This task is the 6th in a series of 12. At the end of the previous task, Ciodaru said this:

Ciodaru says 'Those smell divine. Thank you. Keep it for now as I will have you make a box of gifts to give to her. The next item to get for her is a [dress]. A forest green would be divine on her.'

You say, 'I'll get her a dress'

Ciodaru says 'Thank you. Go to Tailor Panya in Crescent Reach. I hear that he is the best tailor around.'

You have been assigned the task 'Ciodaru's Fourth Gift'.

Speak With Panya 0/1 (Crescent Reach)

You say, 'Hail, Tailor Panya'

Your task 'Ciodaru's Fourth Gift' has been updated.

Tailor Panya says 'A dress for a Dryad? That will be awfully small. I think I know just what will work. Follow the instructions on this [pattern]. If you find you need another, just ask me for one. Gather your materials from the mesa the first time so that you are sure to get the proper quality of materials. If you decide to make it later you can get the parts wherever you can find them. If you feel that you do not have the skills to make the dress yourself, you can give the parts to me, pay me ten platinum, and I will make it for you.'

You receive "Shimmering Dryad Dress Pattern".

You get the pattern when you acquire the recipe. Despite the pattern being marked as tradeskill -- it is NOT used in the recipe.

Spiderlings!
# Jan 30 2009 at 6:41 PM Rating: Decent
Well, I've taken a druid around with almost the maximum skill in tracking and haven't been able to even spot one. Thoroughly checked all four corners of the map and then some. I have killed many spiders, in the main spider areas, to see if that would spawn some but have failed for a long while.

I killed spiderlings in other zones and looted spiderling silks but the quest did not accept it. Could I maybe just turn the spiderling silks I have into Panya and maybe the quest will skip over it?
Or does someone know coordinates to the spiderlings?

The larger spiders sometimes spawn several spiderlings.

Kill a dozen or so Mesa recluse spiders and I would imagine you will get plenty of spiderlings....or not...<g>

The Shimmering Dryad Dress Pattern isn't used in the recipe itself for making the Shimmering Dryad Dress even though it has the tradeskill tag. I am guessing that since it has the word "pattern" in it's name it was mistaken for a tradeskill item.

If you got stuck Like I did... then this will make sense,

Note: The extract is found around the Willow in Mesa and at these locs in G Fay: (63, 166); (596, 200); (638, -96); (-411, -57); (962, 814); (-191, 7); (90, -400); (30, -2); (403, -440); (555, -234); (669, 774); (717, 748); (197, -483); (427, -321); ...
Goru`kar Mesa
Greater Faydark (also see Kelethin)
Wakening Land

Now THIS is the bottle neck of the quest... I'm not to smart so it took me about 4 hours to figure this out...

Go to Mesa.. in the AREA with Katryn there are several large trees; go to the one that is LIGHTER in color than the others.. looks like there is a light on it or something but its clearly tan while all the others are brown.

type out /showgrass off

Log out of the game and back in.. be sure the only plants you see now are the sunflower looking Silverspun petals and the trees and any windwillows standing around...

Now on the ground... VERY tiny at the base of the lighter tree you wil see VERY tiny FLAT leaves these will either be Windwillow Acorns or Evergreen leaves.. they are REALLY hard to see they are are so small... I would describe them a one half of a green skittle sitting on the ground. Yeah stupid small.

Okay... loot all the ones you find.. I found 6 Acorns and looted them all.. I came back about 1 hour later and looted them all again and the 5th one it was the Evergreen Leaf.

GL and if you found this helpful please give me a good rating... Other people figured this out... and didn't post it... I'd like to save you a few hours.

(FYI these are ALL over GFay BUT they are green and so is the ground there so they are IMPOSSIBLE to see... the ground in Mesa is brown so they are at least a different color)

**edited to add**

I went back to that Light Willow and I started searching it (as if i didn't have enough) but I discovered alot more drops 5-6 every time, and I got a evergreen leaf every time. I believe my initial searches didn't go far enough from the base of the tree.. just be sure when you search you look hard all around the base of the tree the leaves are all over the place.

Remember if I saved you a ton of time... give me a good rating so this stays up top and someone else can get the help they need.

Been at this two days now, there are NO ground spawns to be seen no matter how slowly and carefully I look. I have tried EVERY tree........

If you look when you pick up the leaves, the dark green leaf is the acorn and the lighter leaf is the evergreen. They stand out real well in the mesa but they are small so you do need to take your time running aound the tree. I guess I am just unlucky. I had to pick up 12 acorns around the great big willow tree up where the Dryad are (Kathryn, Dorina, Hanook) in Mesa before I finally got an evergreen. I got anywhere between 3-5 leaf spawns when picking them up. I never saw any leafs around any of the other trees. After I picked up all the leafs I could find, I would just log off and come back in an hour or so rather than just mindlessly run around the tree. Good luck.

