This group mission is the fifth in a series of five. It begins with Mer (click for map image) in the Barren Coast at approximate /location -190, -45.
Pre-requisites for Requesting: - Completion of "Mer's Lost Love" - Completion of "Piecing Things Together" - Completion of "The Grim News" - Completion of "If You Can't Beat 'em, Bribe 'em" At the end of the previous task, a siren named "Aymee Coldpsalm" told you that Renne may still be alive... You say, 'Hail, Mer' Mer says 'I pray our little ruse [works]. You should be prepared to defend yourself in any case though. The siren legends don't describe them as particularly trustworthy.' You say, 'Works?' Mer says 'Well, they seem pretty serious about those charts. Lucky I've been raised around sailors, isn't it? It would be a betrayal to give them the real charts, but look here. While you were gone I had these replicas made up through the cartographer. They look as official as can be, but the relevant information has been fabricated! They will never know the difference. Please try again. Take these to their leader and bargain for Renne's life!' You have been assigned the task 'Never Trust a Siren'. You've negotiated a deal for Renne's life. Bring the shipping lane charts to Cereltynne, Queen of the Sirens, and trade them for Renne's freedom. Whoever requests the task receives "Shipping Lane Charts". Purchase tickets to Maiden's Grave and catch the boat 0/1 (Barren Coast) Dockmaster Weatherby says 'You look like you've been at sea on a dangerous mission for a while? Perhaps you plan to head back out, in which case you're going to need to purchase another ticket before boarding the Isabeau.' Buy a "Seafarer's Ticket: Maiden's Grave" from any of the Dockmasters along the coastline and keep it in your inventory. When the ship docks, step onto it and wait for it to sail out to the Buried Sea. Upon zoning, you'll find yourself in an instanced version of the island. (Next to you is a rowboat that serves as your zone-out.) Speak with Cereltynne, the siren queen 0/1 (Maiden's Grave) Cereltynne is a siren located in the center of the island. She has 2x "a siren guardian" near her (Level 75), and a pirate named "Renne". It is necessary to clear 7-8 sirens to get to her. You say, 'Hail, Cereltynne' Cereltynne's eyes size each of you up as you approach what must be her throne. A beaten and bruised man dressed in torn sailor's garb lays crumpled at her feet. She speaks in a raspy tone of cold confidence. "What have you brought to me mammals? Show me quickly before I grow bored and feed you to my sisters." Give the shipping plans to Cereltynne 0/1 (Maiden's Grave) Cereltynne peers over the charts for several moments. "These will prove most useful. You have my thanks mammals. Pity that I am not in a generous mood or you might have left the island alive." You hear a chorus of wicked laughter slither across the air as the queen and her sisters turn towards you with malice in their eyes. On handing over the "Shipping Lane Charts", the two siren guardians attack. Cereltynne, herself, does not attack at this point. The guardians hit for a max ~1,200 and are mezzable and stunnable. Once they are killed, Cereltynne can be aggro'd (she is NOT auto-aggro, though). Kill Queen Cereltynne 0/1 (Maiden's Grave) Cereltynne has ~65,000 hitpoints, hits for a max ~1,200, is slowable, mezzable, stunnable, rootable, and snareable. She does not summon. Speak with Renne 0/1 (Maiden's Grave) You say, 'Hail, Renne' Renee groans as you turn him over. His eyes are nearly swollen shut and dried blood is splattered across much of his face. He looks over at the corpse of Cereltynne and you see the hint of a small smile cross his lips. Thank you strangers, you have no idea how much I wanted to see that witch dead and bloody. I only wish I could have helped deliver a few blows. I don't suppose you'd be so kind as to give me a lift back to the mainland? Mer must be terribly worried about me by now.' This completes the task. If you need a manual method of zoning out: Near the zone-in area is a rowboat that you can click to port you back to the Buried Sea: You get into the longboat and row out. You are quickly picked up by one of the many merchant ships sailing the waters of the Buried Sea and delivered safely to the dock on Jardel's Hook... Rewards: - Doubloons (varies) - Faction with Blacksail Smugglers (+20) While Mer no longer responds to hails, you can request any of her five tasks at any time by saying "works". | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
