This solo task begins with Telivar S`vik in Korafax. To spawn him, go to the room marked on this map. Kill all four mobs. Loot the corpses. He won't spawn with corpses lying around.

Stand in the center between the two circular rooms, and say, "Telivar". Standing in the center pad of either room doesn't do it.

Telivar spawns in the left room as you're walking in. In order to spawn him and request this task you must have completed the "Find Telivar" task - see this page for progression information).

    You say, 'Hail, Telivar S`vik'

Telivar S`vik looks around suspiciously. 'So, you learned of me. Must have been that worthless human I saved. I should have known better. Should have left him to suffer. Now, I should just kill you. If [these creatures] torture you, you'll start screaming right away. I can't [trust] you, even if you claim to be here to help. If there were [more] of you, then I might have more faith. The beasts here come closer to finding me every day. With your help I probably won't be able to [evade] them very long.

You say, 'You can trust me'

You have been assigned the task 'You Pay the Price'.

Telivar S`vik says 'Well, I'm not one that trusts. It's not part of my lifestyle. However, I can be bought. I want something. If you get it for me I'll tell you how you might be able to interfere with the teleport system they have here.'

Telivar's greed is obvious. With the destruction of Norrath a distinct possibility, he still requires payment in trade for his help defeating the forces of Discord.

Deliver 1 Blazing-Rune Blade to Telivar 0/1 (Korafax, Home of the Riders)

This item is pre-lootable and drops from most types of trash mobs (note it does not seem to drop from mindshear attendants). Hand it to Telivar to complete the task.

Your task 'You Pay the Price' has been updated.

Telivar pries the symbol from the weapon and tosses the blade into the goop nearby. He pockets the symbol and smiles at you.

Telivar S`vik says 'You may have my [trust], as much of it as there is. We'll see how long that trust lasts.'

Your faction standing with Herald of Druzzil Ro got better.
You have successfully been granted your reward for: You Pay the Price

    Reward:
    Experience
    Faction
    30 Chronobines
    Bedlam Crystal Segment

Telivar's second solo task "Assist the Riftseekers" follows this one.

    Flavor Text

This has nothing to do with tasks, but gives some insight into Korafax and its inhabitants:

Telivar S`vik looks around suspiciously. 'So, you learned of me. Must have been that worthless human I saved. I should have known better. Should have left him to suffer. Now, I should just kill you. If [these creatures] torture you, you'll start screaming right away. I can't [trust] you, even if you claim to be here to help. If there were [more] of you, then I might have more faith. The beasts here come closer to finding me every day. With your help I probably won't be able to [evade] them very long.

    You say, 'These creatures?'

Telivar S`vik says 'Hah! Which ones would you like to talk about? The short, fat, [smarmy] ones? The tall [furry] ones? Or maybe you mean the [horse women]? The guys with the [bows]? Or maybe the ones that look like [orcs] with a bad war-paint fashion sense? There are just too many to discuss. All you really need to know is that they all serve some great god. Some creature that they fear beyond all hope. I've never seen it, and I'm glad of that. The fear they have for this god of theirs is what keeps this place running, keeps their [plots] moving forward.'

    You say, 'What plots?'

Telivar S`vik says 'I'm not sure what they are, but they aren't good. They've been experimenting on Norrathians. They use the Mindshear, the big monster that you see everywhere in here. It holds this rock together, I think. The Mindshear seems to mess with their minds in a very nasty way. Once they are, um, ripe, the victims are taken out to the torture rooms where they [experiment] on them.'

    You say, 'They experiment?'

Telivar S`vik says 'Mostly it seems that they are trying to twist them in some way. I mean, look at the Innoruuk-cursed dog things! They look more like humans than dogs, but they have a shockingly good sense of smell. And they move on all fours like beasts. I can't believe that they were born like that, not with all the scars they have. I think the torture they do to their victims is meant to twist them. And the Mindshear makes it so they take on the mentality of the form they are twisted into. I suspect that once they get it the way they want it, they can make the transformations easily enough thereafter. I just hope they don't figure out what they intend for the Teir`Dal any time soon.'

You say, 'Tell me about the horse women'

Telivar S`vik says 'Ugh. I mean, really. I don't even want to know where they came from. But watch out. They are ugly, but they are pretty far up the ladder here. For good reason. They are tough and dangerous. Clever, even smart I suppose. But easy to hear coming. And with those banners it's like someone belled the cat.'

You say, 'What about the furry ones?'

Telivar S`vik says 'Big and strong, but dumb as a dwarf. They seem to be basic troops. Not trusted with much other than beating things up. Totally loyal and very dangerous. And, like most of these things, they stink, smell like they sleep in their own feces. Generally not a difficulty for me, but they could be a problem for you.'

You say, 'What about the ones with the bows?'

