After the takeover of the city of Firiona Vie by the forces of Lanys T`Vyl, Luminare Pasinia may be found outside the city on a hill at /loc -249, -2351, 342.

In 2016 on TLP (Ragefire with Kunark enabled) she is located at -3955.45, 2626.09, -77.97 (in the building with caster GMs and spell vendors).

You say, 'Hail, Luminare Pasinia'

Luminare Pasinia waves her hands as if to cast a spell. 'GREETINGS!! I am the Luminare of Firiona by decree of his royal highness, King Thex,I am here to research spells and artifacts. I have much to do. I welcome any enchanter who offers to [assist the great Luminare].'

You say, 'I will assist the great Luminare.'

Luminare Pasinia says 'And great I am, indeeed!! Alas, not great enough to be everywhere at once. I would gladly reward you if you would [collect components] for me.'

You say, 'I will collect components for you.'

Luminare Pasinia says 'Then go into the wilds beyond the outpost and upon your return, you shall give to me the powder of Nok, heart of ice. Ton warrior totem, and a sabertooth tiger mane. This shall earn you knowledge of an enchanter spell I recently scribed.'

1) Powder of Nok - Nok Shaman Powder (identifies as "Powder of Nok") comes from a "froglok nok shaman" in the north area of this zone. It looks like black pixie dust.

2) Heart of Ice - This is dropped by various icebone skeletons in the Lake of Ill Omen, the Swamp of No Hope, or Kurn's Tower.

3) Ton Warrior Totem - This is dropped by various frogloks found in the froglok city in the Swamp of No Hope, and identifies as "Key of Dai -I.". They spawn apparently in several places but aren't very common.

4) Sabertooth Mane - These drop off the sabertooth Tigers found in Lake of Ill Omen, the Overthere, and Trakanon's Teeth.

Bring these items back to Luminare:

Luminare Pasinia says 'Do you not remember that I asked for powder of Nok, a Ton warrior totem, a heart of ice and a sabertooth tiger mane? Incomplete deeds shall fetch no enchanter reward.'
Luminare Pasinia says 'Do you not remember that I asked for powder of Nok, a Ton warrior totem, a heart of ice and a sabertooth tiger mane? Incomplete deeds shall fetch no enchanter reward.'
Luminare Pasinia says 'Do you not remember that I asked for powder of Nok, a Ton warrior totem, a heart of ice and a sabertooth tiger mane? Incomplete deeds shall fetch no enchanter reward.'
Luminare Pasinia places the items into a sack and removes a scroll from her robe. This is yours. A spell I discovered and translated for one with less intelligence than the great Luminare of Firiona Vie. You may kiss my feet now.'
Your faction standing with Inhabitants of Firiona Vie got better.
Your faction standing with Emerald Warriors got better.
Your faction standing with Storm Guard got better.
Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis got worse.
Your faction standing with Pirates Of Gunthak got worse.
You gain experience!!

You receive a scroll called Vision of Sebilite, which scribes as the spell "Illusion Iksar."

I got tired of the exile camp too. Decided to go after a krup guard in Froggie Town. Clicked my Tolan's Helm for sup camo, got wolfie form with my dagger, slipped into Frogtown like an assassin in the night, found a krup guard, killed him.

First time, totem dropped. :)

# Apr 12 2002 at 10:07 AM Rating: Default
umm..first off, you'd have to get your dagger to proc GWF before you casted sup camo. Second, you are referring to Tolan's helm. Ranger only armor that drops in KC on Kunark. This armor procs at 45. SO therefore, if you were telling the truth then you would be over 45 and if that was the case, why have sup camo at all? I don't believe anything in the zone would aggro on you :o)

At lvl 51, I still get aggro'd upon every time a froglok sees me. I guess that lvl 45 theory of yours is just that... a theory.

Ton Warrior Totem

Froglok Krup Guard - 1st one I tried in the Froglok village at neg2000, neg1000 had it. Sure beats sitting around that stupid bandit camp waiting for a ton warrior.
Totem from Krup Guard
# Mar 02 2002 at 2:33 AM Rating: Default
I killed about 6,7 Ton Warriors around the iksar camp but no totem. Since it was mentioned, I went to the Krup Guard near Durgoz while waiting for more Ton Warriors to spawn. The Krup Guard was up and dropped the totem.
Help made easy

I just finished this quest on 2-23-02 and here is what I found:

1. Heart of Ice - common drop off skels in LOIO
2. Tiger mane - common drop off tigers in LOIO
3. Ton Warrior Totem - killed everything I could see in frogtown and did not see the Ton Warrior and after clearing the camp nothing dropped it. Went to Outcast Iksar camp to the north and killed them ... looked out of camp and there he was standing around 2500, 0. Killed him and he dropped it first time.
4. Powder of Nok - went to the giant camp in NE corner of FV and killed a few giants, chased a misc mob over the hill next to the giant huts heading west and saw a Nok Shaman. Killed it and got the powder (black) and headed back to the giant huts and another spawned and it too had the powder.

