This shared task begins with Noble Mikuv the Rational in the Old Bloodfields (he is located in one of the rooms outside the City of Dranik entrance).

You say, 'Hail, Noble Mikuv the Rational'

Noble Mikuv the Rational says 'Yes, yes, and then if we. . . Ah, _____, you're here. I've been hoping to find your services available. I have need of some [help] from someone of your. . . qualifications.'

    You say, 'Help?'

Noble Mikuv the Rational says 'You may have heard of the trouble we've been having with our communication lines lately. The muramites have set up ambushes for our couriers and very few have managed to make it through to deliver their messages. At the moment I have a message of no small importance that needs to make it to Commander Fethul to the east. I need some sort of [assurance] the message will reach its destination.'

    You say, 'Assurance'

Noble Mikuv the Rational says 'I had thought your protection would be just the thing for this. If you were to stay with the courier while he made the journey I have no doubt he would make it through successfully. Take this scroll to one of our couriers and escort him to Commander Fethul.'

You have been assigned the task 'Deliver the Message'.

Noble Mikuv has a message of critical importance for the commander of the dragon forces to the east. With the muramites disrupting the communication lines he is concerned about the safety of the message, and if it will even arrive at all. He has tasked you with protecting the messenger while he makes his way to deliver the message.

Deliver the message to a dragorn courier 0/1 (Old Bloodfields)

    (Does any courier work?)

Protect the courier while he delivers the message 0/1 (Old Bloodfields)

The courier needs to deliver his message to Commander Fethul on the opposite side of the zone, near the void zone in. The route he follows runs from the Dragorn fortifications protecting the Old Dranik Zone line, and is roughly parallel with the north zone wall.

As he travels his preset route he can be asked to STOP or made to GO again by saying, stop/go.

    You say, 'Stop'

a dragorn courier says 'Holding here, as you command. I really must not delay in delivering the message. Let me know when it is safe to [go] onward.'

    You say, 'Go'

a dragorn courier says 'Excellent. I was getting tired of waiting. Be sure to tell me to [stop] if the way ahead is too dangerous.'

At three points along the way 2-4 mobs will spawn and ambush the group. They will attack the courier and he will fight back, if he dies you will fail. The attackers could all be Mezed and rooted.

Map points for the ambush locations:
    P 729.7371, -666.0650, 14.6321, 0, 240, 0, 2, Ambush_3_-_(2_mobs_I_think)
    P 350.5252, -349.0085, 0.8771, 0, 240, 0, 2, Ambush_2_-_2_mobs
    P -345.0057, -1365.9918, 33.5186, 0, 240, 0, 2, Ambush_1_-_4_mobs

When the courier finally reaches his destination:

a dragorn courier says 'Sir! An important message for you from Noble Mikuv.'

Commander Fethul says 'Excellent work courier. I'm impressed that you were able to get through. Such a thing is not easy these days. I'll attend to these matters at once. You are dismissed. Go rest up before returning to your post.'

a dragorn courier says 'Thank you sir.'

Your task 'Deliver the Message' has been updated.

Killing the muramites waiting in ambush is a good start to restoring communications between the dragorn. Watches will have to be placed to prevent the muramites from attempting this again.

Hello all ... after a few trys with my 91 War + Healer Merch I can explain the difficulty of this task.

Perhaps 10 lvl higher i might do it alone, but in generally you simply CANT without a mezzer at your side. ... Why? ... read ->
1.) You can clear with enough killpower the paths in front from mobs .. thats not the prob.. with stop ang go you can stay him out of these battles...
2.) You CANT clear the mentioned 3 assaults ... and here starts the problems, because:
    a) Your courier to protect ISNT in your group! So he is NOT save against offensive areas ... in any case he will attack you, and without mezzer you failed right here...
    b) So as .. you have to single aggro the assaults ... Next Problem: the courier taunts stronger than a warrior .. and that to ALL assaults ... a thing you CANT because of a) (see above!). That means you DONT get the aggro from the assaults from him in the time they need to kill him .. SO .. there AGAIN is a need of the mezzer to wipe enough out of the assault to handle it.

And thats the only "trick" of this task ... forget to heal the courier .. the healer gets aggro and get wiped (summon!) - forget to root ... hell the courier still would stand right in the middle and die ...

So the only solve is the add of an good enchanter. (or to make this quest single when the whole zone is grey ... might work to..)

    Stay save and enchanterfriendly!! ))

Completed this tonight: 95 Wiz (me) + J5 cleric, 95 Pal, 95 Necro.

There's really not much of a trick to this mission; you just have to have a group that can manage multiple mobs at (almost) all times, either via crowd control or just sufficient tanking and healing. I know some of the other posts mention only having 3-4 mobs at once, but we typically had 6+ at the ambush points. The worst was when I stopped the courier near the bridge. I'm not sure if this is just an area where a lot of mobs path through, but we had perhaps a dozen mobs one after another.

I would strongly recommend a PC tank. The Pal essentially stayed ahead of the courier and pulled anything in its way. Typically I'd then stop the courier a bit behind where we were engaging the mobs. Besides the merc tanks not being able to position mobs and thus usually getting the courier hit, I kept ended up with aggro on the courier when I tried using a merc.

This is the second hardest mission in the arc for the Dark Soul Crystal. I'm not sure how early in the series you can do it (faction, etc?) but the sooner the better. It's really frustrating to get the rest of the tasks done and be stuck on one or two.

Just FYI, I tried training the courier all the way to Commander Fethul and it did not work. he just turns around and starts walking back the way he came, so u must need to hit points along the way for the mission to complete.

