This raid expedition begins with Scout Miigle at the Wayfarer camp in South Ro.

You say, 'Hail, Scout Miigle'

Scout Miigle says 'Hail ______. We are looking for a brave crew of adventures to assist us. We must act quickly to save a prominent Guktan from the depths of Deepest Guk. We haven't heard from him since he went down there to explore the odd occurrences. If you can rally the call of your friends perhaps you can help us with this serious [problem].'

You say, 'A serious problem?'

Scout Miigle says 'Very bad news! Bidip Moktu, one of the leading officials in Gukta, has been captured by a Witness of Hate! We have sent a regiment to rescue him but they have not reported back. We need you to assist us in rescuing Bidip Moktu and putting a stop to whatever unnatural magic is occurring in Deepest Guk. Please say you'll return our people safely. Are you [interested]?'

You say, 'I am interested'

Scout Miigle says 'I hope to so Bidip Moktu again soon, and in one piece.'

Deepest Guk: The Rescue is now available to you.

The entrance to the instanced zone is found in Innothule Swamp (marked on compass).

LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered Deepest Guk: The Rescue.

Bitle Cogswin is found just inside.

You say, 'Hail, Bitle Cogswin'

Bitle Cogswin says 'Ah yes you must be the group of volunteers sent by the wayfaring brotherhood. We have a very serious situation here and little time to resolve it. The prisoners have been placed in three separate rooms and each is guarded by Lich Rtrangi's minions. I am ready to teleport people to each area when you are ready, it would be wise to split into 3 groups of 12. I must warn you that once you have been teleported Rtrangi will be alerted so you must be prepared for an onslaught of enemies. Amongst these waves of minions please keep an eye out for the Ritualist Summoners. If they are able to complete the ritual preparations Rtrangi's power will triple. Each group of 12 must work in unison to destroy each Ritual Guardian at the same time and prevent the Ritualist Summoners from reaching Rtrangi, or he will be successful. When you are ready please tell me you wish to go to the vine room, the crevice room, or the aqueducts and I will port you there. Choose your 3 parties carefully.'

You say, 'I wish to go to the vine room'

Bitle Cogswin says 'I will send you there now. Please hurry we are running out of time.'

Split into three groups and port to the three different areas – vine room, crevice room and aqueducts. There will be a lot of mobs in each area. Aqueducts area was the largest so have more people in that group. Find the Ritual Guardian in each area and kill all three together.

Your victory has weakened a shroud of magic cloaking the dungeon's treasure.

Bitle Cogswin shouts, 'Now you have done it. The ritual has failed now all that is left is to destroy Rtrangi so that he can never try this again.'

Lich Rtrangi shouts, 'The time has come to make the final preparations. Go now my summoners and prepare the prisoners, let nothing stop you from executing your goal. Once you have returned to me I shall complete the ceremony.

Decayed flesh and puss fly past you as the ritual summoners body falls to the floor his trapped soul released from its cursed shell.

Head west and kill Lich Rtrangi.

Fight information needed, as well as names of any quest items, additional rewards, etc.

Upon winning:

Your victory has shattered the shroud of magic surrounding the dungeon's treasure

This is an easy, straight forward raid if you use a high lvl character just to get the achievement. Ignore the 'simultaniously' part. Just use the npc to port to the Ritual Guardian areas one after another. Clean up, kill the Ritual Guardian, gate back to zone in. The hardest bit is to notice that the Ritual Guardian is already killed, once I did not see the kill happen, another time I did not even see the Ritual Guardian at all. Once everything is dead, head to the west and kill Lich Rtrangi. I got a skull shaped box at Lich Rtrangi and two regular chests in the room opposite of Lich Rtrangi.

We've done this twice now on the Agnarr server. Our first attempt was an absolute bloodbath with us getting slaughtered. This may be the single hardest LDoN raid available for the era in terms of mob tuning and raid mechanics. We went back a second time tonight and were able to finally beat it and obtain all 3 chests.

First, missing bestiary entries. Some of these have bestiary entries for zones that aren't the raid version of The Rescue.

Level 64 - 67

a Witness of Hate seer
a Witness of Hate soulreaper
a bleary Dar shaper
a cackling Dar assassin
a cursed Korta research
a cursed burrower
a cursed convoker
a cursed spectral shaper
a dazzling oculus
a decaying Yunta witchdoctor
a doomed Yunta witchdoctor
a forlorn Darta soldier
a frenzied minion
a ghoulish Dar warrior
a miserable Jinta phantasm
a reanimated Shinta champion
an anguished Darta soldier
an unsanctified Korta priest

Level 80

Lich Rtrangi - 800k hp, AE rampage

Abilities

Lich Rtrangi has a surprising number of abilities he can use.

Cessation of Courage - https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/spell.html?spell=4433
Cessation of Life - https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/spell.html?spell=4435
Cessation of Motility - https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/spell.html?spell=4459
Cessation of Power - https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/spell.html?spell=4431
Cessation of Vitality - https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/spell.html?spell=4434
Nova of Hate - https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/spell.html?spell=4463

Zone geometry blocks his abilities. He spawns at a corner that is pretty much perfect for tanking him. Healers have a cubby they can hide right outside his room on the same wall where he spawns.

I was not able to get pictures of mobs as this clear was literal chaos but I hope to have it refined enough I can do some more documentation and pick up missing mobs.

Crevice appears to be the safest and easiest of the rooms. There are only 2 or 3 mobs that will aggro on port up and they can clear to the first ritual guardian without much issue. Vine is a bit of a different story and has several mobs that will aggro upon port, so they need to be on their game.

Aqueducts is an entirely different story. There are a large number of pathing mobs in aqueducts which can then social nearby rooms and result in a massive train upon port. Any group going to aqueducts should immediately try to pile in to the corner at the dead end, as they port in front of a door. We had approximately 16 mobs within 5 seconds of porting. This is the place to send your best groups to as this is almost like trying to break in to a level 65 version of Fear.

Solo'd this for fun and for a shot at the type 3 augment. I ignored the recommendation to kill the 3 bosses together and just slaughtered everything I came across. With aoe it's easy since everything aggro's quickly. Only found 2 chests, and had to search for the second one. Scouted the entire zone for a third, hence slaughtered every mob in the zone. Frenzied minions were still up after I killed the Lich, the "big boss" so maybe I messed up the mechanics and missed out on a 3rd chest. Oh well, was fun, and fascinating dungeon design. Puts WoW dungeons, with their cookie cutter approach, to shame. Lot of fun, considering I'm playing around in a years-old xpac here.

Rtrangi`s Withered Remains chest appears where you kill Lich Rtrangi, at the south end of the western Y-shaped room. The other two chests spawn at the north end of the same Y-shaped room.

Scout Miigle gives the Mission , just clear the lower side of the zone and collect your loot at the end Takes 30 mins or so

There are three named , First in the room on the east ,, then go North then West
Second named is West -South, Third named in straight North,, then you are done

I attempted this today but the Guardians were unable to be damaged. I cleared the bottom half of the zone (connecting rooms to the Guardians).

Any insight?
