After the takeover of the city of Firiona Vie by the forces of Lanys T`Vyl, Luminare Pasinia may be found outside the city on a hill at /loc -249, -2351, 342.

In 2016 on TLP (Ragefire with Kunark enabled) she is located at -3955.45, 2626.09, -77.97 (in the building with caster GMs and spell vendors).

You say, 'Hail, Luminare Pasinia'

Luminare Pasinia waves her hands as if to cast a spell. 'GREETINGS!! I am the Luminare of Firiona by decree of his royal highness, King Thex,I am here to research spells and artifacts. I have much to do. I welcome any enchanter who offers to [assist the great Luminare].'

You say, 'I will assist the great Luminare.'

Luminare Pasinia says 'And great I am, indeeed!! Alas, not great enough to be everywhere at once. I would gladly reward you if you would [collect components] for me.'

You say, 'I will collect components for you.'

Luminare Pasinia says 'Then go into the wilds beyond the outpost and upon your return, you shall give to me the powder of Nok, heart of ice. Ton warrior totem, and a sabertooth tiger mane. This shall earn you knowledge of an enchanter spell I recently scribed.'

1) Powder of Nok - Nok Shaman Powder (identifies as "Powder of Nok") comes from a "froglok nok shaman" in the north area of this zone. It looks like black pixie dust.

2) Heart of Ice - This is dropped by various icebone skeletons in the Lake of Ill Omen, the Swamp of No Hope, or Kurn's Tower.

3) Ton Warrior Totem - This is dropped by various frogloks found in the froglok city in the Swamp of No Hope, and identifies as "Key of Dai -I.". They spawn apparently in several places but aren't very common.

4) Sabertooth Mane - These drop off the sabertooth Tigers found in Lake of Ill Omen, the Overthere, and Trakanon's Teeth.

Bring these items back to Luminare:

Luminare Pasinia says 'Do you not remember that I asked for powder of Nok, a Ton warrior totem, a heart of ice and a sabertooth tiger mane? Incomplete deeds shall fetch no enchanter reward.'
Luminare Pasinia says 'Do you not remember that I asked for powder of Nok, a Ton warrior totem, a heart of ice and a sabertooth tiger mane? Incomplete deeds shall fetch no enchanter reward.'
Luminare Pasinia says 'Do you not remember that I asked for powder of Nok, a Ton warrior totem, a heart of ice and a sabertooth tiger mane? Incomplete deeds shall fetch no enchanter reward.'
Luminare Pasinia places the items into a sack and removes a scroll from her robe. This is yours. A spell I discovered and translated for one with less intelligence than the great Luminare of Firiona Vie. You may kiss my feet now.'
Your faction standing with Inhabitants of Firiona Vie got better.
Your faction standing with Emerald Warriors got better.
Your faction standing with Storm Guard got better.
Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis got worse.
Your faction standing with Pirates Of Gunthak got worse.
You gain experience!!

You receive a scroll called Vision of Sebilite, which scribes as the spell "Illusion Iksar."

Anorien's post regarding the drops and spawns is excellent!

Dark races will not have problems doing this quest with Illusion: any light race (actually, not sure about FV faction if you have chosen an evil diety). Faction spells are not needed as long as you're indifferent or better.

This quest IS MQ'able, I did it yesterday with a lvl 20 enchanter in my guild. I had the ton warrior totem in bank and he had the other components. We went to FV and I turned in totem, other enchanter turned in the rest and got the scroll.

Definately not soloable at lvl 20, unless you want to hang out in zones asking to loot needed items.

No major benefits using this Illusion. Yes, it's cool to look like a lizard and have a swishing tail. Yes, if you don't have a diety you can walk around in Cabilis unmolested. However, you do not get the Iksar hp regen or innate swimming skill (that I know of), and the only reason I've found yet to even go to Cabilis is to kill a mob for part of my epic.
What I did

Yes, you can get the manes from LOIO which is nice. Also, I have a kos DEF that did this, so the thing written about illusions is false, whihc makes since, otherwise DEF Enc could never do this.

Just got around to doing the quest today (20th april, 2004) at 65 I had no issues with it. But here are a few notes

1. Do the Totem first, Icebones will spawn at the camp while you are killing everything in sight so there is a chance you will get the ice heart there.
2. I killed about 10 warriors before I got the totem.

Since they don't like me in FV, what's the best way to do this quest as a DE?