I did this with a 49 chanter solo. I tried in my mid 20's with a ranger druid and a bard .. we died several times and gave up. You will get nailed with adds in FV suggest you are with a group in 30's. This is not a quest that a 20 chanter can do very easy, it is a nice spell but you dont need to have it. I am 49 and have not needed it yet. I just wanted it.

Frustrating Quest
# Feb 03 2002 at 4:55 PM Rating: Good
This is the most poorly designed quest I have seen yet. Though the spell is for level 20, its nearly impossible to get it until you're in your high thirties and have some good help. This is because those froggies (though green) agro like crazy with evrything around them. FV is not an easy place to hunt. Additionally, the Nok Shaman powder may or may not be "shaman powder". I have yet to see "nok powder" drop off a Nok shaman, but shaman powder drops all the time. So, I tuned in my items today (all at once) and was told they were not what she was looking for - there-by losing all the items that took me 20 levels to get. Anyway, I know some people completed this quest in 20 mintues with their uber friends or twinked characters, but for the average enchanter out there, this quest simply is not worth doing. Just my opinion. I wish you all luck.

Try getting Concussion. Damn near impossible to get the skelly in CoM without a high level Enchanter to charm and a tank to beat off the adds you get.
And you *will* get adds. Golems, Phantoms, Skellys you name it.
In comparison the Iksar Illusion is a doddle. I'm not saying it's an easy quest, I'm just saying there are worse ones out there.
RE: Frustrating Quest
# May 25 2002 at 11:43 PM Rating: Default
You say this quest is "The most poorly designed quest"? Why dont' you take a look a the wizard Concussion quest. It's a level 39 spell the requires you to go to TT (Easy, the skelly is non agro, zone is 30 to 50 with lots of see invis mobs.), KC (Fiarly hard, lot so mob to agro on you, zone is 40 to 60 with see invis, living and undead mobs.), and CoM (Impossible with out a chanter or necro, and fairly high level at that, to charm the skelly, zone is 35 to 55 with both living and undead mobs.) I know wizards who are level 60 and do not have Concussion because they are having problems getting the CoM skelly. I'm doing this quest for a friend of mine at 50 and the only problem I have had is tracking down the totem. Personaly, I think a fair quest. Would have made a few changes mysel if I did it (Why all the killing of frogs and not iksars??), but other then that, it's not bad.

I got mine off of the Krup guard. I just went up the ramp to froggy village (loc neg 1200, neg 2100)invisible and looked around until I found a Krup guard. There were about 5-6 other frogs in the room, so I walked to a spot that was somewhat distant from any frogs. I buffed there (including Rune III) and summoned pet (Runed him too). Then I went in a mezzed the lot of them and killed the Krup. I got the totem first drop. The rest of the room broke mezz and started to aggro so I Gated out and left poor Zobaner to fend for himself :-).

Okay unless you are in your 30's it's gonna be hard to get in and break the room. I suppose it is possible for a group of mid 20's to fight your way in and grab the totem, but you will likely be aggroed by a ton (pardon the pun) of frogs. I don't know what the odds of survival would be. You might just be better off going to the Iksar Outcast camp. Now here I have a theory. I believe that the odd spawns are all on the same table. This includes the Venomous lampreys, the skellies and possibly any other Froglok in the area. Just keep killing those creatures and anything else that is not common in the area. I killed 2 venomous Lampreys and then I got a Ton to spawn. He only had the broken totem so that's when I went to the village to try my luck. Hope this helps my fellow enchanters a little!

