You say, 'Hail, Sir Hobble'

Sir Hobble holds a cracked monocle up to his squinting eye. 'I say!! A talking bear!! Squire Fuzzmin, come and take a gander at this rare find! The wonders never cease in the land of Kunark!!'

You say, 'Hail, Squire Fuzzmin'

Squire Fuzzmin awakens from a quick shuteye. 'Yawn.. Oh!! Hello. Don't mind the rusty old tin can. Sir Hobble is on a [quest] of sorts. I tell you, I would leave if he did not pay such good wages to carry his equipment.

You say, 'What quest is Sir Hobble on?'

Squire Fuzzmin says 'Sir Hobble is searching for [three special dragons]. For all I know, they're not even dragons. He can't see or hear very well. He still thinks I am the only troll squire around.'

Sir Hobble tries to slash a drachnid webstrander, but misses!

You say, 'What three special dragons?'

Squire Fuzzmin says 'Apparently he is after three dragons which are supposedly named Azdalin, Gylton and Xyfl. He will not rest until he holds their scales. I wish you could [find the dragons].'

You say, 'I will find the dragons'

Squire Fuzzmin says 'If you bring me three scales I will be able to place them upon the next three victims of Sir Hobble. Then we can depart from this accursed isle. He would never know the difference. Do this and I will give you a warrior weapon out of the old knight's armory.'

Get the first two scales from the named wurms in the Burning Woods, Azdalin and Gylton.

For the third scale, you'll have some running around to do. Begin by giving two Carnelians to Tektite, a gargoyle guard in The Overthere:

Tektite takes one hand and pries out one of his eyes, which he casts far into the plains. He then places the carnelian into his eye socket. He turns towards you and holds open his palm.

Tektite pries out his other eye and places the second carnelian gem in its place. His eyes burn brightly with scarlet fire. He then hands you a fragment of Tektite.

(In the alternative, you can kill him to get the Tektite.)

Then take the Tektite to the Temple of Solusek Ro and find Lord Lyfyx of Burwood.

You say, 'Hail, Lord Lyfyx of Burwood'

Lord Lyfyx of Burwood bows as a courtesy. His face gleams as if tinged with red. 'Greetings, my friend. Welcome to the Temple of Ro, sanctuary to those who follow the words of the Burning Prince.'

You say, 'What Burning Prince?'

Lord Lyfyx of Burwood closes his eyes and shakes his head in sorrow. 'Far away and better forgotten.'

You say, 'Who is Doowrub fo Xyfyl Drol?'

Lord Lyfyx of Burwood says 'So you can pronounce my name backwards.. Is that your lot in life? Pronouncing names backwards? Be gone with your silliness! We need no court fool.'

You say, 'What is the Temple of Ro?'

Lord Lyfyx of Burwood closes his eyes and shakes his head in sorrow. 'Far away and better forgotten.'

You say, 'What about dragon scales?'

Lord Lyfyx of Burwood says 'Tektite and peridot shall get you what you desire.'

Hand him the Tektite and a Peridot.

Lord Lyfyx of Burwood places the gems inside an ornate metal box. He begins to tug at his skin. Your vision blurs as he performs his magic. 'This is what you seek. Now leave and bother me no further.'

Your faction standing with Temple Of Sol Ro got better.
Your faction standing with Shadowed Men got worse.
You gain experience!!

Head back to Squire Fuzzmin in Firiona Vie:

You say, 'Hail, Squire Fuzzmin'

Squire Fuzzmin awakens from a quick shuteye. 'Yawn.. Oh!! Hello. Don't mind the rusty old tin can. Sir Hobble is on a [quest] of sorts. I tell you, I would leave if he did not pay such good wages to carry his equipment.

I don't say anything cause I'm diggin in my bags for the scales, and he goes on to say this, twice in a row:

Squire Fuzzmin says 'I need the three dragon scales of Azdalin, Gylton and Xyfyl.'

Squire Fuzzmin tumbles around and stands on his hands. With his feet, he pulls a long polearm from a nearby weapons cache. 'Woohoo!! I can taste the brew in Freeport already. Here you are, my friend. A real Wurmslayer!!'