If you are an enchanter, then cast an illusion (some good race) on yourself, and a faction spell as well wouldn't hurt.
FV near DL tunnel is best.
# Jul 13 2003 at 12:46 PM Rating: Good
The area is infested with those drachnids, which might be an anathema to all the lvl 20-30 people going to LoIO, but higher level folks have no problem.

Personally, I hunt those drachnids a lot for spider silk, and I see the ton warrior on a regular basis - about every 15-20 min or so. And he drops the totem almost every time.
RE: FV near DL tunnel is best.
# Apr 30 2004 at 10:54 AM Rating: Decent
I'll confirm it as well. I'm level 65 enchanter and I go through the FV tunnel on a regular basis on my way to LoIO and every once in a while I see the frog waddling trough the first part of the passage. When I kill him he drops the totem every time which then makes me want to cry because I killed *legions* of the dang things in another part of the zone when I needed it at level 30.
RE: FV near DL tunnel is best.
# Aug 16 2003 at 4:04 AM Rating: Decent
Just confirming what you just stated. The only reason I ever did this quest was because the warrior you speak of aggroed me coming out of DL. He dropped the totem which I let rott a couple times until I decided to check what it was for. I have since done this quest quite a few times. BTW when did they change the name of the spell? I thought it used to be called Vision of Sebelite or something like that.

The spell scroll is called "Visions of Sebilite". After you put it in your spell book, it becomes "illusion Iksar".

My level 42 Ranger has done this quest about 30 times since about level 32 and my level 25 Shaman has done it once. I've done it in as short a time as 20 minutes, and the longest it takes me at this point is about 1.5 hours if I have bad luck with the Ton Warrior Totem. I've done it as often as four times in one day. I sell the scrolls in the Bazaar for 400pp and it has never taken more than 24 hours to sell them, even when I had four of them.

1) Sabertooth Tiger Mane - Drops from Sabertooth Tigers in LOIO and possibly OT. This is the only droppable item of the four. I usually buy one off a vendor in PoK before I start. If you can't find one in PoK, try the vendor at the windmill in LOIO. You can also usually find them on a vendor in FV. Needless to say, you can even kill a Sabertooth Tiger (lvl 18-21) and get one. They're plentiful in the area East of the windmill.

2) Ton Warrior Totem - This is the tough one. It drops from Froglok Ton Warriors (lvl 22-25) and Froglok Krup Guards (lvl 25-26). As noted elsewhere, it's an orange totem, not the grey totem pieces. If you're a class without Track, it could take a while, since neither MOB is a common spawn. The key to doing the quest quickly is getting one of these totems quickly. I usually zone into SoNH from Field of Bone and immediately hit Track to see if any Ton Warriors are already up. If not, start clearing the Iksar camp at 2400,0 and all the MOBs in the vicinity. Check Track often. If you don't have Track, keep conning Frogloks in the area. They seem to either spawn East of the camp and then head West, or West of the camp near the ruins and then head East. I have also sometimes found them in the Southwest section of the zone as well as in the Froglok city. Froglok Krup Guards I have only found in the city.

A Froglok Ton Warrior also spawns in FV, and if he isn't killed, eventually enters the tunnels leading to the Dreadlands. I've encountered them there four times, so I have to believe it's part of their route. I've also encountered Froglok Nok Shamans in the tunnel. If you don't have Track, you could just wait in the tunnel and eventually a Ton Warrior will show up.

Another possibility for those without Track is to go into SoNH right after a Patch, when the zone is 'fresh'. I've done this and found three Ton Warriors just standing around the Iksar camp.

In my experience, the totem drops from about 50% of the kills.

3) Heart of Ice - This is easy. Icebone Skeletons (lvl 22-24) always drop them. If you're clearing the Iksar camp, watch for Icebones that wander through. If you don't get one this way, there are two places not too far out of your way that you can always find them. One spot is the haunted ruins in SoNH at approx. n2500, 800. The other is the haunted ruins just West of the windmill in LOIO at approx. n3000, n1700.

4) Shaman Powder - Froglok Nok Shamans (lvl 25-28) spawn all across the Northern portion of FV. The best place to hunt them is in the Northeast corner of the zone, by the valley leading to SoNH. This area is often called 'The Dog Run' due to the heavy concentration of Drolvargs. None of the MOBs stray into the valley, and you can see where it starts because the grass changes color there. You shouldn't have to wait long before a Nok Shaman hops by. Pull it into the valley, where you won't get adds and finish it off. Warning: If you accidentally pull two Shamans and you're less than level 40, head for the zone. Otherwise, just as you are about to kill one, the other will heal it up, and in the meantime they're both doing 'root and rot' on you. One on one, the Shamans aren't bad, because you can disrupt them.

