Dwinn #4: An Orcish Ritual

This is the fourth of nine tasks in a quest arc for a +25 Purity augmentation. It begins with Dwinn Axeheaver who can be found in the Loping Plains in the Fang Breakers camp near the zone-in from the Steamfont Mountains at -1407, -3264.
You say, 'Hail, Dwinn Axeheaver' Dwinn Axeheaver says 'Blast! This book you brought me could be a cook book for all we know, though since ye say ye found it on an apprentice that seems unlikely. We need someone more experienced with bizarre languages to take a look at it. I happen to have just such a [person] working for me.' You say, 'A person?' Dwinn Axeheaver says 'I sent off Kassailla to investigate some strange occurrences at Wayunder Lake near the festival grounds. Seems some people say funny lights and such coming from the island in the middle of the lake. You should be able to find her out around the lake somewheres.' You have been assigned the task 'An Orcish Ritual'. Find and speak with Kassailla Flameleaf about the tome 0/1 (Loping Plains) You can find her at /loc -647, 1135. Southeast shoreline of the lake at the base of a large tree. Before 6pm game time, you see: You say, 'Hail, Kassailla Flameleaf' Kassailla Flameleaf says 'So you were sent here by Dwinn, may mites eat his beard. This whole thing is a waste of my time and talents if you ask me, but I've found out what he wanted, but it will be easier to show you than tell you. Come back at night and you'll see what I mean. After 6pm game time, you see: You say, 'Hail, Kassailla Flameleaf' Kassailla Flameleaf says 'Come to see what the rumors are about Amio? See the orcs out there on the island? They're responsible for everything you've heard about this area. They seem to be summoning the spirits of my ancestors and using them for who knows what purpose. Disrupt their ceremony for me and I will help translate the tome you carry and help in whatever other manner I can.' Disrupt the ceremony at the alter 0/1 (Loping Plains) Kill a bloodmoon mystic in the center of the altar to spawn High Shaman Gangus. This event spawns every night at 7pm and despawns at 5am, so the high shaman must be killed before 5 am. Return to Kassillia 0/1 (Loping Plains) You say, 'Hail, Kassailla Flameleaf' Kassailla Flameleaf says 'You have my thanks _____. Those rituals were an affront to my people and their ancestors. The root of this trouble comes from where these orcs have made their stronghold. It was once known as Faygannen Temple of the Vines and was the home of my people. Years ago the forces of Mayong arrived in the area and attacked the Temple. All of the priests and pages of the temple were slaughtered and the temple itself desecrated. We have not been able to retake the temple since then. But all that is an issue for another time. Let me see the tome you carry.' Give Kassaillia the tome to translate 0/1 (Loping Plains) Hand in an illegible tome that you received from dwinn after last task. Bring Kassaillia any texts that would help decipher the tome 0/1 (Loping Plains) Kassailla needs some help translating the tome. From what she can tell the tome is written in a variation of the runes used by Mayong's forces. If you could find any book or notes that contain the original rune dialect it should help her finish the translation. Loot a Shadowmane Spellbook (can be pre-looted), a random drop from any Shadowmane mob in Loping Plains, and turn it in to Kassailla. Kassailla Flameleaf takes a few moments to compare the sections of the spellbook with the tome. 'It appears that this tome contains details on a type of [crystal] used by the orcs to increase the power of their vile spells and undead creations.' You say, 'Crystal?' Kassailla Flameleaf says 'On their own, these crystals are just black stones, similar in appearance to obsidian. However when used correctly by these orcs it seems they are able to lend great power to their spells and undead. The only conclusion I can draw from this is the mysterious power of these orcs must be linked to their extensive use of these crystals. This is not the [worst part] of the tome though.' You say, 'Worst part?' Kassailla Flameleaf says 'There is a section in this book that mentions taking advantage of the spirits in Faygannen. I cannot bear the thought of my ancestor's spirits being tainted by these orcs. Return to Dwinn and tell him this news, along with my demand that something be done to eliminate these wretched fiends.' Return to Dwinn and tell him what you've found so far 0/1 (Loping Plains) You say, 'Hail, Dwinn Axeheaver' Dwinn Axeheaver says 'This is terrible news. Orcs are one thing, but all this talk of undead and draining spirits is another thing entirely. I hate the undead, avoid them at all costs if I can. I'll need to consider this for a time. While I do, I need you to investigate the orc camps to the west. See if you can find any new information out there and then return to me.' This ends your task 'An Orcish Ritual' and opens an accept box for the fifth task in the series, 'Assessing the Danger'. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The Namd that spawns in place of the mystic is verified as High Shamam Gangus
When people say they dispawn at 5AM game time, that means even in the middle of a fight.
So give yourself enough time to finish the mobs and the Named before they go poof. Just starting the battle before 5am isnt enough, you have to be able to finish it or the named might not pop.

The alter is the island in the middle of the lake near Kassailla.
There are 4 orcs + the mystic at the alter. I had 1 orc dead, 1 being kited with the mystic, and 2 left at the alter. When the mystic died, the named rushed me even with 3 other orcs still alive. Somehow it did not aggro the ones still at the alter.

The orc's around the alter spawn at 7pm game time.
They ALL have to be killed in order for the named to spawn. Once you have the named spawned you have until 3am to have him killed, otherwise he will despawn.
The named spawns on the WEST side of the alter, there on the little knoll.

Not so.. I killed just one of the four, then pulled the mystic off to the side. Immediately upon the Mystic's death, High Shaman Gangus popped near the waterline and rushed me. Pretty tough too, quad hits for 3K and cast a slow.

He spawns on the player that kills the mystic, I was nowhere near the knoll indicated when he spawned.
I did hail to Dwinn at this point and quest updated
