"an undead knight" can be found on the third floor of the Temple of Solusek Ro at +400, +80, -30.
You say, 'Hail, an undead knight' an undead knight says 'Away from this place of torment! Make haste and flee before you, too, share my [gruesome fate]!!' You say, 'What gruesome fate?' an undead knight says 'I was once a proud shadowknight, but failed I did in my master's quest. I was sent into a lizard fortress deep in the swamplands. I was to seek out an ancient item for my master. I failed and was captured. The lizards stripped me of my [darkforge armor] and planned to boil me alive. Before they could do so, I escaped. Upon my return to my master's lair I found myself in a [worse predicament].' You say, 'What darkforge armor?' an undead knight says 'I and I alone have the power to create darkforge armor!! It was crafted for me so naturally it is to be worn by shadowknights only. My armor was taken by the lizardman crusaders. Unfortunately for them, it lost all power and cannot be worn. I would be glad to see it put to good use. Do you [seek the darkforge armor]?' You say, 'I seek the darkforge armor.' an undead knight says 'Darkforge gauntlets require both of my decayed gauntlets and one enchanted platinum bar. For the darkforge greaves, I will need both decayed legplates and two pieces of melatite from the Solusek Mining Company. For the boots, I need both my decayed boots and two parts of fairy dust.' You say, 'What worse predicament?' an undead knight says 'I was torn apart by my master and my bones were given as toys to my master's associates!! I am now only half Grandyf the Vile. My hands, feet and legs were sent here and assembled with spare bones of other unfortunates. Since this is the case, I can only [create darkforge armor] in the form of boots, greaves and gauntlets.' All decayed pieces for this suit of armor drop from both "a Tae Ew crusader" and "a Tae Ew spiritualist," which spawn in The Feerrott outside of the temple of Cazic-Thule. The melatite drops from the CWG Models in Solusek's Eye. an undead knight says 'You have been granted the darkforge greaves!!' You gain experience!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

I looted L & R Decayed (might be Decaying) "Leg Plates". I have not seen any Decaying Greaves, left or right. I have been there for 5 days and have not seen "Greaves" or any of the breastplate items. I went and grabbed the Melatite from the little robot gnomes in Sol A, and took them and the decayed "leg plates" from the crusaders in Feerrot, to the undead knight. He gave it all back and said he can not use them. I can verify that the helm quest works fine. Has anyone found the BP items, or been able to acquire the Greaves recently? 2/15/04 @ 11:00pm pst.

I think this guy made the same mistake i did. THERE A 2 different UNDEAD KNIGHTS ...1 knight will ONLY make the BP, helm, arms, and wrist; while the other makes just greaves, and boots. What he probably did was try to turn in the leg plates to the wrong undead knight. Hope this info helps someone =)

For anyone who views this post, please do not make the same mistake of wasting your time like this fellow for not understanding that greaves and leg plates are the same, essentially. for this quest, you are looking for left and right LEG PLATES, not GREAVES. Upon completing this quest, you are awarded the Darkforge Greaves. Happy Hunting!
