This task is the fifth group mission in a series for Solteris access. It follows the mission 'Counter-Attack!'

Tactician Sodut is located in Katta Castrum at about -560 +100 (south courtyard area from the temple zone in).

    You say, 'Hail, Tactician Sodut'

Tactician Sodut says 'Prime Researcher Elnot sent you? I'm sure that we can discover what you need to learn, in time, but first we must finish what we started together. I am confident that Emperor Vaakiszh holds the key you need to save our city, if you are brave enough to [undertake] this final mission.'

You say, 'We will undertake this mission'

Tactician Sodut says 'I knew I could count on you! Excellent. [Alert] me when you are ready to proceed.'

You have been assigned the task 'Confront Emperor Vaakiszh'.

Tactician Sodut has given you one last task. Alert him when you are ready to enter Zhisza and he will help you slip inside the habitat without detection... he hopes.

Tactician Sodut has asked you to enter Zhisza one more time. He believes that now is the time to strike a decisive blow against the Shissar who wish to destroy the Combine. Move to the heart of the Shissar temple and at the highest point of the temple's interior you will find the Emperor. Tactician Sodut believes that if you strike him down you will be able to end the aggression of the Shissar once and for all and restore order to this city.

Kill 5 of the Temple Patrollers

Kill at least five temple patrollers. You should see enough of these on your way up to see the Emperor.

    Confront Emperor Vaakiszh

The emperor is located at the very top of the temple. He is not KOS.

    You say, 'Hail, Emperor Vaakiszh'

Emperor Vaakiszh hisses loudly. 'Why have you come here, Kumbukk? Your [death] can be the only result! I am of Zhisza's line and all in this temple will rally to protect me!'

You say, 'It'll be your death!'

Emperor Vaakiszh says 'Very well, fool! Guards!'

The emperor will summon three waves of shissar adds, 2-3 shissar per wave. Shortly after the third wave, he will become active and summon a final wave.

Emperor Vaakiszh calls forth his guards!

    Kill him.

Search Emperor Vaakiszh for any documents that might be useful

He drops Orders to Vaakizsh (identifies as "A series of orders to the puppet Emperor Vaakiszh"). Someone must loot this item and give it to Sodut.

Return to Tactician Sodut and show him what you've found out

Tactician Sodut says 'Hmm, well, hello there _____. I'm sorry if I seem distracted but right now I fear the entire city may be in danger if I do not unravel this [mystery].'

Receive a positive faction hit with Combine Empire Merchants, a number of Onux.

For progression purposes, you need to complete this 'A City in Peril' mini-task before moving onto the next group mission in the series, 'Where There's a Will'.

We confirmed today that you do NOT need to clear the whole temple. We sneaked past several sections of the temple and left a lot of mobs alive but the only mobs Emperor Zaarisz summoned were the weaker spawned waves of mobs (although they do come VERY rapidly, no more than 30 seconds between waves)

Pretty much nothing on the lowest floor of the temple on the route to the 2nd level sees invisible, but there are many see invis on the 2nd level, and the 3rd level doesn't really have anything you can avoid clearing -- so it's a fairly slow trip to get to the Emperor.
