As of a January 2015 patch, this event can be triggered solo. If you are on a progression server and the Seeds of Destruction expansion hasn't yet been opened, then you must have at least seven players in your raid in order to trigger the event.

This event begins with a trapped Wraithguard in the center of the frozen lake near the spiders/goblins area of Icefall Glacier. The raid's difficulty is on par with Tier 2 Demiplane and Theater of Blood raid encounters.

You say, 'Hail, a trapped Wraithguard'

a trapped Wraithguard says, 'Please you must help me! I was scouting for the Wraithguard when I was captured by one of the creations of the vile Shade king. For the longest time we thought we were [safe] from the shades during the bright hours of the day. But it seems those days are over.'

You say, 'Safe?'

a trapped Wraithguard says, 'Yes, until these ice golemns began emerging from the crypts the shades had no influence during the daytime. It appears though the Shade King has managed to create these golemns and imbue them with his will. This current one is the largest one I've yet seen. It appears to be holding me as bait to lure more of my brethren into a trap. You must [help] me and help prevent the death of my kin.'

You say, 'We'll help you'

If too few players are with you:

a trapped Wraithguard says 'You are too few. You would certainly perish in this snow trying to save me. Return once you have found more help and free me from this place!'

Upon starting, you see:

a trapped Wraithguard says, 'Hurry and free me before the golemn realizes what is happening!'

As you look around, some of the goblins in the immediate vicinity preparing to defend their home have fled to escape the fury of Avalanche.

Avalanche shouts, 'Haha! You are foolish to stay here and challenge me. If you do care to save your friend, it will cost you your life.



At this point, everyone in the raid will have a "Torch of the Wraithguard" appear on their cursor. They can run to the center of the goblin camps to light the fires with it. Successful lighting of a campfire will result in the following emote:

You ignite a campfire with a brilliant magical aura around it, capable of melting almost anything. You ignite the nearby campfire.

3x "Shard of Ice" spawn and rush the trapped Wraithguard. These are mezzable and have alot of HP's.

Once dead, another 3x "Shard of Ice" spawn and rush the trapped Wraithguard. (Same thing as the first wave.)

Upon their deaths, two blocks of ice spawn and rush a trapped Wraithguard. At low HP's, they will split into two shards of ice again. Upon reaching low HP's they emote the following:

shard of ice moves forward, silently moving over the ice.

They then despawn. At some point the trapped Wraithguard turns into "an enraged Wraithguard", but this doesn't seem to have any bearing on the event itself.

The following emote zone is seen:

An enormous monstrosity rises up from beneath the icy surface of the lake.

Avalanche charges the trapped Wraithguard. At about 80% health, a trapped Wraithguard will join in the fight against Avalanche.

2x "a whirling blizzard" spawn about midway through the fight and assist Avalanche.

Beat Avalanche down before a trapped Wraithguard dies. Do NOT let him die. If he dies, you get the following emote:

Avalanche shouts, 'Aha! Down to the icy depths you go, Wraithguard! Watching you place your fate in the hands of puny, helpless comrades was most certainly a wise decision.'



Adds in this event hit for a max ~3,800. Avalance hits for a max ~4,500. He also casts two spells:

Cold Feet: Directional 300', Unresistable (0)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 600 per tick

Ice Avalanche: PB AE 300', Cold (-400)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 4000

Blizzards spawned at 33 percent health or so.. they are mezable. The Blocks and Shards of Ice are not to an 80 chanter with vendor rank 1 spells.

This is a raid event that Valoran (guild from Maelin) tested during beta. If you have enough people in the raid, the NPC responds properly and a bunch of Block of Ice's spawn to kill the NPC. You have to kill the Blocks, but each one splits into a number of smaller mobs.. which each split again when killed. (I cannot give exact details as this is from beta testing, and I don't know exactly how many of each the dev decided to put into the final version.)

killed glacier, hes just a named npc, some 200hp drop like most of the other named mobs in zone

the raid requires more then 12 as we were able to form a small raid on the spot to see if that would be enough to trigger the event. We will try more later.

I also saw this trapped wraithguard , he is in the goblin encampment down the slippery ice canyon path on the East wall. Also above the goblin encampment there is a Giant ice yeti model mob by the name of Avalanche , can only assume he's a raid mob , and possibly connected to the trapped wraithguard ? i also saw on track another red mob (at 73) called Glacier , but didnt sight that one yet .

avalanch (raid triggered encounter as part of a quest in camp below spiders) and glacier, an ice golom, . avalanch is 81 and raid mob only connected with the goblin area for their trapped wraithgaurd quest! and GLACIER, 79, ( have sen him ocated from coming up the ramp behind us ion the top kiting area for spiders above goblin and icemen camp, as well as back behind the spiders in the different hills and valleys as well. I have seen and pulled from 2 different areas behind spiders, and the top of ranp from below as well..walked rite up to top on me BUT didnt agro) although it says bring a raid in allas ZONE notes, we single grouped it , finallly!!! 1 outta 4 times we tried it & BOY was it worth it!! (all 73-75)I Mhealed a full group of shammy, rogue, war, dru(me), necro and one more dps i forget atm,,,and although with constantly, i mean as often as possible healing the current MTank, we almost lost him, and by the end of the fight, was being healed back up to about 35-45% each time! and sinking a few hps a dru and shammy just couldnt overcome it ALL by the end of the fight, BUT the key was that shamman landing their slow, and assisting the druid with healing, a cleric would work, of course, adding once more to DPS ! Now he has a AE fioor 4k and some other effecdts, when it hits ya its a shaker, i actually thought i felt it in my bones when he got me once, OH HE SUMMONS, so if your group whipes he summons each in turn and smacks them for some ungodly hits, not sure but 900 seems what i member seeing as top on it all.
We had previously thats nite, tried same group on GLACIER but had second necro instead of shammy and we whipped 3 times on GLACIER, THEN shammy came in and we got erbill a new ranged! Glacier[i][/i][u][/u] awesome time Living on a razors edge..thats was the about the best fight, was most taxing and used all my extra heal hot keys and AA's, called stationary heal pet BOON rank 5 and sent in AA pet as well. OH yes we started with tank having group ds, ds potm, and i , when the shammy called HOT would cast fernspur on tank and back to CHeal rot
I used heals and the pure life rk II and 75 super heal Adrenaline Surge as well when able ...., id love to do it again! thansk sony for a tough mob with correspondingly decently statted gear...:)!
