This task is the fifth in a series of twelve. It begins with Ciodaru in Goru`kar Mesa (located in the Minohten camp near spider cave at the northern edge of the camp: -580, +1140).

This is a "solo" task involving tradeskills. OPTIONALLY, the combine may be made by an NPC.

After completing previous task for protecting Kathryn;
[Sat Jan 28 21:58:25 2012] Ciodaru says 'Thank Tunare you were in time. You have been a great help. If you are ready, we can work on the [food] for her gift.'

Head to the second floor of the City of Crescent Reach and see Cook Kosey [ Baking Supplies ]. (located in the Redloe Bakery. Take elevator to second floor then up stairs to raised area with tradeskill vendors and NPCs -1450, -1550).

Take this note and get some fresh windwillow acorns and some earthen ooze. Only the freshes will do, so get it directly from the trees. After you have seen how they look, you can use some that have fallen from the trees, but for your first time, get them fresh. If you feel that you do not have the skills to make the acorns yourself, you can give the parts to me, pay me ten platinum, and I will make it for you.'

Spiced Windwillow Acorn
4 Windwillow Acorns
1 cup of Earthen Ooze Slime
1 pinch of Spices
1 pinch of garlic
1 stick of butter
In your oven, start with the wind willow acorns, then add some slime from and earthan ooze. While this may sound unpalatable, it actually brings out the flavor in the Acorns. Once the liquid in the ooze has cooked off, add butter, spices and garlic. Cook until most of the butter is cooked away.

OBJECTIVE: Obtain windwillow acorns and some earthen ooze slime from beings in Goru’Kar Mesa. Also you will need to acquire spices, butter and garlic, but you can acquire these in any method you prefer.

Loot 4 Windwillow Acorn

Loot from a protector of the windwillow or a tender of the windwillow in Goru`kar Mesa. (located around the outside of Windwillow which is in the center of Goru`kar Mesa. entrance is located -1180, -140)

These acorns can be foraged but those foraged prior to start of task do not update this task. Do acorns foraged during this task update the requirement? Acorns foraged and those looted will stack together. Technically, foraged acorns can be used in the combine or given to Posey. Extra acorns can be sold to Posey for around 5 copper pieces. Essentially, there is no reason to stockpile these acorns because the quest will only update when acquiring acorns after the task has been assigned.

NOTE: My character conned warmly before and after doing this quest twice. This was after I completed many of the killing quests for the Minohten faction and the Nymphs of the Windwillow faction.

There are no faction hits on killing the earthen ooze.

Combine items via Baking Trivial 190. There is an oven behind Cook Kosey. Left Click on it anywhere but on the bread. If you climb in the oven you will get burnt. Items are probably not returned on failure, however this may be a no fail. Attempt made with baking skill of 206 worked on the first try.
What happens on failure?

OPTIONALY, give all items to Kosey and he will combine for you. It costs 10pp.

After giving all items to Kosey the task is updated.

Windwillow Acorns drop from "a protector of the windwillow" and "a

tender of the windwillow" (both treants) in center of Goru'kar Mesa.

Evidently the acorns are also groundspawn, but to have the task update

they must be looted. There are faction hits, but I didn't capture them.

The faction losses seem to be very minor as everyone remains "kindly" no

matter what you do.

Earthen Earth Slime drop from "an earthen ooze" which can be found in

caves nearest Ciodaru in the Mesa. Cave entrance LOC: -540, 1500, 90.

Spices, Garlic and Butter can all be purchased from the Baking Supplies

vendor standing next to Kosey (or maybe it was Cook Kosey himself?), and

there's an oven right there too.

Note that *per the initial text* you should be able to use groundspawn

acorns for the recipe. The loot requirement is stricly for the task

update while doing the quest.

This leads to next quest by saying dress.

The exact name of the quest is Ciodaru's Third Gift.

But there's something I don't understand. This is supposed to give you positive Minohten faction, but this, like the 2nd, requires you to kill and loot the corpses of mobs that give you bad Minohten and Windwillow faction. First wisps, now tender and protectors of the windwillow for the acorns.

This is a little twisted... not only does it make no sense for the faction hits and misses, as it were... but it makes no sense in regard to the storyline of the quest. The satyr is supposed to be trying to win the love of a nymph, so he makes her gifts out of the body parts of her slain companions-in-nature??

Wasn't there a horror movie like that?
