This task begins with Ziven in the City of Dranik. He can be found the the southwestern room within the Old Bloodfields zone line fort. (location 345, -1400, 180).

    You say, 'Hail, Ziven'

    Ziven says 'Quickly, the [hatchlings]!'

    You say, 'The hatchlings?'

Ziven says 'Three of them! They were captured by raiders mere hours ago. If we don't collect them [quickly], they will meet a horrible fate!'

    You say, 'Quickly?'

Ziven says 'Killed, or worse... turned. Will you [help]?'

    You say, 'I'll help'

Ziven says 'Thank you for your offer.'

You have been assigned the task 'The Rescuers'.

Find the three captured hatchlings and give them these potions. They will be able to use them to escape.

    Receive 3x "Dragorn Invisibility Potion".

Explore the area where the captives are being held 0/1 (Old Bloodfields)

There are 3x "a captured dragon" on the west zone wall. This will update as you approach them. (loc: 30, 1410, 5)

    Any muramites will do.

Kill 1 slavemaster 0/1 (Old Bloodfields)

Surrounding the captured dragorns are 3x "an ukun guard". The a slavemaster will spawn when all three are dead. The slavemaster is level 88, hits for a max ~5,200; and single-target rampages for full damage.

Just if one wonders, what the dragorn invis potions are about ... well .. at first: ya DONT need them to solve the quest ...
I killed the master, got my shard, end - and still had that potions in my bag ....
As I wondered about them, I did a little investigation, and it seems you have to give 1 potion to each of the prisoned dragorns ... 3 dragorns, 3 potions ...
well ,.. perhaps i ll try that, if i get back to this corner of the zone .. lol

The person who damages the slavemaster first gets credit for the quest. I pulled the Slavemaster by nuking him with my cleric and my SK beat him down and my cleric got quest credit.

I had killed him 4 previous times with my SK doing first damage and my cleric didn't get credit. Could be random too but I doubt it.

BTW this is a stupid way to do the quest. Everyone in the group who gets experience for killing him should get credit. That's the way it is with other Kill Quests.

Unfortunately, it's how they made a large portion of this expansion. Massive time-wasting by forcing a group of people to repeat lots of quests for each person in the group. It's clear to me the expansion was not beta tested for playability. Things like this or quests that won't update for discovering areas unless you're levitating 30 feet off the ground...

It has nothing to do with agro or dmg.
it will randomly pick one person in the group that got the kill and has the task, and give credit to that person.

Best thing to do is have only one person at a time have the quest and all will work out fine.

First aggro or first damage are not the requirement to get the kill.
Whom need the task update has to out damage everyone else in the group, its really simple.

First Agro AND First Damage didn't work
    # Feb 14 2010 at 11:42 PM Rating: Default
I have pulled this guy 4 times now (first agro) and have attacked him while on the way back to camp (first damage) and STILL have not gotten the task to update for the slavemaster. I'm starting to believe this task to be bugged. ( I'm planning on trying again tomorrow but am not hopeful as to getting the update. I have noticed that the "guards" all have to be dead for him to spawn and if one re pops during slavemasters fight he de-spawns. Can't mess around kill the guards and imediately pull and kill the slavemaster. Have killed him 4 times and am starting to think you have to have the KILL SHOT to get update. Am tring it again tomorrow and will let you know what happens.

First to get agro doesn't work, you have to be the first to do damage.

After having killed the 10 creatures in the area step and then finding the captives I had a deliver 1 dragon invis potion as an optional task update. I was able to update that but still have 2 more potions which they won't take atm. Maybe after I kill the slavemaster or maybe it just is a way to get you to kill the ukuns.

The first time I tried this quest, I did it on both my toons at the same time, which appears to have been a mistake. One was updateed, while the other did not get the slavemaster to update despite several kills. I left the task and tried it again with the same result. I've now done the quest 3 times, but can never get the slavemaster portion to update, despite the fact that my character is the only one in the task. Any ideas?

Oh, BTW, the slavemaster will pop whenever you kill the third ukun guard. I can say this with some confidence as I have done it more times than anly ought to.

I believe the only way you can get the slavemaster to update is if the person who needs the task update achieves first aggro on the mob. I.E. sucks to be a caster class!

Not sure if it's a bug or if this is their way of forcing groups to kill the slavemaster lots and lots.

The captured dragorns are near the named Ukun Klygg, on a hillside. They will have some ukun guards near them. I didn't see any Slavemaster so I just started killing the Ukun guards. Seems they may be a ph for the Slavemaster, as he eventually popped in the same area as the guards. The guards seem to re-pop alot faster than the other mobs in the zone (excepting, perhaps, the kyvs down near Taath)

The Slavemaster was a Nok model IIRC. He hit about as hard as the other Named in the zone. In other words, quite a bit tougher than the static mobs in the zone. Turns out, handing a potion to the captives is optional and not needed to complete the task.
