This solo task begins with Ardan Tinkerton in Arthicrex (location: -1685, 425, 197).
You say, 'Hail, Ardan Tinkerton' Ardan Tinkerton glances around a bit, then looks up with wide eyes. 'The [spiders], they're huge!' You say, 'Spiders?' Ardan Tinkerton says 'Oh goodness, _____, surely you've seen the size of the sandspinner egg sacs. They're dangerous! Okay, not as dangerous as the [cliknar], but dear me, the sandspinners should be halted in their tracks!' He shivers slightly. 'Spiders. . .' You say, 'The cliknar?' Ardan Tinkerton says 'You know, you just gave me a great idea! Oh, you did, you did. . . So, the cliknar have major control of the area, and with that, they keep track of the balance of who or what stands on their lands, [correct]?' You say, 'Correct' Ardan Tinkerton says 'So, what if you upset that balance? If you [kill] the spiders, the cliknar may falter under your great might! They'd be [distracted], I say! Or angry, but at least we'll be rid of the spiders, right?' You say, 'We will kill them' Ardan Tinkerton says 'That's the spirit! Go find some, kill some, come back here. I want to smell spider ichor on you when you return!' You have been assigned the task 'Irrational Fears'. The young gnome Ardan Tinkerton is afraid of spiders, and there appears to be an abundance of the larger sort in the caverns of Arthicrex. The spiders themselves are of little relevance to the every day goings-on of the cliknar, but Ardan believes that thinning them out may help shake up the cliknar leadership by disrupting the balance of the area. Find and destroy several of the sandspinners of Arthicrex. Kill 8 sandspinner juveniles 0/8 (Arthicrex) Kill 4 sandspinner stalkers 0/4 (Arthicrex) Sandspinners are found in groups of three or four in various areas in the northern part of Arthicrex.