Telivar S`vik says 'Sharp-eyed freaks. I mean, they have no eyes, but they rarely miss a shot with those bows. Other than the [dog-things] they are the most likely to notice me. One on one, not that tough, I suppose. I've killed one myself. Had no choice, really. They don't seem to have any political power here, basically foot soldiers.'

    You say, 'What dog things?'

Telivar S`vik says 'Those things creep me out. Keen sense of smell. Too hard for me to avoid, now that they know my scent. If you meet any, kill them. Of course that could be said about anything in this place.'

You say, 'And the smarmy ones?'

Telivar S`vik says 'They look stupid, but they might be the cleverest of the bunch. They do menial tasks, stuff they can do with ease. They often get swatted by the bigger ones, but they never screw up their work, so they rarely get any sort of severe punishment. Some clan of them appears to have gotten the disgusting job of attending the beast that holds this place together. They call it the [Mindshear]. I suspect that this was not an accident. If something horrible happens I suspect the Mindshear would save them first.'

    You say, 'Mindshear?'

Telivar S`vik says 'That thing is horrifying. Stay away from it. From what I've seen it can twist your mind like Innoruuk's spine. Then the locals take you away and twist your body. They've been trying to twist humans for a while now. They haven't had too much success because their subjects keep dying. Soon enough, though, I suspect they'll find one with enough spine to live through the process.'

    You say, 'And the orcs?'

Telivar S`vik says 'Heh. Grunts, nothing more, nothing less. Tough, I suppose, but not all that smart.'

You say, 'How do you evade them?'

Telivar S`vik says 'Oh, I'm a fantastic sneak. I've never been found. Makes me one of the best assassins you'll ever meet. Heh, not that you'd usually ever 'meet' me. You might be introduced to my blade, and that's about it. I was one of those sent to take out that fool Firiona Vie when she dared to battle us in Kithicor. But, well, what happened there still has me confused. I'm not sure I even want to [discuss it].'

    You say, 'Discuss it, please'

Telivar S`vik says 'Pushy, aren't you. Fine. I was attached to Lanys' group. Just before the battle I was to lead an elite assassination squad to take out the idiot Koada`Dal. But before we could leave some huge shadow creatures came out of nowhere and started moving toward the battleground. I was hidden right near where they appeared. Before I could discover what they were up to I felt myself being [ripped apart].'

    You say, 'Ripped apart?'

Telivar S`vik says 'Very, very unpleasant. Like I was living all of my life at once. I'm certain that somehow I was able to change my life in that moment. But I can't remember what I did, it all seems like it has always been this way. Anyway, that's not part of the story you get to hear. I awoke behind some stone spires in the area outside. I think one of those portals closed right on top of me and pulled me here. One of the Riftseekers must have tossed me out of sight behind the rocks. Since then I've been hiding here and there, until I made the [wrong move].'

    You say, 'Wrong move?'

Telivar S`vik says 'I was stupid. I remembered seeing some of these creatures attacking my mistress Lanys just before I was torn away. I also saw a bunch of people appear out of nowhere and engage those creatures. Humans, Koada`Dal, Gnomes... all kinds of people that I would never have expected to come to our aid. I had a moment of weakness when I saw a fresh new human dragged in and placed onto the goop. When the beasts left, I pulled him free. Can't do that with anyone that's been in there a while. But he was fresh, only in a few hours. That got me in [trouble].'

    You say, 'What trouble?'

Telivar S`vik says 'Lots of trouble. I now had a worthless, insane human to deal with. I couldn't maintain my freedom with him in my care. And, frankly, he smells pretty bad. So I managed to get him outside onto one of the rocks they hardly use. But by then the beasts were looking for him. So I had to lead them off. It was about then that I understood that even here Innoruuk was teaching me about Hate. I managed to shake the creatures, but I can no longer walk so freely among them. They know my scent. So I have lost any chance of getting free. I hate that human!'

Lots of conflicting information out there. My map is clearly wrong. Here is how I spawned Telivar:

Go to the NW room and kill all four mobs. Loot the corpses. He won't spawn with corpses lying around.

Stand in the center between the two circular rooms, and say, "Telivar". Standing in the center pad of either room doesn't do it.

Telivar spawns in the left room as you're walking in.

When you ask Telivar about the ones with [bows], his response includes the phrase [dog-things], referring presumably to the ukuns. At the time of this post, there is no reply listed in the details page above.

I could not get him to reply to this exact keyword ("what dog-things?") but I could get him to reply to "what dog things" (no dash) and also to "what Ukun?". In both cases, the same reply was given. Here is my log:

[Sun Aug 09 00:50:51 2009] You say, 'what Ukun?'
[Sun Aug 09 00:50:51 2009] Telivar S`vik says 'Those things creep me out. Keen sense of smell. Too hard for me to avoid, now that they know my scent. If you meet any, kill them. Of course that could be said about anything in this place.'

[Sun Aug 09 00:50:55 2009] You say, 'what dog things'
