This group mission is the fourth in a series of five. It begins with Mer (click for map image) in the Barren Coast at approximate /location -190, -45.

    Pre-requisites for Requesting:
    - Completion of "Mer's Lost Love"
    - Completion of "Piecing Things Together"
    - Completion of "The Grim News"

At the end of the previous task, you saw:

Mer says 'Shipping line information? That's all they're after? I really don't see the cause to go slaughtering the very people that are holding my love hostage! What if they decide to kill him now? If they do I swear I will slay Jor myself! You must go back at once and attempt to [reason] with them.'

    You say, 'Reason with them?'

Mer says 'Yes. It seems they want something tangible, doesn't it? We might not have the information they're looking for, but perhaps we can give them something else, something that they could use as a bargaining chip to get that information themselves. It's obvious Renne doesn't have it! Please don't anger them any more by killing their sisters. Just try to negotiate.'

You have been assigned the task 'If You Can't Beat 'Em, Bribe 'Em'.

Mer wants to try the diplomatic approach with the sirens and has given you a diamond mirror to bribe them with. Find a siren that will speak with you and barter for Fenne's life.

If you hail her again to request, you see:

Mer says 'If the legends are true then sirens are incredibly vain creatures. Maybe you can entice one of them with this mirror. Hopefully you can find one to [reason] with.'

Whoever requests the task receives a "Diamond Adorned Mirror".

Purchase a ticket to Maiden's Grave 0/1 Barren Coast

Dockmaster Weatherby says 'You look like you've been at sea on a dangerous mission for a while? Perhaps you plan to head back out, in which case you're going to need to purchase another ticket before boarding the Isabeau.'

Buy a "Seafarer's Ticket: Maiden's Grave" from any of the Dockmasters along the coastline and keep it in your inventory. When the ship docks, step onto it and wait for it to sail out to the Buried Sea. Upon zoning, you'll find yourself in an instanced version of the island. (Next to you is a rowboat that serves as your zone-out.)

Find a siren that will speak with you 0/1 (Maiden's Grave)

The siren in question is named "Aymee Coldpsalm". She's located close to the zone-in, just inland (you should be able to see her from the zone-in point). It isn't necessary to clear any regular sirens to get to her or speak with her, but there are two KOS mobs very close to her.

    You say, 'Hail, Aymee Coldpsalm'

Aymee Coldpsalm says 'So you're the ones that have been killing my sisters. Come to do me in as well? Do your worst, it won't bring back whichever loved one you lost to the ocean's fate!'

Bribe Aymee Coldpsalm with the mirror 0/1 (Maiden's Grave)

Give her the Diamond Adorned Mirror.

Aymee Coldpsalm eye's the mirror greedily but lingers a safe distance from you in trepidation . You extend the mirror towards her. Her desire finally gets the better of her and she snatches the mirror from your hands. "A fine trinket you have brought me, but what do you want in return? Renne? As if I mark the names in the endless current of shipwrecked sailors that Prexus' tide brings us. Have you tried asking the mindless zombies that wander our shores? Perhaps one of them is your Renne. Be wary though, I'll not tolerate the further slaughter of my sisters mammal. Continue to kill them and our parlay is at an end!"

Kill shipwrecked undead 0/20 (Maiden's Grave)

(Optional) Do not kill any sirens 0/5 (Maiden's Grave)

The step "(Opt) Don't kill sirens (0/5)" increments when you kill a siren. If you kill five, the mission ends immediately with the mid-screen message "You have killed too many sirens. Your quest has failed." So it is mandatory that you don't complete that step.

The undead sailors can mostly be pulled single from the coastline of the island. Cursed pirates and tortured sailors count for this step, and the sirens don't assist them.

Tell Aymee Coldpsalm of your success 0/1 (Maiden's Grave)

    You say, 'Hail, Aymee Coldpsalm'

Aymee Coldpsalm says 'So Renne is not among the dead? Then perhaps he sits with the queen as her guest." A quiet sneer slides to the side of Aymee's face. "Perhaps you can entice the Queen to part with him for the right price. Bring something of value to trade for his freedom and perhaps you'll find her in a giving mood.'

You've gained a contact in the siren society. Return to Mer and tell her of the news.

    This completes the task.

Aymee is on the path ahead, just to right as you zone in... 1st Siren you run into.

The "Do not kill Sirens" step I could not get to work. I killed about 10 more undead (Cursed Pirates and Totured Sailors included).... and no updates.

I wonder if that is a step to kill the turtles?

Task ends immediately upon hailing Aymee the 2nd time.
