 This task is given by Ulgin Darkhammer in the Korascian Warrens. You must have completed Hagorn's four tasks in order to request it.
You say, 'Hail, Ulgin Darkhammer'

Ulgin Darkhammer says 'Good to see an eager face in these mines, traveler. Our work is cut out for us here. We've lost too many dwarves in the explosion which wrought havoc just to the north of us. Murdunk's magic-users conjured a mighty blast to break the Korascian Frogs, but they also opened up a hole in the Plane of Earth, exposing its [crystal] core.'

You say, 'The crystal core?'

Ulgin Darkhammer says 'Aye, and when the Crystal Core was breached, it began growing masses of crystal into what was left of the Warrens up there, and strange crystalline creatures began issuing from the primal energy. They killed the dwarves we sent to [investigate]. A shame, because those primal crystal beasties could be worth a lot; I know a few mages that would love to get their hands on that much raw crystal.'

You say 'Investigate?'

Ulgin Darkhammer says 'There are a few tasks if you're looking for ways to keep busy for Kaigrun. I need someone to do some [scouting], some harvesting of crystalline [fluids], some gathering of crystalline [organs] for study, and perhaps you can make matters easier for us by knocking off the crystalline creature who seems to be their [ruler]. Of, if you have the help of a few allies, perhaps you might be able to help us deal with the recent growth of crystal [blooms].'

You say, 'Who is their ruler?'

Ulgin Darkhammer says 'Be careful, whatever rules them is likely to be quite powerful.'

You have been assigned the task 'Pinnacle of Destruction'.

Kill 1 Crystalline Imperiont 0/1 Korascian Warrens)

Head to the center of the Crystal Core (northeastern part of the warrens) to find the Crystalline Imperiont and kill it.

It is located in the cave at 1484, -1687, -50. There is one other mob (mezzable) inside cave with it and there are no see invis mobs present.

Ulgin Darkhammer says 'I hope Algrund Darkhammer is looking down from Brell's Rest, pleased with the vengeance you've earned for his death today. As the Crystalline Imperiont falls, so goes the rest of the crystal threat! Or so I hope.'

This is definitely incorrect as I was able to request all of Ulgin's quests without completing "Darkhammer Supply Run" from Hagorn.

Confirmed, requested this with no Hagorn tasks completed.

The only dwarvish task I completed prior to getting this was "Get to the Delve."

Was able to request all 4 Delver Hagorn and all 5 Ulgin Darkhammer tasks.
