This group mission is the second in a series of five. It begins with Gus Longear (click for map image), who is located at about 390, 3240 on the northeastern coast of Jardel's Hook in the Buried Sea.

    Pre-requisites for requesting:
    - Completion of "Shipping Lanes"

Opening dialogues are the same; keyword "report".

You say, 'I'll report back to you'

Gus Longear says 'If you be up for the job, get to it!'

You have been assigned the task 'Pirate Stew'.

Gus Longear suspects that the cannibals of Deadbone Reef, the galigaba, may be responsible for the number of pirate ships that have turned up missing from Jardel's Hook recently. Travel to Deadbone Reef and slay the galibaga and see what you can find. When you are ready to leave Deadbone Reef, find the rowboat to get back out to sea.'

Purchase tickets to Deadbone Reef and catch the boat 0/1 (The Buried Sea)

Buy a "Seafarer's Ticket: Deadbone Reef" from Dockmaster Angus at the dock (nearby) and keep it in your inventory. When the ship docks, step onto it and wait for it to sail out to the Buried Sea. Upon zoning, you'll find yourself in an instanced version of the island. (Next to you is a rowboat that serves as your zone-out.)

Dockmaster Angus says 'You look like you've been at sea on a dangerous mission for a while? Perhaps you plan to head back out, in which case you're going to need to purchase another ticket before boarding the Isabeau.'

Investigate the cannibal camp 0/1 (Deadbone Reef)

Slay 30 galigaba cannibals 0/30 (Deadbone Reef)

The location update is on the south side of the ridge in the galigaba camp with tents and a campfire. As you approach, you see:

Burrul Baayina howls at the sky as intruders happen upon his camp.

Slay the cannibal leader Burrul Baayina 0/1 (Deadbone Reef)

Kill any 30 "galigaba" mobs, and kill Burrul Baayina, who's found in the camp itself. Burrul Baayina hits for a max ~1,900, is a Shaman (will be buffed with Shaman buffs, including haste, as well as all mobs around him), has ~75,000 hitpoints, is stunnable and mezzable, and casts "Gut Ripper":

    Gut Ripper: Single Target (Unresistable)
1: Decrease HP when cast by 1500
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 350 per tick (5 ticks)

Burrul Baayina says 'Galigabi thiyama-ya gawugaa!'

Burrul Baayina has been slain by _____!
Burrul Baayina's corpse twitches as it falls to the ground.
Your faction standing with Galigaba has been adjusted by -100.

Speak with Gus Longear 0/1 (The Buried Sea)

You can click on the longboat next to the zone-in point to zone out.

    You say, 'Hail, Gus Longear'

It seems that the galigaba are not behind the missing ships and are just up to their normal cannibalistic trickery. Perhaps there is some [other force] on the island behind the disappearances.

    Warping MOBS

It is indeed pretty simple mission but beware that it is buggy as hell. I had MOBS warping and disappearing all over the place.

    Pretty straight forward.

Buy a ticket to Deadbone and hop on the boat to zone in.

After you get a location update at the "cannibal camp" (south east island, on top of the mountain), simply kill 30 trash "galigaba" and their leader, Buruul Baayina (in the camp).

Click the canoe (where you zoned in) to zone out and go back ro gus to finish.

Back 1,5 years ago was 50, now it is down to 44, guess it had risen like the other missions meanwhile after sony put out SoF and now it is down again because of botting for plat or something.

I know I'm repleying to an old post, but it's worth mentioning nonetheless -- The rewards on TBS missions vary by who's been doing what when. -- if a lot of people have done a particular mission lately, it's reward will fall, and the reward for other missions in the zone will increase.

The reward only "dropped" to 44 because a few other people had done the same mission in the few days before you did it.

    Burrul Baayina spawns.. when?

    ----
He is up the whole time, from when you zone into the instance.

    (closing dialogues needed)

    ----
It seems that the galigaba are not behind the missing ships and are just up to their normal cannibalistic tricky. Perhaps there is some [other force] on the island behind the disappearance.

as far as dialogue is concerned - it's the same as for the first mission - a window pops up where you can select mission one or two :) (after you have done mission 1 and do dialogue again :P)

The reward for this task is currently 50 Doubloons on Bertox (and I have yet to see it change since the expansion came out)
