I was able to do this without doing any of the other quests beforehand. Got the drop from Arak Bladesoar (sp?) and turned it in to Shearon to get this quest. No other quests in HoS have been done.
Based on the fact that 5 turn-ins of this quest got me to kindly, while still being dubious to Bertox Chosen (and the only faction I'd gotten for both of them were the Aviaks I'd killed in HoS in the last few days), I'd say the faction hit for this quest is quite large. If you're going for CV faction, this quest is the way to go.

to repeat this do you have to get the drop to start the 'brownies' task do tht and then get this again? or does it just need abit of dialog to get again once completed once?
