This shared task (1-6 players) is the third of three tasks that begin with Thorbin the Elder in the Cooling Chamber. He is located near -170, -320, -25.

You say, 'Hail, Thorbin the Elder'

Thorbin the Elder says 'Ah, you've come back! Good fortune for me. Our chemical [troubles] may not have ended, and someone may have [figured] out how to recreate those wards. I know that you've taken a lot of risks trying to help us out. Thanks for that, But the water is still not cooling properly. This time, though, I have a real solid idea about what's wrong. The [goos] have become a real problem.'

You say, 'What goos?'

Thorbin the Elder says 'The goos are very important to us. They have several purposes. The obvious one is that they dig tunnels when we need them, though that's not all that important to us since the chambers were completed. We've expanded at times, and at those time we really needed their help. But they also provide us with important chemicals for the water cooling process. When used the right way their, um, discharges can be highly effective at lowering the temperature of water. And [usually] they are quite passive.'

You say, 'Usually?'

Thorben the Elder says 'Yes. But lately they have a tendency to attack their tenders. The tenders are refusing to go near them until someone fixes their attitudes. I've explained to them that controlling the goos is their job, but they insist that fighting with the goos is not. I can't understand what's got them so riled up. You obviously have a talent for this sort of thing, can you [find out] what's going on for us?'

You say, 'I will find out.'

Thorbin the Elder says 'I am grateful. Please be careful, these goos can eat stone.'

You have been assigned the task 'Goos Gone Wild'.

Crush the aggressive goos and deliver some samples of their ooze to Thorbin for testing 0/6 (Cooling Chamber)

Level 86 goos drop the Goo Ooze ("a rock destoyed goo" confirmed). These are pre-lootable. Note that goos seem to be aggro-linked.

Your task 'Goos Gone Wild!' Has been updated.

Thorbin the Elder says 'Well this certainly smells odd. ' Thorbin stops sniffing the foul ooze and looks at you earnestly. Tainted! They are somehow digesting some sort of... of bad rocks or something! This is definitely not the substance we need. Perhaps they are attacking people because their poor stomachs are upset. Not that they have stomachs, they ARE stomachs! No wonder they are so unhappy! Speak with Thelga Muntik, she's the supervisor of the goo trainers. She can use one of her special goos to track this smell. Find whatever they are eating and get it out of here.'

Speak with Thelga Muntik, head of the goo tenders 0/1 (Cooling Chamber)

"a cool goo" spawns nearby after hailing Thelga.

Find the source of the unhealthy taint in the goo diet 0/1 (Cooling Chamber)

Hail the goo, say "hunt" and follow it to a goo cave on the opposite wing, area of -1795, -1585, -388.

Defeat the Bellikos 0/1 (Cooling Chamber)

A red-con "a bellikos infiltrator" appears. Say 'creature', triggering its attack. The cool goo will also aggro, but is not necessary to kill. The other goos do not assist these two.

Return to Thorbin with the news 0/1 (Cooling Chamber)

(Closing dialogue?)

I got all the way up to the step where you spawn the Bellikos and I'm supposed to hail it. She just spats out some rude comments in say but will not attack and I'm not able to attack her. Doesn't matter if I leave the room and let her despawn and respawn again. I restarted the task a second time and the same thing happened.

It failed for me the first time, the second time I had my Wiz hail, and he got the highlighted word "CREATURE"" to reply and that started the fight. If you're bugged try that word, otherwise it may be faction. I didn't check faction for the hail.

As mentionned below, hail the npc from the bottom of the stairs or the ooze will be stuck and won't move at all.

I had another problem, once the ooze reached the trigger point and spawned the Belikos, it wouldn't aggro or respond to hail or anything. I had to say "creature" to him so he would aggro, as mentioned below, it isn't really obvious.

Well, kinda buggy but in the end it worked.
Hardest Part

The hardest part is actually gathering up the goo ooze. -- It took me three days, roughly 18 hours or so, killing the dang ooze to get six. And it doesn't seem to be on a spawn timer, I got two within minutes of each other, then nothing for hours. I didn't keep count, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that I killed a thousand of the things.

Goo ooze is pre-lootable. It would greatly help your task timer to have it before you get the task.

Following the cool ooze is tricky. It did not path us through any undead, but it did dump us in a room full of ooze. We got jumped by a chain of 3 when the Bellikos popped. And the cool ooze jumped in as well - so it was a five mob fight, but we prevailed.

Also, need to be univised when hailing the cool ooze. Like a dork, I had on invis and was trying to hail it, but as soon as I took off invis, the cool ooze got right on it and tracked away. ... If it gets too far ahead of you, it'll stop and let you catch up, then you just tell it to "hunt" again, and it'll take off.

