This solo task begins with Archarcanist Pintanus at location -100, +80, +8 in Katta Castrum (the port-in level).
You say, 'Hail, Archarcanist Pintanus' Archarcanist Pintanus is looking at some small pieces of broken pottery through a magnifying glass as you approach. He turns towards you, still looking through the magnifying glass and jumps back, startled. 'Ahh! Oh sorry, _____. I didn't see you there. I was just examining these [artifacts]. Are you perhaps looking for [work]?' You say, 'What artifacts?' Archarcanist Pintanus says 'I'm sorry, what did you say? If you can't speak clearly please do not expect me to pay attention to what you have to say! Now let me get back to Tactician Sodut's report. The Shissar have been far too active of late for me to be bothered about anything else.' You say, 'I'm looking for WORK' Archarcanist Pintanus says 'I've been tasked by the Combine empire to study the inhabitants of the various habitats throughout the city. One such habitat in Zhisza that I've been studying for a long time appears to have two species of animals that are evolving to overcome their inhabitants. I would like to find adventurers who would be [interested] in observing these animals and bringing back specimens for me to study. I also have another [task] that I've been assigned to complete within the next few days if you are interested.' You say, 'What task?' You have been assigned the task 'Snakes on the Plain'. Archarcanist Pintanus says 'Various Combine citizens and merchants have been recently bitten by very poisonous snakes. We fear that the Shissar have chosen to place these poisonous snakes in highly populated areas to disrupt commerce and trade. This is a cowardly tactic, yet something only a Shissar would employ. I have been charged with studying the venom of these poisonous snakes and to create an anti-venom. Hopefully this salve will cure many of the citizens of their deathly sickness caused by these snakes. Go to Zhisza and find these snakes. Make haste and collect their venom so that I can immediately begin processing it for a cure.' Archarcanist Pintanus has asked you to collect three powerful venom sacs to make a potent anti-venom. Collect 1 Pit Viper Venom (Zhisza, the Shissar Sanctuary) Collect 1 Cobra Venom (Zhisza, the Shissar Sanctuary) Collect 1 Copperhead Venom (Zhisza, the Shissar Sanctuary) ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Copperfang (located next to the lake on the east side of Zhisza) drops Copperhead Venom. King Brownscale (located on the east side on the outside of the Shissar temple) drops Cobra Venom. Coralitus (located ? somewhere along the western path) drops Pit Viper Venom.
