This group task begins with Gurtrude the Spymaster who can be found at the Ak'Anon Strike Force camp near the zone-in of Fortress Mechanotus. It is available after completing "S.H.I.P. #2 S.H.I.P Sabotage!"

You say, 'Hail, Gurtrude the Spymaster'

Gurtrude the Spymaster says 'Shhh. . . A good spy knows to keep her voice low and quiet. Now, have you come here to assist me with my [work], or to [try to join] my gaggle of spies?'

    You say, 'With your work.'

Gurtrude the Spymaster says 'Well, it is my task to lead a fine group of spies. I can't tell you anything about them, but it is our duty to infiltrate the enemy's structures, disrupt their war effort and steal what secrets we can. Now, I readily admit that none of us on this detail were much for spying before the crash, but when it became obvious that we would not win this battle by strength of arms, I convinced many of the crew to work together as spies. They are even now infiltrating Meldrath's infrastructure. Though, we are spread a bit thin, and there is no support from the ground for our efforts. Perhaps you might be willing to do a few simple [tasks] for me?'

    You say, 'What tasks?'

Gurtrude the Spymaster says 'Good! Obviously I'm risking the lives of my people by trusting you, but I have no choice. I won't be sending you to speak with our most important spies, however, since I really don't know you very well. Will you be handling this [alone] or with trusted [friends]?'

    You say, 'With friends.'

Gurtrude the Spymaster says 'I hope these are good friends, because you'll be asking them to do some dangerous work. Good luck!'

You have been assigned the task 'Mechalossus'.

Using the plans you recovered from the S.H.I.P. Workshop, Gurtrude has discovered that a huge clock-work named Mechalossus is being designed and constructed. Act quickly to destroy the clock-work before it becomes fully operational. Let Gurtrude know when you are ready to 'sneak in'.

Tell Gurtrude you are ready to `sneak in` to the workshop. 0/1 (Fortress Mechanotus)

Destroy the Mechalossus 0/1 (S.H.I.P. Workshop)

Take the elevator up to the first floor. The Mechalossus is a huge robot in the middle of the room. Clear the room of trash, then begin beating on The Mechalossus. He does not wake up at first. Kill it before the emote that activates it.

While being damaged, he spawns an add now and then. Around 40%, the zone starts to emote the following:

'What is going on down there? Are you fools dancing again? Why, I'll treat you all to a quick drop down to Dragonscale if you keep it up!', a small, tinny voice squeals from one of the upper level rooms.

Field Engineer Fingibble shouts 'What is all this? You give me no choice, fools! I shall awaken the Mechalossus now! It is not fully operational, but it should be able to deal with the likes of you!'

Field Engineer Fingibble shouts 'Hah! I almost have it! I will activate the Mechalossus shortly and you will be crushed!'

Field Engineer Fingibble shouts 'I have it! Awaken, great Mechalossus, you have work to do!'

The Mechalossus shouts 'I am. . . I exist. . . My pain is great! Why do I hurt so? If I must hurt like this, so must others!'

The Mechalossus wakes up and begins fighting back. Upon killing The Mechalossus:

    You gain party experience!!
    The Mechalossus's corpse falls.
Your task 'Mechalossus' has been updated.

Speak with Gurtrude 0/1 (Fortress Mechanotus)

    You have entered Fortress Mechanotus.

You say, 'Hail, Gurtrude the Spymaster'

Gurtrude the Spymaster says 'Well done! You've saved many lives this day, for certainly that horrible creature would have killed many. Thank you.'
Your task 'Mechalossus' has been updated.
You barely managed to destroy Mechalossus in time. Hopefully they won't be building a replacement any time soon.

Your faction standing with Ak'Anon Strike Force V got better.

Once you have completed this task, you may request the next task in the series, "S.H.I.P. #4: Tactical Teleportation".

I tried to follow instructions/script and boss's hp got locked at 8%.

So, I decided to not follow instructions and zerg'ed the event without waiting for emotes. I was able to kill boss and completed that step. So, the mission is still buggy.
    Don't kill him too fast . . .

He poofed without giving credit for the task step. I got the message that "The Mechalossus Falls," but the task broke, so I had to restart it and kill more slowly.

I did this mission last night with SK, Monk, Bard, Shaman, Rogue, and Me (cleric). We are geared a bit better than most on server, basically MMM/BM3/Solt armor.

Our puller, the bard, had the mask illusion from the 1st mission. The Main guy spawns in the center of the room at the top of the elevator at zone in. He is huge. We rapid pulled all mobs in the room around him. He is not active at this point. As we engaged, some mobs repoped. Killed all those around him. Engaged Named at this point. He is non active as you DPS him. At approximately 75% one whirly add spawned. We only got 1 at a time and they were blue to level 80's. We mezzed and then killed any repops as MT dps named the whole time. Adds seem to be more time based than precentage based. Next was around 67-ish. He went active at 22%. He hits hard on a 30k+ 4K+ AC SK. Fast enough that DI went off in a few swings. Hit epic, and shaman switched to spam heals to help. Burned him in less than 60 secs. Bard mezzed 1 add and 1 repop. Dropped nothing but vendor junk. Got credit for task.

Important info. You might want to clear mobs around named last, so you have a good 15 mins to dps him before repops. Mobs around the wall, never aggroed us fighting him in the center. Only the middle and roamer repops did. I counted about 5 spawned adds and 3-5 repops. Save disciplines till 25% then burn him down. You could easily mezz all adds and just burn him straight thru if your group knows its roles.

what mask illusion are you talking about please ?
    positioning on Mechalossus position

We went up the elevator and cleared the right hand side of the room along the wall. We left the mobs on the left side of the room and on the back wall of the room up and positioned ourselves under the ramp on the right side of the room. As we DPSed the robot, adds spawned around the ramp and the chanter in our group mezzed them. Some of the mobs were also blue con and I believe that she charmed one of them for additional DPS.

We switched from the robot to killing adds.

When the robot was at 45% of his health, we held DPS and let the tank take the robot down to 40% hp to ensure that the tank would get immediate aggro. At 40% hp the robot went active and we burned him.

The group I was in was: SK, the SK's cleric box, chanter, ranger, rogue and necro.

A pick-up group of us tried this twice today.

First time... we cleared to the giant robot from the elevator lift and left the adds to the sides. We got him down to 80 when roamers and spawns ate ups. After my chanter was killed once, upon rez, we had adds. Since I still had rez effects and 3 adds in camp, I used my VP AA to boot the mobs away.(SIGH was disoriented, thought I shot them at giant robot. WRONG.) Unfortunately, it turns out that the adds on the side are not sleeping, so when they landed in the middle, we were swarmed and wiped. We removed selves from the mission and got it again.

Second time, went better. We cleared the room of spawns except for the giant robot and ran to the other side of the room before engaging. We got him down to 90 before adds started respawning. One of the heliocopter types was DB to my 80 chanter and was charmable, so I sicked him onto the main mob. Mobs seemed to spawn at each 5 percent, in addition to repops.. which appeared to repop after 20 min.. We battled the main robot down to 50 percent before a wave of mobs, looked like 2 spawns and 2 pops overwhelmed us. One of the pops was the red minotaur on the back wall. He is unmezzable, which we didnt know until he resisted and chewed thru the six of us. Would love more info on the engagement.

take the elevator up and robot is right there on first floor. we killed the adds around him. then we fought him down to about 60. we would switch between him and the adds he spawns to keep them killed off.

at 60 we had regular repops again so killed them off. while doing that he regened to 74. so we had one person stay on him while rest concentrated on adds.

he went active at 35 and we just had our chanter mez all adds from that point and burned him.