The goo gives a new location every time you get a new one. You must be at the bottom of the stairs when request 'another' one because he will get "stuck" and not 'hunt' when you prompt him to do so.

Also a Rock Consumed Goo.

It seems that if the name ends with a D before the Goo part, it will drop what is wanted.

Takes a while to get the Goo Ooze drops so being a shared task with a 6 hour timer, I wouldn't request the task until having the goo first. Took me a few hours killing hundreds of oozes and the goo drops from a "rock destroyed ooze" which are uncommon spawns. Add that they only drop the goo about 20 percent of the time.

a cool goo burbles pleasantly.

{After following the goo to the cave}

a bellikos infiltrator appears, yelling, 'Get this thing off of me!'
a bellikos infiltrator says, 'Ah! So, this is your pest. Get it away from me before I am forced to destroy it. What is this [creature] doing anyway?'
You say, Hail, a bellikos infiltrator'
You say, 'creature'
a bellikos infiltrator says, 'Since you've brought this tiny pest here. I think I'll use it to my advantage, Here's a snack, little one!'
a cool goo hisses.

task update

Thorbin the Elder says 'Well that's terrible. Those goos don't deserve to be treated that way. Hopefully there aren't any more of those rotten Bellikos in out chambers.'

The little goo that is supposed to escort you through the caves is a little buggy. You'll want to hail the NPC that spawns the goo while standing in the small stream of water that cuts through the room. Otherwise, the goo will spawn in a location in which it will not move. The goo does despawn the less you hail it - The more you hail it the longer it will remain up.
a good rule of thum for respawning a cool goo

When you re-spawn an another cool goo, you should better to stand at where the first goo was poped so that he can find a right path to cave.
If you respawn a cool goo near the NPC, they can not find a path to cave when you directed to "hunt".
And I found another cool go keep his way even if whole group get invisi while in following.

Did this task last night and there's a couple key points too it.
- Goo was extremely sporadic on drops
(3 during the first half of the day and 3 in the afternoon including others in zone helping me loot)

- You can taskadd others up to 5 during this task although its solo to get it
I got my Goos by the afternoon and turned them in, logged out for a bit, and came back and invited toons to finish the fight

- Important note about Mr. Cool Goo; he's going to go down a tunnel and it can be at the very bottom meaning bring someone
who can invis and invis vs undead for the whole group (almost lost the grp before even getting there but grp invis vs undead was up

- Move the entire group to the spot where the ooze stops because you wont clear all the others fast enough
(mine went to a semi clear corner and I left the mage a bit too far back...loading please wait)

SK worked well for this due to the quick invis vs undead and FD ability
Once you have a dead bellicos all that is left is the hail so dont worry about dead people not getting credit if they're in the guild hall

just my 2cp

This is a shared task for 1-6 people (or is it 3-6?).

One time we did this task the goo hunted right away, another it took 3 tries of waiting for the cool goo to despawn and trying to get it to "hunt" again before it finally decided to move. Try having the person who got the task, or the task leader, be the one who says "hunt" to it.

The cave that the cool goo travels to is random each time, it is not one specific location. It may end up in a cave with either goofy-aggro rock goos, or undead.

When the Bellikos spawns, you have to hail it and say 'creature' to activate it. It will attack. Sometimes the Bellikos insists that only the person who triggered the cool goo speak to her.

After spawning, the Bellikos will regularly despawn after a minute or two if not aggroed, but then quickly reappear. Not sure why it does that.

The good news is that it seems to give you enough time and chances to get the mission done without having to restart it.

Everything went well until we spawned the "a cool goo" and said "hunt" to it. There was an emote that it "burbled pleasantly" but it wouldn't budge. We tried many phrases but nothing worked. We tried a whole host of things and eventually there was an emote that it was bored! At that point it despawned!

However Thelga's text mentioned something about "another" so we said that word and another "a cool goo" spawned! But just like the first one it wouldn't hunt! Again we kept trying things like bringing the whole group in close proximity and ensuring that no one was invis, but nothing worked. This 2nd goo then eventually also got bored and poofed.

We told Thelga "another" yet again and this time that little bird dog actually hunted! He took us to the room with Bellikos and everything worked normally from that point on.

I don't know why it took 3 tries to get a working goo but I wonder if we screwed ourselves by pre-clearing the room full of goos where Bellikos spawns? Of course by the time we got back down there it was full pop again.

When I was pulling these, I always got 3, even when I split them far apart from each other and let aggro clear, once I reaggroed the KoS one, the other 2 would come running.

Also the KoS one aggroed my Pet.

I was invis, my pet was on hold. The KoS goo and his 2 friends aggro me, I think. I FD and the KoS one attacks my pet, who does nothing. This is not normal, so I thought I would mention it.