I cant believe it sells for so much i got it with my lvl 36 iksar monk no problem... course i couldnt turn in the items with this character but i had my lil lvl 10 chanter camped nearby to loot the items after i killed the mob with my monk... and grabbed it with my chanter before it rotted 8) it was easy for my monk the ton warriors still gave me xp but they were no threat and so did the nok shaman but he was easy too i just zoned into fv from the swamp by the giant camp ... there r frogs crawling all over the little forest near this zone.. and i pulled the shaman back so that he wouldnt cause adds when he ran... it took 4 spawns of the ton warrior to get to totem that was prolly the most annoying part of the quest hehe ... the 2 items u get in loio r the easiest, i just bought the tiger mane off nubbs.. both mobs u need here spawn around the wind mill in loio... u dont need a group to do this if u have a mid thirsties character... depending on what class u r of course hehe 8)

Ok, I am a 41 Bard, and my real-life fiancee is a 24th lvl Enchanter.. I found this info on the illusion and thought I would try it..I got the spell for her (yes a non-enchater turning in 4 items will get the spell) then tried it again to see if i could get it again.

here are some tips..

TRACK TRACK TRACK... I tracked the Froglok Ton Warrior and he had the totem (both times) the same for the Nok Shaman (there are 4 types of shaman in FV)

Snare/Root Them darn frogs is quick!

Dont chase the Shaman too far or Drolvargs will be on ya.

Result: first spell 2hours of time.. went to fiancee.. 2nd spell 30 mins.. sold for 500pp which is going rate on Zeb for the spell I sold in in LESS than 2 mins (shouted twice) in the EC tunnel..
Multiquestable
# Nov 05 2001 at 8:54 PM Rating: Decent
I was able to get 3 of the pieces for the quest, the sabretooth mane, the heart of ice, and ton warrior totem. A guildmate happened to have the Powder of Nok. We tried to hand the items in together, what I had, and what he had. I got the spell. So it is possible to multi quest the spell. Also, if you do it this way, you must turn in the items in order the way Luminaire says. From top to bottom, the top being the first thing to the bottom being the last.

As a side note, Myself (Level 37) and a Level 36 Bard, were able to get the Ton Warrior Totem fairly easy. Maybe just luck, but only took use on kill at Iksar bandit camp.

Just my 2cp worth. Also for the person who wanted to know what it is worth, i have seen it go for as little as 500 plat to 1k plat.

Good luck on those who try it. It is something for a small group in mid 30's to low 40's. Nothing a level 20 chanter could even dream of.

FV ton totem
# Oct 24 2001 at 10:30 AM Rating: Decent
For what its worth, I got a Ton Warrior totem in FV about 3 days ago. I was in the caves headed to the dreadlands, and what did I see but a Ton Froglock Warrior strolling along. So I drop him. And, much to my surprise, he has a ton warrior totem! Since Frogs are very rare over this far in FV (though being common as dirt elsewhere in the zone) I figure he has to spawn somewhere in those tunnels. If we can figure out where he came from, this might be a safer way of getting the totem.

My guess would be that maybe he chased someone to the zone, so he was around in the cave.
would be cool if it was a spawn though

Did this quest solo with a 25 druid with 1 death on the Nok Powder...

Powder was the hardest but the ton totem took forever. Killed on Krup guard.. no totem... took 11 ton warriors to give up the totem.

GL all.

Hmm, why does it seem from these posts that this quest can only be done realistically by level 45+ characters when the reward is a level 20 spell? I dont think anyone can count on ever getting this spell on the FV server because of the trivial loot code....

You'd think they'd make these things a little more possible to do.
RE: Grrrr
# Feb 24 2002 at 8:40 AM Rating: Default
Well as a lvl 30 enchanter i am having no problems killing mobs invovled on the FV server. The ton warriors con dark blue to me so no trivial loot there. Personnaly outside of the time invovled tracking down the various mobs to kill seems like pretty easy quest to do as a 30 enchanter solo. lvl 25 grouped i would imagine would be easy.
RE: Grrrr
# Feb 06 2002 at 12:15 PM Rating: Decent
There's ways around trivial loot. Basically, it goes like this. Two groups go in: a high level group with a tank, healer, and rooter and a group of the level that can loot the mob with a good mix of all classes. The higher level grup draws aggro and taunts while the lower levels do the necessary damage to the mob to ensure their group is the one that kills it.

After that, the lower level group loots the corpse, then gives the higher level group the item. I built my Firiona Vie guild expressly around being able to circumvent TL in this manner.

And that's the story of how my level 19 ranger and a level 18 wizard got Trumpy Irontoe's head, and it will work with any other mob in the game that's level prevents a higher level group from getting the special items off it.
Krup Guards
# Oct 22 2001 at 6:35 PM Rating: Default
I see several references to "Krup Guards" and a tunnel leading to "dugroz". The bestiary has no listing for a Krup guard and eqatlas doesn't have a zone called dugroz. Can someone please provide specific information about what level a krup guard is and where that tunnel is located?
Thanks,
Lepidus, 35 Enchanter - Bertox
RE: Krup Guards
# Jan 24 2002 at 12:52 AM Rating: Decent
There may not always be a krup guard at this location, I might have just been lucky but.....

