This shared task (1-6 players) is the third of three tasks that begin with Thorbin the Elder in the Cooling Chamber. He is located near -170, -320, -25.

You say, 'Hail, Thorbin the Elder'

Thorbin the Elder says 'Ah, you've come back! Good fortune for me. Our chemical [troubles] may not have ended, and someone may have [figured] out how to recreate those wards. I know that you've taken a lot of risks trying to help us out. Thanks for that, But the water is still not cooling properly. This time, though, I have a real solid idea about what's wrong. The [goos] have become a real problem.'

You say, 'What goos?'

Thorbin the Elder says 'The goos are very important to us. They have several purposes. The obvious one is that they dig tunnels when we need them, though that's not all that important to us since the chambers were completed. We've expanded at times, and at those time we really needed their help. But they also provide us with important chemicals for the water cooling process. When used the right way their, um, discharges can be highly effective at lowering the temperature of water. And [usually] they are quite passive.'

You say, 'Usually?'

Thorben the Elder says 'Yes. But lately they have a tendency to attack their tenders. The tenders are refusing to go near them until someone fixes their attitudes. I've explained to them that controlling the goos is their job, but they insist that fighting with the goos is not. I can't understand what's got them so riled up. You obviously have a talent for this sort of thing, can you [find out] what's going on for us?'

You say, 'I will find out.'

Thorbin the Elder says 'I am grateful. Please be careful, these goos can eat stone.'

You have been assigned the task 'Goos Gone Wild'.

Crush the aggressive goos and deliver some samples of their ooze to Thorbin for testing 0/6 (Cooling Chamber)

Level 86 goos drop the Goo Ooze ("a rock destoyed goo" confirmed). These are pre-lootable. Note that goos seem to be aggro-linked.

Your task 'Goos Gone Wild!' Has been updated.

Thorbin the Elder says 'Well this certainly smells odd. ' Thorbin stops sniffing the foul ooze and looks at you earnestly. Tainted! They are somehow digesting some sort of... of bad rocks or something! This is definitely not the substance we need. Perhaps they are attacking people because their poor stomachs are upset. Not that they have stomachs, they ARE stomachs! No wonder they are so unhappy! Speak with Thelga Muntik, she's the supervisor of the goo trainers. She can use one of her special goos to track this smell. Find whatever they are eating and get it out of here.'

Speak with Thelga Muntik, head of the goo tenders 0/1 (Cooling Chamber)

"a cool goo" spawns nearby after hailing Thelga.

Find the source of the unhealthy taint in the goo diet 0/1 (Cooling Chamber)

Hail the goo, say "hunt" and follow it to a goo cave on the opposite wing, area of -1795, -1585, -388.

Defeat the Bellikos 0/1 (Cooling Chamber)

A red-con "a bellikos infiltrator" appears. Hail it, triggering its attack. The cool goo will also aggro, but is not necessary to kill. The other goos do not assist these two.

Return to Thorbin with the news 0/1 (Cooling Chamber)

(Closing dialogue?)
