This task begins with Bobbenpin in the Dragonscale Hills.

    You say 'Hail, Bobbenpin'

Bobbenpin says 'Well hello to you too adventurer! I have spent most of my days searching foreign lands for scrap metals. Recently while venturing back in Steamfont for more supplies, I saw a huge chunk of a flying fortree break off and fall around this area. I found where it landed but unfortunately there are many [clockworks] around it now.'

    You say 'Clockworks?'

You have been assigned the task 'Construction Junction, What's Your Function?'

Bobbenpin says 'Yes, clockworks. I have no clue what they are doing over there but I want that scrap metal. If you would be as kind as going out there and planting my claim flag at the site, I would definitely make it worth your time.'

    1. Stop the clockworks from continuing their activities 0/5 (Dragonscale Hills)

    Kill five clockworks.

    2. Plant Bobbenpin Scrapcatchers claim flag 0/1 (Dragonscale Hills)

This location is +3400, +2510 - an area in the northwestern part of the zone. You must be at least 70th level in order to plant the flag.

If you plant the flag in the wrong spot, you can go back to Bobbenpin and get a new flag by hailing him and saying clockworks.

    3. Return to Bobbenpin Scratchpatcher with your findings 0/1 (Dragonscale Hills)

Upon returning to Bobbenpin and hailing him:

Bobbenpin Scratchpatcher says, 'You have done well in finding out that the clockwork engineers are trying to gather materials from the fortress. Go out now as I think about our next steps.'

Your faction standing with Ak'Anon Strike Force V got better.

In case anyone else does as I did and plants the flag in the wrong spot, note that it's consumed in the process.
Going back to Bobbenpin, hailing him, and saying {clockworks] will get you a new flag on your cursor.
You have to be 70 to complete this

Yes you can get the quest at say 67, but to plant the flag you right click and use the Bobbionpin's banner like you would a clicky. IT"S MIN LVL 70. So, at 69 I get Insufficient lvl to use this item, after killing half the valley and clearning the spot.

Good Lord, what part of "/loc" do you people not understand? Someone plainly asked for the /loc, and instead, we get discussions of the geography, and even commentary about the exact shade of the color of the ground.

This isn't a difficult question, folks. If your toon is high enough to do the quest, you're high enough to know what "/loc' means.

Location 3400, 2510 is where I planted mine. In the middle of the three smaller gears.

NW corner of zone. Pretty much in the middle of the 3 gears. Ground looks like it may be blood stained rather than brown. 3 clockwork spiders spawn there with a clockwork gnome roaming around.

I deleted the piece also. I petitioned, and the GM verified the date I deleted the piece and refunded it to me. Just submit a petition and you can get it back. :-)

I also deleted the weight compression disc. It won't give me the quest again and the rise of the machines quest doesn't give the reward. anyone know a way around this

This quest is likely named after an old educational cartoon from about 1969.

It was supposed to educate little ones in the proper use of English and the title was "Conjunction Junction what's your Function". It had little word-ppl running around with the letters "BUT", "AND", "OR" and little legs on them, and a catchy tune so that ppl would remember it. Its odd that the devs came up with this 40-year old cartoon.

On the same series of cartoons is one that has been played more often, and that one is how a 'Bill' becomes a 'Law'. It is a little dude who is not much more than a scrolled up piece of paper with legs and arms and some eyes that runs around in the House and Senate committees and finally gets signed by the President into a law. At which time he changes form into a diploma of sorts with a ribbon and a stamp.

I don't find it odd at all, the schoolhouse rock series was still being played during saturday morning cartoons into the late '80s. Many people in all different age ranges grew up with Schoolhouse Rock.

When you complete "Construction Junction, What's Your Function?" you can go back and get a second mission called "Rise of the Machines." This is essentially the same mission: you have to plant a flag (same place) and kill clockworks except that now you have to kill 10 of the clockworks instead of 5.

Reward for rise of the machines is same faction and exp, no other rewards.

I think what i did when i did this quest was.

Went to the NW section. Killed all 5 of the clockworks running around that didnt con amiable, and then went into that area and planted the flag.
I think that was the only time u could plant is if all 5 r down in one spot, i could be wrong.
Also there can be multiple areas, like areas with clockwork running around the big pieces of gears and so forth. Though i have not tried getting the quest again and trying the possible different places.
    cant plant either

Plant it in the NW corner area, there is a brown patch with about 3 clockwork spiders on it. Click from inventory, if you have insta cast invis, you can get the flag and re-invis before the mobs aggro.
