This group mission is the second in a series of five. It begins with Daemon Darkdawn (click for map image) on the Barren Coast, located at approximately 745, -625, on top of a large hill.

    Pre-requisites for Requesting:
    - Completion of "Sunstone Savages"

At the end of the previous task, you saw:

Daemon Darkdawn says, "Arrr, you've brought a tear to this old salty dog's eye! Those goblins didn't know who they were messin' with! But we're not done with those bilge rats just yet! Not by a long shot! What's this that you brought me? The king held it ye say? Hmm, well lets have a look at this here [charm] shall we?"

You say, 'What about this charm?'

Daemon Darkdawn says 'Aye. I been talking to Brynden and he agrees. There's something rotten on that rock and I don't think I be done getting' the vengeance me and me crew need. Go back thar and find out what that symbol does and smash up them red goblins. Go talk to Brynden and see what he can tell you about them fire goblins and that volcano.'

You have been assigned the task 'Altar Call'.

Daemon Darkdawn wants you to go explore the Cave of Inferno and search for booty. Break anything that looks important to the goblins. Oh, and kill a few while you're there. Find passage on one of the Freetide Merchant ships and head to Suncrest Island to prove yer mettle! Use the rowboat that you left on the shore to row back out to the boat when you're done.

If you hail Brynden Snow at the Blacksail Smugglers camp, you get a little bit of background information about Suncrest Isle:

Brynden Snow says 'Ah, I see you've met Daemon. I wouldn't trust everything he says. But if he's mentioned me, then I'm sure he wants to know about the goblins on Suncrest. You look like a more reasonable person than that revenge-sodden fool Daemon, so I'll tell you what I know about the Suncrest goblin clan. I know that they worship Solusek Ro. I'm pretty sure that both clans on the island, the Tidewater and Suncrest clans, were once the same clan. They split over religious beliefs, one group desired to follow Solusek Ro and the other wanted to follow Prexus. In both cases they appear to have been accepted and blessed by their respective gods. The Suncrest goblins stay near the volcano and hold rights to Solusek Ro either at the base of the cone or perhaps inside the caves.'

Purchase tickets to Suncrest Isle and catch the boat 0/1 (Barren Coast)

Dockmaster Weatherby says 'You look like you've been at sea on a dangerous mission for a while? Perhaps you plan to head back out, in which case you're going to need to purchase another ticket before boarding the Isabeau.'

Buy a "Seafarer's Ticket: Suncrest Isle" from any of the Dockmasters along the coastline and keep it in your inventory. When the ship docks, step onto it and wait for it to sail out to the Buried Sea. Upon zoning, you'll find yourself in an instanced version of the island.

Slay 25 Sunstone Goblins 0/25 (Suncrest Isle)

Kill 25 goblins along the north half of the island. Also, it is advised that you clear the goblins in the northeastern cave (towards the big crystal), otherwise you'll have extra clearing to do.

Destroy the Altar of Solusek Ro 0/1 (Suncrest Isle)

You need to kill 4x "a burning crystal" (lots of hitpoints) that surround the altar. The crystals don't attack back; however, as soon as one is attacked, 4x "a burning elemental" spawn around the altar.

These elementals each hit for a max ~1,500 and proc a nuke for 500 dmg. The elementals are mezzable and stunnable, and respawn almost instantly when killed. If you can range DPS, you can avoid their aggro by standing back in the tunnel and DPS'ing the crystals from a distance (pets work well for this). If not, you'll have to contend with the four elementals while you destroy the crystals.

Once a crystal is destroyed, you can kill the spawned elementals. They won't respawn until you attack one of the other crystals. (Note also that you'll only get as many elemental spawns as there are crystals, so you'll deal with less of them as you progress.)

This step updates when the last of the burning crystals is destroyed.

Note: The flaming skull object in this area is related to the task "No Small Thing". It does not relate to this task.

Near the zone-in area is a rowboat that you can click to port you back to the Buried Sea:

You get into the longboat and row out. You are quickly picked up by one of the many merchant ships sailing the waters of the Buried Sea and delivered safely to the dock on Jardel's Hook...

Speak with Daemon Darkdawn 0/1 (Barren Coast)

    You say, 'Hail, Daemon Darkdawn'

Daemon Darkdawn says, "Well did you find any booty? Or anything worth smashing to bits? I'm certain you killed a few more of those goblins as well didn't you? Some kind of Altar you say? Well this is interesting, I'm sure Brynden will want to hear about this."

(Brynden doesn't have anything new to say.)

    - Doubloons (number varies)
    - Faction with Blacksail Smugglers (+25)

This mission also relates to the task "No Small Thing" (one of the items is acquired in this zone).

This task was pretty stright forward.

Buy a ticket to Suncrest and hop on the boat to zone in.

Once there, kill any 25 "sunstone" goblins to open the 2nd step.

The 2nd step is to destroy the altar of Solusek Ro.

There is a cave (big door) on the north and east side of the island (Suncrest). In there is a giant gem looking object on an altar-like stairway inside.

On/at the stairway, you then need to kill four (4) A Burning Crystal (grey on at 85, they dont attack back as they are objects) (they appear around it in sets of two). As you do this, A Burning Elemental (you will get 6 to 8 total... light blue at 85, lotsa HP) that also spawn and attack you.

Killing the four Crystals is all you need for the task step (not the Elementals).

CLick the canoe (where you zoned in) to zone out and go back to hail Daemon to finish.

The truth is out there! The truth hurts! But the truth can set you free! So says Mithaniel Marr the Truthbringer! All hail the Freeport Knights of Truth!

I only killed one of the elementals, but the instant it died another one popped in its place. I went ahead and just nuked the crystals from far away and that was that. Dunno if you can actually clear the elementals or not.

I boxed this mission twice a couple days ago.

First try, I got no 'Task update' after destroying the 4 'burning crystals'.

Second try was the good one!

First time I sent the pets to destroy the crystals. Pet push was moving the crystals all around the place.

Second time, I killed exactly the same mobs but I didn't sent pets to destroy the crystals, I only used dots and nukes. The crystals exploded at their spawn point.

The task is to destroy the altar, not just the crystals, maybe those crystals are just some kind of nades that must explode close to the altar ...

On the 3rd attempt, we completed this quest.

1st - Sent pets in and cast spells to destroy crystals.

2nd - Sent pets in and cast spells to destroy crystals and killed the elementals.

3rd - Did not send the pets in but cast spells on the crystals to destroy them. This one was successful. So, I believe the part about not sending the pets in but destroying them yourselves is the key to this. (It's possible it may work if you send in the pets but you out damage them or get the last hit it would work, but we didn't try that way)

The elementals spawn for each crystal. If you destroy the crystal and the elemental that's guarding it then it won't respawn.

Done this twice now....killed 25 gobs and destroyed the 4 crystals, but not getting an update.
Have petitioned, but GM says mission is not bugged, so i'm wondering what we are doing wrong?
Also killed all the gobs in NE fact we killed all gobs.

1st time we let pets kill the crystals and did'nt aggro the elementals, 2nd time we killed all.

Any ideas would be appreciated :)

    3rd time lucky.
Not sure what we did, but think it might have something to do with the gobs in cave nearest the crystal room, there's one or 2 in a little cave on the side, u have to kill all these as part of your 25.
last time we did it we killed all the gobs in the big cave but not the one in small one.
This is easy soloable with my nec,as is the 1st part of mission.....just need 3 in grp to get mission.
