For the location updates, I was able to get them by:
Clear the room of all mobs in each of the pyramids that has the teleporter in it.
Once cleared, stood immediately to the left of the teleporter, without lev or shrink.
Took about three seconds for the update message to appear.

Rizlona server, December 2023--was able to proceed by clearing the room, standing to the left of the teleporter like Brewall said, I had perma-lev on but I tabbed down to make my feet hit the floor in each pyramid and quest updated instantly.

These updates are locations updates.
There is a stargate-like portal under the pyramid not too far from the zone in. Step in and it will take you up.
Go around and straight in and you will see another stargate-like portal to the 2nd Pyramid.
Update #1 is right there at that portal (but not in it) (careful not to step and and port away until you have the update, or back to square one) (you can't port back).
However, you cannot get the update until you clear the portal room.
The 2nd and 3rd portals are located in the same area of the 2nd and 3rd pyramids, and you have to clear those rooms as well, before you can get the update.
The portal in the 3rd pyramid takes you back to ground level, below.

I was able to get an update with another PC in the room. You can get the explore updates instantly, if the rooms are cleared of all NPC's, especially pets and also possibly familiars. The same must be true for Zio #2: Death Sentence for the NPC to accept the item.
When I did this, took a bit to figure out, you need to "Examine" the teleporters which means you need to stand near them for a period of time without moving at all ... about 1-2 min.
Just an added note, when I did this it seemed that you had to "examine" each portal longer. 1st portal 2 min, 2d 3 min, the 3rd seemed to take forever I didn't time it.

The correct task name is The Eye in the Sky according to my task list. The objectives are:
Explore the first pyramid Silyssar,New Chelsith
Explore the second pyramid Silyssar, New Chelsith
Explore the third pyramid Silyssar, New Chelsith

Be aware that you cannot even enter this zone until you have completed progression mission 5. In order to use the teleporter to go up to the pyramids you must have also completed progression mission 6. Pottery rewards offered to me on the preview are smudged pottery chip, splinter and fragment. I have the splinter and fragment so chip is the one available to me after completion.
He also won't give this task and others to some group members so I'm assuming you have to do the line in some order to progress thru his tasks.
So far we have done them in this order as best as I can remember:
Snakes on the plane (done)
Adapting to the environment (done)
Remnants of a lost civilization (done)
Remnants of a lost vivilzation II (done)
