This group mission begins with Tuzart Relenfold (click for map image) in the port-in area of Katta Castrum.

    Pre-requisites for Requesting:
    - None

    You say, 'Hail, Tuzart Relenfold'

Tuzart Relenfold says 'You are just in time, _____. If you are here to aid us you must act quickly.'

You have been assigned the task 'Fate of the Combine'.

If Prexus is not behind the weakening power source, then we must find out which god has decided to curse us and appease him. Speak to Akarahotuten within the Jewel of Atiiki, for though the answer may come in riddle perhaps it will shed some light on the situation.

    P -820.4341, 600.4742, -501.9090, 240, 0, 0, 3, E_#1

Enter the Great Pyramid in Jewel of Atiiki 0/1 (Katta Castrum)

The Jewel of Atiiki zone-in is at about -4220, 2550 in Katta Castrum (in the southwestern quadrant of the zone, it is the southeastern-most portal). Once in the Jewel of Atiiki, head to the southwestern pyramid and use the portal at the top to zone into the instance (/loc approximately -700, 750, 210).

Speak with Akarahotuten 0/1 (Jewel of Atiiki)

Akarahotuten is behind you when you zone in. Hail it, and it will vanish, saying,

    You say, 'Hail, Akarahotuten'

Akarahotuten says, 'The question you have asked involves Solteris, and the power that lies within. However the question you have not asked may prove even more useful. Delve further into the temple and confront all who oppose you to solve the mystery.'

Slaughter your way through the temple and confront the true source of strife 0/1 (Jewel of Atiiki)

Kill your way down to the basement, and find Emperor Zhizuzun in the basement's northwestern room (a minimum number of kills is required before he'll spawn: around 15 kills).

No mobs in this mission summon (even the named), and everything is rootable (unconfirmed if the named is rootable).

The Emperor hits for a max ~2,100; has ~600,000 hitpoints; and is stunnable and mezzable. When he reaches 80% health, he despawns and reappears in a different location (northeastern corner of the basement). This happens again at 60% (southeastern area) and 40% health (southwestern area). At 20%, he morphs into Akarahotuten and the task ends.

Akarahotuten says 'Now you see! You have become better at understanding the path that we follow.'

The enigmatic sphinx have answered the question they were asked, and the question they were not asked... Unfortunately knowledge alone is not enough to fix the failing power source.

I just finished this task boxing my 71 mage and necro with healer and tank mercs on Drinal. The reward at the end was 50 Orum, not the 25-29 mentioned above.

Emperor spawns on the bottom floor. He did not seem to spawn until I had killed a good number of MOB's or 30-ish minutes had passed.

Luckily -- he does not regen when he teleporrts away to another room.

Here are map (cut & paste) locations for the spawns:

    P -795.2665, 870.2733, -501.6427, 240, 0, 0, 3, E_#4
    P -598.8840, 835.7391, -501.9262, 240, 0, 0, 3, E_#3
    P -501.3410, 545.4743, -499.1252, 240, 0, 0, 3, E_#2
    P -820.4341, 600.4742, -501.9090, 240, 0, 0, 3, E_#1

I can confirm that on the 4th spawn, at 20%, he morphs into Akarahotuten and the task ends (no hail, etc.).

You zone out as normal into the real Atikki.

I made my way down to the bottom, killing roamers and mobs in the side rooms except for the first room which is large enough to get by without aggro=ing. When I got to the bottom no Emperor on track just protoplasms, scarabs and some mummies.

Is there something needed to spawn the Emperor?

This is one of my favorite missions out of Katta so far. Seen it as low as 25 Orux, and as high as 50 (Emarr)... I 3 box mage/nec/sham and wife plays cleric, makes this mission quite easy. I Kite the whole mission (Nothing Summons) with necro and use mage for DPS. Only time anyone dies is if I get either an unlucky resist and don't get FD off in time, or cleric's dulcify is resisted. The halls can be a pain to kite in, but having a mage to chain nuke plus the additional pet beating the crap out of the mobs make it a lot easier. Only difficult part is the first part where you are working your way down to the main floor of the temple. There are usually 2 mobs up in the rooms plus a couple wandering the halls, so timeing your dulcify and pulls is essential. Once you get down to the main floor mission is a cake walk. Don't have to worry about double pulls and you have plenty of room to kite. Just make sure you get all the wandering mobs that walk into the main hall or you might get an add. There are 3 wanderer's on the main floor usually. The basement is also easy, just have to clear the halls of the wanderer's like you did on Main Floor. Then just pull the named, nothing assists him in his room so you can just pull him out, kite him down, and move on to the next room. Resists are rare but do happen every now and then. Having just 1 necro usually takes a little over an hour sometimes 1.5 hours if there is a death (I like pets being fully equipped) Have done it before with mag/clr/necro x3 and we had it down to about 30 min, just kept taking turns pulling. Have fun with this mission everyone...

