This group mission is the second in a series of five. It begins with Mer (click for map image) in the Barren Coast at approximate /location -190, -45.

    Pre-requisites for Requesting:
    - Completion of "Mer's Lost Love"

At the end of the previous task, you saw:

Mer says, 'That's from his ship, I have no doubt. However, its just wreckage. There is no concrete evidence here of anything but a shipwreck. Those are common enough out there, and they dont always mean death. Many a ship has run aground and left the crew behind to speak of it. I am afraid I am unfamiliar with this [isle] you speak of.'

You say, 'It's an isle of sirens...'

Mer says 'Sirens? I always believed them to be a myth. It doesn't surprise me, that sea is cursed. You must go [back]!'

    You say, 'Back there?'

Mer says 'Yes! You must, please I will do anything. I just can't accept this wreckage as evidence of Renne's death. It isn't enough. You must [return] to this island and find out more. Anything. What happened to his crew? Are there any hiding places on the island? Who are these sirens? What do they want? Please!'

    You say, 'We will return...'

Mer says 'Thank you, thank you. Go at once and I will do all I can to help.'

You have been assigned the task 'Piecing Things Together'.

Mer is taken aback by the wreckage you have returned to her, but the lack of personal effects from Renne leaves her with hope. She is determined to uncover the story of what happened to her lover. She pleads with you to return to the island and look for more clues.

If you hail her again to request, you see:

Mer says 'If the sirens have him you must hurry! I always believed them to be a myth. It doesn't surprise me, that sea is cursed. You must go [back]!'

Purchase tickets to Maiden's Grave and catch the boat (Barren Coast)

Dockmaster Weatherby says 'You look like you've been at sea on a dangerous mission for a while? Perhaps you plan to head back out, in which case you're going to need to purchase another ticket before boarding the Isabeau.'

Buy a "Seafarer's Ticket: Maiden's Grave" from any of the Dockmasters along the coastline and keep it in your inventory. When the ship docks, step onto it and wait for it to sail out to the Buried Sea. Upon zoning, you'll find yourself in an instanced version of the island. (Next to you is a rowboat that serves as your zone-out.)

Search for evidence of Renne's fate 0/3 (Maiden's Grave)

General notes for mobs in the zone:

    - Sirens are social only with other sirens; flee at low health or attempt to gate; can cast spell reflection buffs; and sometimes summon.
    - Undead mobs are social only with other undead.
    - Turtles are not KOS or social; flee at low health.

Here, you'll need to locate 3x "a fallen pirate" on the island. Someone must hail them to update the task. Be ready for ambush mobs upon the third hail.

Their locations / spawn points are random. You can use the 'Find' feature to note their locations (CTRL+F).

a fallen pirate says, 'The sirens! You must leave before they come back! They set upon us as soon as we stepped on the island. . . Only one of the crew survived unharmed. . . They. . . ' His voice trails off in a gasp as the life leaves his body.

a fallen pirate says, 'They're everywhere. . . We tried to run. . . Renne my friend why did they take you? Please. . .find Renne. . . he. . . ' He falls silent as his body shudders and breathes it's last breath.

a fallen pirate says, 'They took him to the queen. . . please you must leave. They. . . are using me as bait for you. . . the ambush. . .' A light flares in his eyes for a moment as a hidden enchantment takes his life.

Defeat the ambush and ecsape 0/1 (Maiden's Grave)

Once the third fallen pirate is hailed, the next step opens up, and you'll have to kill an ambush. There are three waves of sirens: First wave is four mobs, second wave is two mobs, and third wave is five mobs.

Note: You may want to station your group towards the middle area of the island in case one gates, as you don't want the whole the island trained on you. They appear to spawn around this area, and auto-aggro everyone in the zone, most likely chasing down the player closest to them.

Ambush mobs are pacifiable, snareable, and summon (but usually only during the third wave).

Return to Mer with the news of Renne 0/1 (Barren Coast)

Near the zone-in area is a rowboat that you can click to port you back to the Buried Sea:

You get into the longboat and row out. You are quickly picked up by one of the many merchant ships sailing the waters of the Buried Sea and delivered safely to the dock on Jardel's Hook...

Head back to Mer in Barren Coast, and hail her:

Mer says 'This is wonderful news! If the sirens took Renne captive, then he must have or know something that they want. We must [find out] what that is!'

Learning that Renne may still be alive has only strengthened Mer's resolve.

These ambushing sirens are extremely highly resistant to stun, root, mez, charm and some of them summon. Oh yea, and they gate. And they agro other mobs. Did they mention that 5 will ambush you while your still recovering from the prior set? That just sucks. Especially when they cons yellow to you. As an enchanter I cast Winds of Tashan on one, then 4 slows which were all resisted before I was dead

Turns out if you are somewhat near the "a fallen pirate" Find works. Makers this much easier knowing this.

I got a whopping 118 Doubloons for this one, but only 20 on the repeat.

Easy with a tracker to find the fallen pirates. It is best to clear area around last pirate as I got alot of adds it seems.

If you die or gate, just buy another ticket and the mobs will be waiting for you when you get back.

    pretty eaasy mission

The Fallen Pirates are random spawns. They spawn anywhere on the island, never the same place twice.

The first wave of sirens is 3, second wave was 3, third wave was 4. The waves attack the hailer of the third pirate and will spawn where ever that hailer goes. We cleared center portion of island and hailer ran back to group. No problems from there.