Your faction standing with Inhabitants of Firiona Vie got better.
Your faction standing with Emerald Warriors got better.
Your faction standing with Storm Guard got better.
Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis got worse.
Your faction standing with Pirates Of Gunthak got worse.
You gain experience!!

The Bucaneer is the PH for Wiltin Windstalker, the Buc. must be kept alive because if he is killed the cycle starts all over again. Wiltin drops the quiver for the Ivy Leggins quest, < Not > the Trueshot bow ( the only thing in OOT for the Trueshot are the Kiola nuts from the sister isle ). FYI : My 53rd lvl ranger solo kited Glyton, it took a while but twas easy, he doesn't summon or any breath weapon, just hits when you get too close. As for Azdalin, hunt near the Giant fort, I've seen him several times near there. I'm not sure if Gullerback is the PH, but we were killing him so tis very possible. Good hunting

I really find it sad that people will make up such stories of a 53 ranger being able to solo a wurm named Glayton in OOT when it clearly shows that the wurm spawns in the Overthere...he even made refrence to The Bucaneer and Whiltin Windstalker..whom actually do spawn in Ocean of Tears. I think he posted this to cover another secret wich I will let out of the bag here. The Bucaneer is the Placeholder to give the Ancient Cyclops the ability to spawn in OOT. The Bucaneer is on a 45 min spawn timer, and I have killed him every 45 min then run back to AC island and killed the Cyclops to get the Ancient Cyclops to spawn. If you kill the bucanner 12 times (every 45 min) and the Cyclops place holder, it should spawn the AC atleast 1 time.

I just love how people will do anything to hide their knowledge of how to make mobs spawn, especially because this guy may have a booming Journeyman Boots MQ business.

Take it for what its worth...

Happy hunting!

The rating is an overall Karma...when posts show a higher than normal rating, that means all my posts combined have been averaged together.

To speak to your point "(12 buck spawns every 45 minutes, regardless of killing him)", 9 hours is not the spawn time for the AC, 36 hours is...and yes killing the Buccaneer does make him spawn faster, however there is more. If you camp the AC you will notice there is a cycle of Cyclops, Boog Mudtoe, Pirate, and Aqua Goblin. If you go and kill all the mobs (Aqua Goblin on Sea Fury isle, Moog Mudtoe (sp), buccaneer, and of course the cyclops PH) the AC will spawn within 4 hours provided you keep them all despawned (which is where the about 4 hours comes from). And yes, there are several "out of the bag" things that guilds keep very quiet once people figure out secrets...I mean...there is a booming JBoot MQ business, and if you could make the spawn pop faster than someone who doesnt know any better, wouldnt you keep it quiet and sell it to them?

Also, you are categoricly wrong about PH's popping by 1 PH, as there are a system of checks that a spawn can include..take many quests out there that you must kill 2 mobs (or make them despawn) before you can get the mob your after.

Perhaps you have a booming Jboot MQ business your trying to protect?

i don't understand why posts like this get high ratings...its kinda a given that if you camp the AC in OOT for 9 hours straight (12 buc spawns every 45 minutes, regardless of killing him) it will spawn...of course, the spawn is not guaranteed with or without killing the bucaneer...so for the 'secret to come out of the bag' suddenly 2-3 years after EQ has been around is far-fetched...it's all about chance, nothing more...i know dozens of people that have gotten AC to spawn being there far less than 9 hours without killing anything but the cyclops that spawns in his place..a placeholder is a mob that replaces the exact spot the mob you are looking for will spawn at, not a mob halfway across the zone on a completely different island in a completely different location

No idea why we are talking about the AC spawn on the Wurmslayer thread.... Just an fyi - the AC pop IS about luck - had a friend sit there for 25 hours straight and NOT get the AC (in OOT). The guy who had given him the camp took pity on his wasted 25 hours and MQed his own piece with my friend.... So anyways it is a random pop.

And yes, he WAS at the correct camp.