Posting Orux rewards is pointless. It changes often on each server based on how often the mission is done. I have seen it in one hour go from 25 to 29 and then back down.

i thought i had my first successful attempt boxing this. I killed each version until i reduced it another 20% and then moved onto the next one until 20%. When akarahotuten spawns, i hail him/her and nothing happens. I just sit that waiting for the completion and nothing. i sat there until the damn thing regened back to 100% health

update: okay, i now see you have to go back to the original NPC at instance zone in for completion.

is the faction increase for this mission less than say a solteris mission because it seems that it's taking a lot more of these missions to improve faction vs. some of the difficult ones.

yeah the faction scales just like the orux

    solo missions are worth 10
group missions faction reward - orux reward divded by 2

so if this mission is worth 25 orux then that means it gives 12 faction points

-100 to -1 ...looks your way apprehensively (100)

    0 to 99 ...regards you indifferently (100)

    100 to 499 ...judges you amiably (400)
    500 to 749 ...kindly considers you (250)
750 to 1099 ...looks upon you warmly (350)
    1100 to ~2000 ...Ally faction

TO GO FROM APP TO ALLY = 1200 FAC POINTS

just in case anyones wondering this task Does take place in an instanced zone. you zone into the regular atiiki through katta, then once you touch the port pad on the top of the SW pyramid you are zoned into the instance.

    edit:
here is a little more info. i almost just 3 boxed this mission with 75pal/75clr/75wiz , but i wiped once and was kinda taking my time, and i lost.

the quest says it's 6 hours in the game on the task window, but it's actually 3 hours. mobs hit for max 1527 or so. mobs in this instance *do not* repop, and do not summon. it is kiteable, but because of the small area/halls you must fight in it would be pretty difficult. if you try i would suggest pulling mobs back into a big room and kiting there.. and remember you only have 3 hours.

i don't think the boss spawning is actually based off the amount of mobs you kill. When i was running around i noticed a corpse pop from nowhere, it had no name, just " 's corpse" . So in other words there are spots which act as invisible updates as you 'explore' the temple.

efreeti's see invis. photoplasms do not. there's some undea on the bottom floor too.

    second edit:
i've done this quest a few times now, i just finished it in an hour with a full group. the mobs in the rooms that the emporer spawns in DO NOT assist him so you dont even have to clear the rooms, you can pull him Right out . Good farming mission.

it says 6 hours in the Task window, but once you reach 3:15 , it gives you the 'this expedition will come to a close in 15 minutes warning" . i'll have to go double check it again some time just to make sure

Dialouge for the start of the quest with Tuzart:

[Sun Feb 25 22:42:57 2007] You say, 'Hail, Tuzart Relenfold'
[Sun Feb 25 22:42:57 2007] Tuzart Relenfold says 'You are just in time, Eckish. If you are here to aid us you must act quickly.'
[Sun Feb 25 22:43:05 2007] You have been assigned the task 'Fate of the Combine'.

    The task description:

If Prexus is not behind the weakening power source, then we must find out which god has decided to curse us and appease him. Speak to Akarahotuten within the Jewel of Atiiki, for though the answer may come in riddle perhaps it will shed some light on the situation.

    Some notes on the mission:
-Even though it is not listed, you need to kill so many mobs in order for the emp to spawn. I have not counted the number but it is not a lot.
-You do not need to clear the bottom before killing the emp. When he respawns at his next spot, he stays at the percentage he was supposed to poof at. So there is no hurry to get to him and kill him.
-Emp is non aggro in all stages until attacked. He will not assist mobs in his room. I never tested if mobs will assist him though.
-40% is his last form. When he reaches 20% he respawns where he poofs as Akarahotuten. Shortly after you get the last task completion and win.
    -Reward is faction and orux.

EDIT: Sorry tradesman, I just noticed you had some of the info I put in here already posted.
