This task begins with Togswell Mophintok in Goru`kar Mesa. He is located in the back of the ooze caves. At the end of the previous task, you saw:

Oh well there it is! The sample of Drudgeweed I have been seeking. My thanks... oh take this. Do you want to help [more]?

You say, 'Hail, Togswell Mophintok'

Togswell Mophintok says 'What? Are you deaf or do you just not listen. I asked if you want to help [more]!

You say, 'More.'

Togswell Mophintok says 'I have come to the conclusion that substituting the opramatter diffuser coupled with the glowing uranium deviator for a chromium-coiled springobober covered in... [saliva] just may be the fix I'm looking for!'

You say, 'Saliva?'

Togswell Mophintok says 'A crazy notion? Nonsense! The saliva should serve as an acidic lubricant as well as a conductor! Hah! 'You old tub of parts! Where will I find that kind of saliva' I said to myself. I then recalled an old beast in the Vergalid Mines that just may posess the slimey goop we need! Bleep oop-oop-o. [Unearthed Bonesnapper Beast] is its name. Yep!'

You say, 'Unearthed Bonesnapper Beast?'

Togswell Mophintok says 'An old friend Pinclog Ratchetclank told me about the creature some time ago. It has only been spotted a few times, and the only known data on the creature was apparently in the process of being taken when the writing on the transcript suddenly... stopped. This could be crazy, but it seems as if the last person to spot the beast was, well, [eaten].'

You say, 'Eaten?'

Togswell Mophintok says 'Yes, eaten! It didn't make sense at first, but after thinking it over it made perfect sense. The creature must be blind. I have come up with this hardened metal-alloy material that emits a distinct odor that resembles something similar to the food the creature may normally feast on. With any luck, you will be able to plant it near the creature and he will try to eat it, giving me the saliva sample that I need! That is... if the creature has half a brain and doesn't try to swallow it. Be sure to stay out of sight, or you may wind up as the main course.'

You have been assigned the task 'Bile From Below'.

You receive Hardened Metal Alloy.

  • 1. Plant the hardened metal-alloy 0/1 (Vergalid Mines)

Head to the flooded caves area of the Vergalid Mines. There is a strip of land between the first and second cave area. The task will auto-update when you have the item on your cursor and are in the right /loc (area of -455, -1000, -352).

Upon update, "Unearthed Bonesnapper Beast" spawns.

  • 2. Move to safety and watch 0/1 (Vergalid Mines)

Unearthed Bonesnapper Beast spawns deeper in the caves and paths out to the previous spot.

  • 3. Check for the hardened metal-alloy 0/1 (Vergalid Mines)

You need not do anything besides wait. The turtle paths back down to -475, -1495, -362, to a pool full of caimans.

  • 4. Loot 1 Saliva Covered Hardened Metal-Alloy 0/1 (Vergalid Mines)

Kill the beast and loot the item from its corpse.

  • 5. Deliver 1 Saliva Covered Hardened Metal-Alloy to Togswell Mophintok 0/1 (Goru`kar Mesa)

    Upon turn-in:

You have returned the saliva coated hardened metal-alloy to Togswell.

Togswell no longer responds to hails.

    1) run to the loc in the first step and you get the update
    2) Move to safety and watch

For this step, I waited a good bit, no spawn. I ran back to the mushrooms at -448, -964 and I got the message "You hear the steps of a large beast ...." and I saw the spawn and got the update

    3) Check for the hardened metal-alloy

I waited a good bit again, then I ran back to the mushrooms at the above loc and got the update

    4) Kill, got 6 drops
    5) Turn in

Step 3 in Bile From Below, where you check for the metal -- you need to step over the spot where you placed the chunk of metal and where the turtle ate it, to update this step.

Ok, here is a quick update, if you wonder if you can box or do a grp with this, the answer is yes! I just did it boxing my 3 toons, and I even did a mistake, to where I can let you know, if you mistakenly give the piece to the wrong toon, luckily, another one of the beasts will pop, it took roughly about 2-3minutes, and what I did, was I stuck my toons in the edge of the "tunnel" between the first set of puddles(The area where the task/quest updates.) & the second set, where the more Caimans and the turtles and those veggies will be at, which are a bit higher level, as well, which the spot I planted my toons at, was the opposite end, of where the higher level monsters where at, so each of my toons could see where the metal piece drops, and the beast will pop just outside of the tunnel area, where the metal piece is at, so you can run your toons over and update the task and then run them back to the tunnel area, and after you do that, and it updates, is when the beast will fight you, plus, it is a very good idea to wipe-out the monsters in the first puddled area, to minimize the attacks, and there is a turtle/caiman that will periodically pop where you will be standing, so, watch-out for him. Ok, just wanted to give a bit more info on this, just in-case you put yourself through the same ordeal, that I did mine....

I finally got my quest to undate today for the plant the hardened metal-alloy. Once you do get the update, do not move far, just stay close by to the place you got the update because you will need that spot once more.

Next step you move to safety and watch. the beast will walk by and then stop near the area you got the update for placing the metal. Once that you that update it wants you to check for the hardened metal alloy. You now need to run over the same spot you did previously to get the update for the first step. Once you get that update the beast becomes targetable and you can kill it. If you just wait like the quest instructions above suggest, the beast will despawn.

Using the coords provided here, I cannot get the task update. I have tried putting the hardened metal-alloy on the ground, in a top level inventory slot, and on my cursor. I've logged, zoned, and dropped and re-aquired the quest. None of these things have worked.

Task will auto update when you have item on cursor and are in the right /loc (area of -454.08, -997.96, -352.54),

Unearthed Bonesnapper Beast (a MOB I did not find in the beastiary btw) will spawn. Just hang out and he will soon aggro you -- kill him. Loot the Saliva Covered Hardened Metal-Alloy.

Steps are as posted by Yalum.

    Plant the hardened metal-alloy

Task updates at -454.08, -997.96, -352.54 down in the flooded caves in Vergalid.

    Move to safety and watch

Unearthed Bonesnapper Beast spawns deeper in the caves and paths out to the previous spot.

    Check for the hardened metal-alloy

Loot 1 Saliva Covered Hardened Metal-Alloy

He swallowed your alloy! You're going to have to cut it out of him. Mezzable, corpse camps when pulled, summoned. Not significantly harder than normal zone mobs. Dropped Saliva Covered Hardened Metal-Alloy and normal trash drops for a turtle.

Deliver 1 Saliva Covered Hardened Metal-Alloy to Togswell Mophintok

[Sat Jan 03 04:16:36 2009] You have returned the saliva coated hardened metal-alloy to Togswell.
[Sat Jan 03 04:16:36 2009] You gain experience!!
