Hail Rueppy Kutpurse and she asks if you want something to drink. Ask her what she wants to drink and she says how about beer. After you give her a beer, she says it's good, but not as good as blackburrow stout. (But what is?) Ask here about blackburrow stout and she responds that you can smuggle it. If you then ask her about smuggling and she will ask you if you want a job. Should you choose to accept, you have to go to the ruins on the other side of the great wall, find Gungrich, and tell him that Dark Rivers Flow East. The ruins are the undead hill on the other side of the wall in Misty Thicket. When you say this to Gunrich, he gives you a case of blackburrow stout. Take the case back to Rueppy Kutpurse and she gives you some small change and experience.

After giving short beer, she asks for Blackburrow Stout. After you ask what is B.S., she says you have to smuggle it in. THEN WHAT???? Nothing I've tried so far seems to work.

You can get short beer from one of the armor merchants behind the bar, Golden whatever. A quick question for those who complete the quest. How much xp would a lvl. 10 druid get? And how much coin? I hoping it's pretty good coin.

I had to raise DeepPockets faction from indifferent to amiable before she would continue on with the quest text. Only took me 10 stacks of bandages with Honnybugger to do it.

the easiest way to do this is to get the things needed to make short beer, hops malt barley and s cask. then make it it is all at the secound level of fools gold.

To raise deeppockets faction go to rogue guild leader and say "I want the job." I raised it to ally in to minutes.

Is it just me?
When I tell Gunrich: "Dark river flows east" he wouldn't react to me, but if I remove the 's' in "flows", then he will give me the stout.

Correct sentence would be: Dark river flow east.

unfortunately it was just you...paying proper attention is the key to this game! If you read the key sentence again is reads dark riverS flow east with the "s" on rivers. NOT FLOW.

duh! its avalible at "any" inn or tavern, including the one in rivervale, i carry a bag of it for the boat rides, and to give to tanks for the str boost it gives

umm this may have been changed since u posted this but short beer isnt available anywhere in Rivervale i have checked every merchant in town htey sell short ale but that isnt the same the only way is to go to FP or somewhere and buy it butu can buy a stack or two and just keep handing them to her i gave her the five i had on me and got the exp every time so i guess it will sork for a couple stacks of beer nice way to lvl from lvl 1 to 2 or 3 very easily

easiest way to get short beer is to brew it right there, and if you plan to do any tailoring (making heady kiolas) you will need the skill later any way. making ales and beers cheapest way to increase skills. and handy when none available good luck.

I am a level eight agnostic hafling warrior. Found Gunrich near the tunnel to Runnyeye and hailed him. Told him "Dark rivers flows east" and he told me that I wasn't trustworthy enough yet. Anyone know what faction I need to raise for this. I have enough faction to do two of the quests related to NPCs in the Druid area but not enough for this one.

Thanks in advance for any info.

OK, I'll repeat this. Go into Kithicor (but only between 8am and 8pm Norrath time and stay clear of the Teir`Dal camp at any time) and you can buy all the short beer you can afford from any of the innkeepers there.

i got the beer if of hunting gobs. they will sometimes drop achool but even when they do it is completly random and you probably have to kill 40 gobs before you get a short beer.

Well, to put it simply, all you have to do is go to the Plane of Knowledge, buy a beer from the tavern there, and warp back to Misty Thicket. From there, make a beeline to RV and hand in the beer to Rueppy. You can buy an infinite amount of them, so do this quest as often as you like.

Be mindful of the Norrath time of day then head into Kithicor Forest (only between 9am and 9pm). You can buy short beer from the Innkeeps there.

I am not sure of this, but I believe they sell short beer in Halas. Either way, it can be brewed at a fairly low level. The casino in HH sells compontents for beer. I dont know the recipe off hand, but it is posted often