Been a long time since your post but i thought i would update with a bit of info. Tried the lvl 87 spell Baffle rk2 to mesmerize the courier. I got a message saying your target cannnot be mesmerized and was attacked by the courier. So it looks like mesmerization is out of the question. Evacd and decided to try the task over and see if memblur worked. I tried to use memblur on him repeatedly after my monk got agro but he would not come off the hate list so im guessing memblur does not work either. I didn't try any kind of aa enchanter memblur stuff though. Just tried the level 55 spell. I don't have any of those aa's with my enchanter so im not sure it would work. The courier also summoned my monk immediately after i threw just one item at him so im guessing any dmg on him will cause him to summon you if your on his hate list.

Okay i recently tried this task again. Slowly took my time. Was 2 boxing a level 90 monk and level 90 enchanter. Tier 5 journeyman healer and tier 5 melee dps mercs. Had Polyspectral rune rk 2 up at all times with enchanter. A few times the courier would agro once the rude faded cause of the stun effect it procs when its destroyed. I had to set merc to passive and use the level 55 memory flux. Had to cast it upwards of 3 times on him but it would eventually land. I may have been lucky but only got 4 mobs once after the 1st ambush. Otherwise had 3 at a time at the most. Most mobs i ever had to deal with was 6 of them right before the 1st ambush. This is also the part where i failed the previous tries.
    Just isn't right

So I type this after our 6th wipe of the night and our 3rd night of trying different strategies. We have tried Bard kitting, 2 full groups plowing through and still have failed each time. ***** you SoE for putting this task in a non instanced respawning zone. There is no way this task is tuned for group content. Plus with only 6 task spots available have fun getting folks to come help. This task sucks all the way around, no other way of putting it.
    no crowd control

Completed this tonight with 85 warrior, 85 shaman, 85 beastlord, 85 necro, and 2 boxed 85 clerics. It can be done without crowd control but it took us about 20 tries to get it down without it. We had 2 deaths but were able to battle rez and upon completion of the escort mission everyone did get the task completion message and the reward.
    What's the trick?

This is supposedly a groupable task, but every time I have tried it with a group (including one with both a bard and an enchanter in group) we have wiped within a short time of starting the mission.

If this is truly groupable (without bringing extra groups along to kite or kill adds) then there must be a trick to doing it. What's the trick?

    Unique Strategy to Win
    # May 26 2009 at 1:02 PM Rating: Decent
This is a very difficult task, and for one group to try to do this would be a deathwish. It can probably be done with an extremely talented group with the right pieces, but I would strongly advise against it.

I had read on the boards about this task and had been dreading it for quite some time, but we devised a strategy that worked great. It took us about an hour to do it, and it worked pretty much flawlessly.

    Our Strategy:
-First we picked a time of very high traffic. There were 30 people in the zone. Much of the trash was being killed by groups farming the names and xping. We had 12 people who showed up to finish this task. The task: Deliver The Message is a group task and you can taskadd 6 people to each task. We had 2 group tasks at the same time with 6 people in each task. Next we divided into 4 groups (3 in each group each person popping a merc). Since mercs don't count as human players we maximized our healage and dps. So instead of 12 people, we actually had 24 with mercs.

-To start the task you must turn in the little scroll to the Courrier. We had the task leader (The person who is least likely to die) turn in the scrolls. So we had 2 courriers at the same time. After this we got started. We made sure we knew exactly where the 3 ambush spots were. Our 2 dragorns followed each other through the 3 ambushes. Since we had 2 dragorns, we actually had to do 6 ambushes, but we made sure to only trigger the ambush once at a time. We had some of force at the front of the pack, some in the middle, and some in the back just in case random mobs would attack from the 3 areas. Using voice chat helped tremendously as we could instantly tell the entire "raid" where the mob was coming from.

-Leading the two dragorns through the 3 ambushes was cake. We had about 2-3 mobs every ambush, and with that many people/healers, and the enchanters we had, the mobs went down easily. It took us about an hour to complete the two groups ambushes. We won easily.

*Important Note*: The second group's task leader was a druid. He almost died during the process, so he used exodus not to die. We had read that if you die, your group will not get the update. At the end of the task, the druid and the entire group did get the win. So it appears, you can zone out and still win the task. Just dont die :)

Hope this suggestion helps those who are struggling with this task

This is an Esscort mission.. a rather difficult one.
You start near Noble Mikuv and must protect the Dragorn Courier as he traverses the zone along the Northern portion of the map to the Void Zone Line area. You can command him to stop walking and to start walking By saying either Stop or Go to him.

Several times on the walk, in addition to all of the normal roaming mobs in the area, you will have 2-4 spawns Ambush your party. Protect the curiour and kill or mez and mem blurr those mobs that do spawn.

The letter carrier will attack any wandering trash within a few feet of him and also those that spawn as ambushes, so work quickly to keep him from taking damage.

Towards the end of the walk we did have a problem with the esscort mob warping every few feet, but thankfully not enough to cause major problems.

Completed this Mission with A warrior a chanter bot a zerker a paladin and two cleric mercs

Who actually gets credit for this task is unclear to me. The warrior and the pally sucessfuly completed the mission. The chanter and the Zerker did not recieve the final update. I know the chanter died mid way through the mission and also was the person who controled the walking of the courior. I don't recall who requested the mission.

I was only able to deliver it to a specific Courier. Loc 1475, 1325. In the room across the hall from Mikuv. You then get the task step: Protect the courier while he delivers the message.

Now it's similar to escorting the guard out of BB. You can tell him to stop. He generally sticks to the outer edge of the zone. But goes all the way to the zone in from Void. CC is recommended as had 3 or 4 mobs a few times.