Excellent post thanks much! I just wanted to add that the tree for the leaf is the big one kinda in the middle of the grove. The Silverspun Petals (for another quest) is right next to it. The leaves are tough to spot as the OP said, just move slowly and look closely! Good Luck :)

Ciodaru's Fourth Gift

After completing the first 5 Quests say Dress to recieve this one:

You say, 'Dress'

Ciodaru says 'Thank you. Go to Tailor Panya in Crescent Reach. I hear that he is the best tailor around.'

You are offered task 'Ciodaru's Fourth Gift'
You have been assigned the task 'Ciodaru's Fourth Gift'

Speak with Panya. /loc -1440,-1482,+35 in CR
Panya is located in Second Skin (tailoring shop) on the second floor in Crescent Reach.

You say 'Hail Panya'
Tailor Panya says 'A dress for a Dryad? That will be awfully small. I think I know just what will work. Follow the instructions on this (pattern). If you find you need another, just ask me for one. Gather your materials from the mesa the first time so that you are sure of the proper quality of materials. If you decide to make it later you can get the parts wherever you can find them. If you feel that you do not have the skills to make the dress yourself, you can give the parts to me, pay me ten platinum, and I will make it for you.'

You have been given 'Shimmering Dryad Dress Pattern'

Loot 4 Spider Silk from Mesa recluse.
Loot 1 Mesa Recluse Spinnere.
Loot 4 Snake Skin.
Loot 4 Spiderling Slik from Spiderling.

Mesa Recluse / Large Mesa Recluse can be found in Goru'Kar Mesa along the road headed North. /loc -205,+626,+27. They cast 'Tangleweb' and 'Hemophilliac poison'. It's not as bad as the Snakes 'Slow Venom' and cures fairly easily. There is no Faction hit for killing Mesa Recluse.

Spiderlings commonly spawn from Mesa Recluse corpses.

Snake spawn randomly around the zone and any Snake will drop Snake Skins. They all hit you with 'Slow Venom' which is nasty stuff and resist cures. There is no faction hit for killing Snakes.

Your task 'Ciodaru's Fourth Gift' has been updated.

Create 2 Silk Swatch using Tradeskills.
Creats 2 Silk Thread using Tradeskills.
Dye the Silk Swatches and the Thread.
Create 1 Shimmering Dryad Dress using Tradeskills.
Deliver 1 Shimmering Dryad Dress to Ciodaru.
(Opt) Deliver 4 Spider Silk to Panya.
(Opt) Deliver 1 Mesa Recluse Spinneret to Panya.
(Opt) Deliver 4 Snake Skin to Panya.
(Opt) Deliver 4 Spiderling Silk to Panya.
(Opt) Deliver 1 Dark Green Dye to Panya.
(Opt) Deliver 10 Platinum Pieces to Panya.

The Dark Green Dye is practically a quest in itself. You need a Shaman or Rogue to do basic combines for Evergreen Extract <Evergreen Leaf is a ground spawn on Windwillow Hill under the Willow Tree> (36 Trivial), and a Potter to do the Medium Clay Jar (17 Trivial). After you have those the combine for Dark Green Dye is a Non-Tradeskill no fail trivial in the Medium Clay Jar of Evergreen Extract and Resin.

Your task 'Ciodaru's Fourth Gift' has been updated.

You recieve a Shimmering Dryad Dress.

Return to Ciodaru and hand him the Shimmering Dryad Dress.

Ciodrau says 'That is a lovely dress, it will look divine on Katheryn. Keep it for now as I will have you make a box of gifts to give her. I again hear rumors of an attack on Katheryn. You must (stop) them from hurting her. Please go!'

Ciodaru liked the gift that you made.
You gain experience!!

There were no factions associated with this quest.

Ok after fighting this far, the Dark Green Dye is easy to have a Shaman or Rogue make, and the Jar was simple to make also.

Then combine the Dye, the 2 Swatches and the 2 Threads (seperated of course) in a Loom or tailoring tool and combine to get Forest Green Silk Swatch.

THEN, take and put that and the Spinneret and the 4 snake skins (all seperated) in the loom and combine to get the Shimmering Dryad Dress.

Hope this helps too!

Only issue I found was getting the Leaf, but the posts above were right where to find in Goru'kar Mesa - just need LOTS of patience and walk real slow and stare at ground for tiny darker green things and hope you get one.
