|This is a special one week only raid which is available from June 23, 2008 to June 29, 2008. You must have at least six and no more than 54 people in your raid.
Speak with Dougan Merule in the Southern Desert of Ro to initiate the expedition. He is located at the entrance to the Ruins of Takish-Hiz.
You say, 'Hail, Dougan Merule'
Dougan Merule says 'Listen to me. I've barely escaped with my life from the Sandkeep, a mysterious set of ruins in one of the underground warrens of Takish-Hiz. There, my wife and I awakened the stone golem Eothar, completely by accident, and in turn it has awakened an army of ancient liches, mummies, and enchanted desert scorpions. No matter how strong a force you may bring there, these creatures will certainly defeat you eventually. How long can your party hope to endure against them? All I ask is that you go in and rescue my wife Rayna, who is still in the Sandkeep cavern, beneath our feet. Will you rescue Rayna from the terrifying clutches of [Eothar]?'
You say, 'We will rescue her from Eothar.'
Dougan Merule says 'Good then. I will activate the talisman that will send you into the Sandkeep. Remember, you cannot defeat the monsters. You can only save Rayna, and perhaps determine how many seconds your group can survive this against the great stone golem and his minions. Start your [raid]; then let me know when you are [ready] to enter the Sandkeep.'
You say, 'Our raid..'
Dougan Merule says 'Very well. Best of luck to you.'
You are assigned the expedition 'Sandkeep Endurance Raid'.
You say, 'Ready!'
Dougan Merule says 'Do your best.'
LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered Sandkeep Endurance Raid.
The mobs you see around the zone are inactive. The event is triggered by approaching Eothar and his captive, Rayna Merule. Upon doing so:
Rayna Merule shouts 'Thank you for rescuing me, these creatures are insane! They killed everyone else in the expedition! You have no hope of stopping them, only the strongest adventurers can endure their onslaught!'
Rayna Merule shouts 'As you fight them, be aware that focusing your attacks on only a few monsters will cause them to increase their power at shorter intervals. I saw what they did to my colleagues, and it wasn't pretty. Only by attacking the mummies and keeping them angry could we hold on for as long as we did. If you leave a mummy alone for more than two minutes, you'll be regretting it.'
27 mobs become active: 1x Eothar (rampage), 4x "a sandkeep lich" (cleric; AE rampage), 8x "a Sandkeep mummy" (flurry; summons), and 14x "a Sandkeep scorpion" (shaman; rampage).

Last as long as you can. As soon as you're down to 40-45% of your raid force, the event despawns.
Rewards scale based on how other guilds/raids do on your server. The raid that makes it to the furthest wave receives the best reward.
From SOE's official Living Legacy website:
Are you ready to make the ultimate sacrifice? Brogan Stonebreaker's latest treasure hunt has gone awry and he needs the help of Norrath's greatest adventurers. Gather a small army and seek him out in South Ro for directions to the Sandkeep and the deadly host of Eothar the Sand Golem.
Rules: This raid cannot be 'won' by defeating enemies - the goal is to endure attacks for as long as possible. Once the scenario is triggered, Eothar will spawn along with numerous undead minions. Players must keep these enemies occupied and stay alive for as long as possible. The scenario will end if enemies are left idle or when more than 40% of the raid force are killed.
Rewards: Individual rewards for this raid event will be calculated based on the best attempt for each player. Every participant in a raid group on each server will receive an abacus from the initiating NPC that is used to track their progress. Once the results for all raids have been tabulated across all servers, a scaling item reward* will be given to players based on their relative performance in the raid. If you've lost your abacus, hail Distribution Facilitator XCV in the Plane of Knowledge (just outside the Guild Lobby entrance) for a replacement.
The first round of this raid scenario ends on 6/29, so get ready to have some fun! Check the leader boards table of guilds & players to track your progress and compete with your friends.
*One per character, non-tradeable. Sony Online Entertainment, in its sole and absolute discretion, will determine raid performances and corresponding rewards.
