect 1 Lump of Cliknar Brainwax from cliknar 0/2 (Fungal Forest) These can drop from all cliknar in the zone. Collect 1 Gelatinous Osmopump from oozes 0/2 (Fungal Forest) Known to drop from: a motile moss; a vigorous moss; motile earth; motile spore slime; vigorous spore slime. Collect 1 Double Jointed Beetle Jaw from rhino beetles 0/2 (Fungal Forest) These drop from rhino beetles and large rhino beetles. All items are pre-lootable and are fairly common drops from the given mobs. Deliver 2 Rancid Spider Palps to Orgus 0/2 (Fungal Forest) Deliver 1 Lump of Cliknar Brainwax to Orgus 0/2 (Fungal Forest) Deliver 1 Gelatinous Osmopump to Orgus 0/2 (Fungal Forest) Deliver 1 Double Jointed Beetle Jaw to Orgus 0/2 (Fungal Forest) Speak with Adeenas 0/1 (Fungal Forest) Adeenas is located in the southeastern area of the zone at approximately -905, -850, 95. You have also learned more about the situation in the Fungal Forest, and what it might take to restore order here. Orgus Shrivstem says 'You are very kind to assist me. Not many would go out of their way for a talking sporali--certainly not many of the two-legged mammals. I made a promise to tell you about what has happened to the Fungal Forest. Proselytizers of the Church of Self came not long after we stopped feeling the magic presence of Brell Serilis. They convinced many among the sporali to change their ways and serve their own needs rather than those of the Underfoot. This seemed to me to be at odds with Brell's vision for a well-functioning Forest. Not long after that, Rakkirin took over as the leader of the tribe and began organizing us to destroy the others. Most wanted little to do with him, and nothing at all to do with any rebellion. I argued at first, but I was threatened with heresy and burning. The other tribes were decimated, and I saw that I must flee. Here I have been for several days, watching as the cliknar came. If chaos reigns here, all the worlds connected to this place will become infertile.'