Dugroz is who you turn your jade prodaki spear and xalgoz fang into to get a key to Howling Stones. He is in the swamp of no hope (zone) and is in a tunnel near the Trak's Tooth zone line. I don't have the exact loc but the entrance to the tunnel to Trak's tooth is about 1100, -3500. There are other frog in the tunnel with durgoz (the krup guard was right next to him) so you may need a little help depending on your level.

All of these mobs were green to me at 51 and had about 800hp. The Krup guard dropped the totem and some shield, I am pretty happy and I am about to go finish this quest. (finally!)

Most annoying quest of my life
# Oct 18 2001 at 10:22 PM Rating: Default
I have been attempting to do this quest, on and off, since my enchanter hit 25/30, and have died every time when trying for the stupid totem.
(solo, as a chanter when the pet is weak, it's rough.)
The last time I went, at level 47, I brought a 55 druid with me for his tracking skill. We finally found a few ton warriors, (first time in almost a year that I'd seen them - no comments on how slow I level please, I'm a chanter and have to deal with death often enough), but they only dropped the broken pieces. In an attempt to go to the frog city, someone had apparantly been trying to do the druid epic and failed, or us killing the frogs pissed him off, but ullump whatever was highly upset at us.
Apparantly he runs very fast, (sow level, i believe), because I was dead in less than 3 hits, and the druid barely escaped with 18hps. I'm going to try once more now that I'm 50 and have that "uber" level 49 pet I'd heard so much about but haven't yet had the chance to use, then I'm just going to buy it.
This quest, besides being the most annoying one of my life, is insanely hard for one illusion.

Ton Warrior Totem
# Oct 03 2001 at 9:31 AM Rating: Default
HAving camped the Iksar bandit area looking for the Ton warrior and only getting pieces of a totem I decided to look for the Krup guard. I tracked him with my Bard and found him in the frog city. He did indeed drop the totem.
Ton warrior totem
# Sep 28 2001 at 7:35 AM Rating: Excellent
Ok I did this quest twice now with my 58 bard. Simple.

With bard speed (song of travel and a good drum) I can fly through FV into SONH and get the totem EASY. Let me just say that I have noticed several quests in the past being the same way, if you look in the right places you can finish the quest a lot faster. For example cannibalize2 quest spell. Go to Timorous Deep to pickup the crushed diamond on the ground of the Golra island. Instead of doing a lengthy quest just to get that component. For the ton warrior totem in SONH, just go to the Froglok Village. Up the ramp entrance to village, 2nd building on the right. Inside you will find about 4 frogloks. 1 or 2 of which will be a froglok krup guard. Kill it and it almost always drops a ton warrior totem !!

I did this whole quest in 20 mins. at most. Twice. So I doubt it was just luck. Of course being a high level bard I can move through zones ridiculously fast so don't expect to finish this quest that quickly. :) Still, there won't be any camping for items, namely the totem.

For the rest of the components I just used tracking to find sabretooth tigers. The tigresses don't seem to drop the mane. The heart of ice comes off an icebone skeleton. Look around the sarnak fort/FM entrance area for those or the skeleton building near windmill. Easy. Drops almost every time.

Next is nok shaman powder (black). You can find nok shamans up almost all the time but usually only 1 or maybe 2 will be up at one time. Look in FV at the area with a cliff and terrain different from the surrounding area. Looks kind of like a section of Field of Bone. There will be a ton of spawn at the cliff and the spawn rate is instantaneous, if you kill something another will spawn immediately.

If you're facing the cliff from below, it's easiest to move all the way to the left corner and above. The key here is recognizing pathing. Mobs will run singly to the far corner here and just stop and stand for a bit. This is your opportunity to tag one then run back up and kill it. Regardless of level, if you fight under the cliff where all the frogs path, they will aggro on you and you'll die. So staying at the corner and waiting for singles to stop at that spot is the best. You don't have to wait but a few seconds for another one to show up after you killed one. It's very easy. I killed 5 to 6 frogs in a matter of a minute until a froglok nok shaman showed up.

The nok shaman powder (black) and the ton warrior totem drop about 50% of the time. This is from killing krup guards however not froglok ton warriors.

Hope this helps. :)