The Shaman Powder is a black pile of dust. If you have white Shaman Powder, you probably killed a Tsu Shaman. I would say that the Nok Shamans drop the powder 4 out of 5 times.

Strategy: I buy a Sabertooth Tiger Mane whenever I see one on a vendor, so I usually start out with one in inventory. In this case, I take the Cabilis stone to Field of Bone and zone into SoNH from the top. I then hunt the Ton Warriors and also bag an Icebone if one wanders by. If I'm not having luck at the Iksar camp, I'll move far enough South that I can pick up the Southern part of the zone on Track, to see if there's a Ton Warrior or Krup Guard up, down in the city. Once I have the totem, I move South to the ruins and bag an Icebone, then Southeast to the exit to FV. I bag a Nok Shaman and then head South into the FV outpost for the turn-in.

If I start without a Mane, I'll take the FV stone, then duck into LOIO. I head for the windmill, buy a Mane, then jog over to the ruins and get an Icebone. I then head back into FV and head for the exit to SoNH in the Northwest corner. Keep an eye out for Ton Warriors and Nok Shamans while you're passing through. Zone into SoNH, get a totem, then zone back into FV, get the Shaman Powder and head for town.

You don't have to go through all the responses each time. After the first time just give her the items. After I do the turn-in I usually check the FV vendors and pick up a Mane for the next run.

Good luck in your quest!
Ton Totem
# May 30 2003 at 1:14 AM Rating: Decent
Just to clear up all the confusion about the ton warrior totem..

I completed this quest tonight. The other 3 pieces are very much as described. However I, too, wasted many hours in the swamp when I didn't need to.

The totem definitely drops off Krup Guards. Go into the Frog city. From the ramp (entrance), go into the 2nd building on the right, where 4 frogs (typically) spawn. Keep clearing the room. After 3-4 spawn cycles I had a Krup pop, and he had the totem and the shield. I did this with a druid, and had been checking track for Ton's and Krups almost constantly without luck in the outcast camp and all the other places noted.

Good luck!

My Mom and I have done this quest several times. I got her into EQ a few months after I signed up.

We find the warrior totem in the waterfall cave where the TT zone is. There is a small passage to the froglok you do the Howling Stones Key quest for.

Then its just a short trip to FV zone from Swamp to get the shaman powder.

As did I. Froglok Ton Warrior in FV near the FV gate. I should also note that I got two different "Shaman Powder's", one was black and the other was white, both in FV. Not sure what the white one is for.

I'd like to add this chunk of info: The sabertooth tigers in The Overthere do NOT drop the mane, at least not commonly. I went to Ill Omen first w/o reading the fine print, killed the Grimalkins for a bit (they didn't drop any manes), then figured I'd give OT a try. The tigers didn't drop any of the manes either, and I was there for an hour. Re-read the quest above and found out there was actually an "a sabertooth tiger" mob in LOIO. First one I killed dropped the mane. Hope this spares some confusion for others.

# Jan 14 2003 at 4:38 AM Rating: Decent
I just finished this quest (14/01/03), so I thought I would share my experience.

I used my druid (54) to get the parts. The Powder of Nok (Shaman powder)[FV], heart of ice[LOIO] and sabertooth mane[LOIO] were no problem. All dropped off the first or second kill. The Ton Warrior totem was a little harder. I started by running all over the swamp of no hope tracking for ton warriors, but none were up. I then decided to use my 55 Necro to trash the town. This was ok for the first 30 or so kills, until after one kill when my pet seemed to take a while to return, then no pet, then I'm getting hit in the hundreds. The druid epic guy seemed to object to my presence [btw, he conned white at 55]. It was getting late so I just bailed out and thought I would try again the next day. I did a little more research before I went back, discovering that the totem also dropped off the krup guards, so back to the druid tracking again. No ton warriors on track, but there was one krup guard a little way in from the ramp, on the right hand side. Killed him and got the totem. Turned in the 4 pieces in FV, and now I'm one happy lil level 20 Iksar Enchanter.

no reason why not.

In general, if you just have to give a bunch of items to mob then it can be MQ'd. If you need to combine items in a container first, then it can't.

# Sep 24 2002 at 10:21 PM Rating: Decent
I finished this quest yesterday and the information above is pretty accurate. Got the Heart of Ice and the Sabertooth Mane while leveling in LOIO, so no difficulties there. However, the other two items are more difficult.

