This raid task begins with Trakanon in the Field of Scale. You must have completed the Kaesora Council raid in order to request it (any other pre-requisites?).

You say, 'Hail, Trakanon'

Trakanon says 'Be gone. Go talk to a tree if you have a need to hear your own voice. I have [Iksar] to deal with. Them and that coward [Kurn].'

You say, 'Kurn?'

Trakanon says 'The mighty Kurn hides inside his tower. He fears us, as he should. There appears to be no way to pry him from his hiding place. He makes this battle into a siege, perhaps it's about time I did the same. You might prove [useful] to me after all. If you have half a company's worth of underlings you may even be able to give me [assistance] with a much larger task.'

You say, 'How can I give you assistance?'

If unflagged:

Trakanon says 'You have not proven yourself enough for me to allow you to take on this task. Go help the others, and when you are ready, I will take your [assistance].'

If flagged:

Trakanon says 'Then get over to the tower and do what you claim you can do.'

You have been assigned the task 'Claiming Felbane the Dragon Slayer'.

Trakanon has tasked you with retrieving the sword Felbane the Dragon Slayer from Kurn.



Task Steps

Enter Kurn's Tower 0/1 (Field of Scale)

The instance entrance is the same as the regular entrance.

Loot 1 Felbane the Dragon Slayer 0/1 (Kurn's Tower)

Deliver 1 Felbane the Dragon Slayer to Trakanon 0/1 (Field of Scale)



The Event

General Kurn and his officers are located in a cubby on the first floor of the tower.

You say, 'Hail, General Kurn'

General Kurn says 'What are you doing here? Do not get in the way of my preparations.'

You say, 'We're here to take Felbane'

General Kurn says 'So. You think you can wrest Felbane from me? You must be insane to think that I would allow such a thing. You are still alive only because I do not wish to expend the resources on you. If you [insist] I will swat you aside like the bugs that you are, but that is your choice.'

You say, 'We insist'

General Kurn says 'I am loath to spend the resources on you, but so be it.'

The officers will go active one at a time as you kill them. There IS a timer in play where if you take too long with an officer, another will go active (how much time?).

Adds spawn through the entire event. Some come with AEs, typically lesser versions of the named AEs. ("a venal warlock" in particular casts a single-target mez.) Most of them enrage. They are a little harder than the mobs you'd find in the regular Kurn zone. All but the golems are mezzable.

You will have a LOT of adds by the time all is said and done -- they are the bane of this raid.

The order in which the nameds go active is random, except: You will never fight Kurn himself, and the Champion of the Tower always comes last (as he is the one wielding Felbane).

Reaver Lord Thersith hits for a max ~10,000; enrages (does not flurry or rampage) and casts the spells "Thersith's Empathy" and "Wave of Darkness":

Thersith's Empathy: Single Target, Unresistable (-200)
1: Increase Hitpoints by 3000

Wave of Darkness: PB AE 75', Chromatic (-650)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 10000

Torkis the Darkscale hits for a max ~10,000 (does not flurry, rampage or enrage) and casts the spells "Torkis' Terrifying Visage", "Emissary of the Darkscale", "Darkscale Leech" and "Torkis' Pyrocruor":

Torkis' Terrifying Visage: PB AE 200', Chromatic (-600)
1: Fear up to level 88

Emissary of the Darkscale: Self 0', Poison (0)
1: Summon Skeleton Pet: pet_85_RaidBossSku16T2

Darkscale Leach: Lifetap 0', Magic (-800)

Torkis' Pyrocruor: Single Target, Fire (-750)

Srith The Iron Fist hits for a max ~10,000; enrages (does not flurry or rampage); FD's; and casts the spell "Srith's Disabling Shout":

Mundunugu Rathiss hits for a max ~10,000 (does not flurry, rampage or enrage) and casts the spells "Rathiss' Mending", "Pox of Rathis" and "Rathiss' Torrent of Poison":

1: Increase Disease Counter by 9
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 400 per tick
3: Decrease HP when cast by 900

General Kurn barks his orders throughout:

Reaver Lord Thersith says 'Feel the power of Cazic-Thule!'

General Kurn shouts 'Torkis, this is your last chance to prove the worth of your necromancers.'
General Kurn shouts 'Torkis, finish them or prove your servants as worthless as I expect they are.'
Torkis the Darkscale says 'You will die, and I will raise your body as fodder for our armies!'

General Kurn shouts 'Srith, teach them a lesson.'
General Kurn shouts 'Srith, the others have failed. Prove the worth and the iron of your clan.'
Srith The Iron Fist says 'Intruder! You have no business here!'

General Kurn shouts 'Rathis, the others have failed. You must bring the power of the spirits to smite them.'
General Kurn shouts 'Rathis, show them the folly of resisting the spirits.'
Mundunugu Rathiss says 'I am the hand of death, and death comes for you!'

General Kurn shouts 'Do not allow them to continue to flaunt the spirits.'

Upon killing the last of the four officers:

General Kurn shouts 'My commanders have failed me. If you desire Felbane you will have to wrest it from my champion. I have other matters that demand my time. I will leave you to your fate.'

General Kurn walks away and disappears from the action. The Champion of the Tower attacks.

Champion of the Tower says 'You shall go no further, invader!'

Champion of the Tower hits for a max ~11,000; enrages; and casts the spells "Tower's Decree" and "Tower's Edict":

Champion of the Tower swings Felbane above his head, preparing to slam the pomel into the ground.

Tower's Decree: PB AE 75', Prismatic (-650)

Champion of the Tower pulls a symbol with glowing inscriptions from it's armor.

Tower's Edict: PB AE 150', Magic (-650)
1: Inhibit Melee Attacks by(65%)
2: Decrease Effective Casting Level by 12
3: Increase Curse Counter by 22

Champion of the Tower has been slain by _____!
Champion of the Tower's corpse takes one last breath, and falls to the ground dead.
Your faction standing with Sebilisian Empire got worse.
Your faction standing with Tynoc, Herald of Scale got better.

Adds do not despawn and have no bearing on the task's completion (you can kill them or leave them).

The chest with loot spawns at this point. The turn-in for Felbane is optional (although required for progression purposes the first time you do it).



Felbane

Loot Felbane from the Champion of the Tower's corpse and give it to Trakanon to complete the task.

Trakanon says, 'Thank you. It is a great relief to not have that creature cutting into our profits.'

Trakanon is pleased with your assistance.

Noticed with Srith's disabling shout, before this goes off an emote says "Srith the Iron Fist takes a deep breath" That might help with audio triggers on when to stand.

Found out today that officers CAN go active even before you beat one. We had a second one finally go active on us when we took a long time to kill the one that had an AE fear. Not sure on timer yet.