I have just finished the quest and was letting you know some little tricks. First of all bring a caster with some high level firebased spells. The problems some people are having is getting Azdalin to spawn. His PH is Gullerback. This is where the fire-based casting comes in. GUllerback is almost completely magic resistant EXCEPT for fire. once dead Azdalin should pop ( and i mean immediatley). Gyltin on the other hand has another name wurm as a PH. Entalon is his PH. sometimes you have to kill Entalon once. Somtimes 5-10 times. But Gylton spawns real close by. however not always immediately after Entalon dies.

Yes the tektite is nodrop. Fuzzmin is a random spawn right? Because I have spent lots of time just sitting there looking at my track wondering if he even spawns in the zone.
is the tektite no drop?

You will need to raise your faction with FV to do this quest - best and fastest way I know is to take the boat from EFP to Ocean of Tears and kill the pirate camp there - this gives you faction with FV. After killing the gnome a lesser spirit pops - dont worry he is the start for the shaman epic quest. Also one of the pirates is a barbarian type called the bucanner and you may get rangers asking you NOT to kill him as if he is left up rangers can do the Trueshot Longbow quest when he depops and something else respawns. This camp is nearly never bothered excpet by bored high levels killing Gornit etc - just announce your camp to get them to leave you alone and you can sit here to your hearts content and raise faction. Lvls are all very low mid 25's so killing them is easy and repop time is fast. One last point just be aware for wandering Clops and Gornit. Hope that helps.

Trueshot bow quest has nothing to do with this island - I know, I've done the quest.
is it possible

is it possible for a lvl 52 wiz to do this
WARNING
# May 23 2002 at 4:26 PM Rating: Default
YOU MUST HAIL Squire Fuzzmin and get him to stop. If you can't do this on your own, bring someone along to do it. If not, you run the risk of the Squire despawning, and you loosing the scales.

Im a 51st level wizard and when myself and my guildies camped in BW, I finally won enough rolls to get both scales. I was after a decent weapon for my honey since she was using a Velium Longsword (GASP!) So first time Hobble spawned, drolvargs were messing with him kinda bad. Fuzzmin spawned inside of the drolvarg compound and needless to say got pummeled quite quickly. 1 hour later, Hobble spawns. I paid a ranger 50pp to track me to him and hail him. Then watch Hobble while that ranger went to Fuzzmin. Both of us just protected the 2 NPCs until Fuzzmin slowed down enough for me to hand the items to him. I had to keep running while handing in the 3 scales so the trade window wouldnt close. Hit Trade, instant wurmslayer.
hes a ok kill

me a level 51 wiz and a 52 and 49 with no problem i think a level 52 to 55 should solo him
Hmmm...

I saw Gylton up as a lvl 47 bard, so I decided to kite him, worked well, I honestly don't know if he casts or not, because I was never within wurm's casting range, although I can tell you he does not summon. As well, same for Azdallin, he doesn't summon. My only problem is Xyfl, I'm thinking of heading to OT and wiping Tekky. I'll see what happens.
Sir Fuzzmin
# Apr 26 2002 at 5:53 PM Rating: Default
OK, Ive gotten all 3 of the scales and Im having a big problem trying to spawn squire fuzzmin. Ive done most of what I have read on how to do the quest includeing hailing the barb chick in the bar and trying to track sir Hobble but I can't find Hobble or Fuzzmin. So If anyone knows a for sure way on how to complete this quest E-mail me at ReDsCaRe777@hotmail.com. thanks

Umm i got a lv 40 druid on rathe i might be interested in doing quest but the zone BW and wurms should be much higher than 40.Can i get the real lvl requirement for quest?
RE: wurmy
# Jul 23 2002 at 8:17 AM Rating: Default
I just soloed the named wurms at level 52 - very easy. Can probably do it at 49+ (maybe a little lower). Only problem is Gullerback (PH) which cannot be snared/rooted - cant run far enough away to get cast nukes. I got lucky and a 60 ranger meleed him for me while I provided some heals. Also got the Tattered Mantle off the brute which will be adorning my ill-equiped warrior.