First, the shaman powder is hard to get since the north part of FV is swarming with drachnids, some of which see through invis. I had my friend, a 59SK, help me with the quest and by the time we got the powder he was at half life after all the aggros.

Also, the Ton Warrior Totem does indeed drop off Ton Warriors. Just go to the camp listed above and kill everthing you see. Eventually a few frogloks will bound by, a fisher and something else, I think. Make sure to kill any frogloks you see. Killed two Ton Warriors before the totem dropped.

And the turn in is a piece of cake for an enchanter. Illusion:High Elf and Benevolence will get you amiable with Luminare Pasinia and you can turn the items in with no fear, even though my char is a Dark Elf.

Luminare is a bit hard to find since the entrance to the building is facing the back wall of the warriors training building.

All in all, it took me about half an hour to get everything. With a full group of lvl30 - lvl35+ you should be able to collect the items in about 2 hours.

I'd have to agree with sylense. I started clearing all the "yard trash" around the Iksar Bandit camp near the Field of Bone zone; I stayed away from the Froglok city, both because I had heard that the bandit camp area worked at least as well and due to fear of the Druid epic mob, who is nasty to tangle with.

In a half-hour a Ton Warrior popped, and he had the totem. The Shaman powder was on the second Nok Shaman I killed in FV - they were very easy to find and quite plentiful. Of course, the Heart of Ice and Sabertooth Mane took about six minutes in LOIO.

I am Indifferent to FV faction in my natural (High Elf) form and Luminaire gave me the spell with no problem.

Unfortunately, the Iksar Shamans and SKs still want to kill me, even in Iksar form and using my best faction-adjustment spell. But a metric ton of bonechips to Trooper Moozo (who is Warmly to me in Iksar form) should fix that.

The ton totem also drops off of froglok krup guards in Krup. Not only are the krup guards more common than ton warriors, they drop the totem far more often. However, it's a bit trickier to break up Krup below, say level 40, though at 30 you can do it with a skillful full group. They're usually in a building not far from the ramp. I've gone there for exploration purposes and killed a few of these guys, and they drop the totem about half the time.

Did this today with my 42 druid. The heart of ice and sabertooth mane are the easiest ones, drop like candy on Lake of Ill Omen, though I got my heart of ice off Swamp of No Hope, when a silly green skeleton aggroed on me. Ton warrior totem took several froglok ton warriors to kill. They were all wandering around the swamp, alone so after I got them on track it was easy. The black dust that the froglok nok shaman in FV drops does indeed just read 'Shaman Powder', but if you cast Identify spell on it (my bard friend did that for me) it identifies as 'Powder of Nok'. Luminare was amiable to me and I got the spell easily. My lil chanter will be happy.

When you enter the city just to your right there is a building with 4 frogs in it. When I first went here a ton warrior was up in this room. I killed him and all the others and all the Ton had was the fragments. When the room respawned there was a froglok krup guard in the room and he had the totem. Checked tracking and there was another up farther in the city and I went and killed him to see and sure enough there was the totem so looks like he drops it fairly often. Killed about 9 ton warriors and all had the fragments.

Some say it's a useless spell... Well, I just bound my enchanter at the touchpots in Timorous Deep. This is an awesome bindpoint if you fight with a cleric or chose your hunting zones carefully. The only place in Kunark you can go to from the touchpots is Cabilis. I'm looking forward to getting this spell so that I can travel much more easily through Kunark!

As a binding class, you can bind in the Firepot room. My Enchanter is bound there now. As for dropping illusion when zoning...that is why you go invis before you zone and recast illusion in a safe location once you have zoned. Any real Enchanter would know this.

Hi all

I did this quest with my lvl 47 Warrior (needed to see someother things then just the ruins in Dreadlands).
All the items are fairly easy to get, got them in 1 or 2 kills, and yes I got my Totem at the bandit camp.

I think it is posible to do this quest with a full grp. around 20. You just need a good organised group (MP, MT, ML, Defined pull spot, etc. etc.).

I finished the quest last night. Got it finished in about 3 hours. 3 lvl 50+ guild mates helped me though (they were bored and wanted to do something), but we were still lucky. The totem dropped first Tom Warrior we found, and I found the Heart of Ice on a corpse just laying there at bandit camp waiting to decay. The 3rd guild mate that joined us got a mane on his way to meet us.

I'm still trying to figure out why they put the (no drop) items on mobs that con red (or close to it) to a lvl 20.
