In order to request this task, you must have completed Intercepted Correspondence, Lost Letter, and Confession, or you must have participated in a successful "Kill Kangur" raid previously.

(Note that if you bypass the first three tasks, you will not be able to request further raid tasks from Fergarin.)

This is a 24-person raid task that begins with Fergarin Bardon I in Valdeholm, who is located in the back room behind Wraithguard Heimgul, at +770, -780, -25.

At the end of "Confession," Fergarin mentioned a [dangerous threat].

    You say, 'What dangerous threat?'

Fergarin Bardon I says 'As if we don't have enough problems, what with our own esteemed ancestors climbing the wall trying to kill us, we also have a spider problem. Now obviously this is not an ordinary spider, for it lives in the highest parts of the glacier and fears neither Krithgor nor Shade. She is a massive beast and she comes down to the lake to check on her babies and eat any that grow threateningly large. She also kills dozens of my people while she's at it. If you could [destroy this monstrosity] I would be very grateful.'

You say, 'I will destroy this monstrosity.'

Fergarin Bardon I says 'I wish you luck. Perhaps you will be small enough that you can surprise her, though I wouldn't count on it.'

You have been assigned the task 'Kill Kangur'.

Fergarin has asked you to slay the spider queen known as Kangur Vafta Veor. He believes that she will be on the lake now, eating her young and killing anything that comes near.

Exit the black market area through the Southern Door 0/1 (Valdeholm)

Head to the instanced zone entrance and click on the door (this will be marked on your compass).

Kill Kangur Vafta Veor 0/1 (Valdeholm)

Kangur Vafta Veor is a spider who spawns on the east side of the ice lake in an instanced version of Valdeholm or can be down below in the valley east of where Frostcrypt would be. It can drop:

    - Frozen Heart of the Snow Spider Queen
    - Idol of Kangur Vafta Veor
    - Veil of the Snow Spider

Speak with Fergarin Bardon I 0/1 (Valdeholm)

You say, 'Hail, Fergarin Bardon I'

You have defeated the eight-legged snow queen and her young broodlings! Fergarin is so pleased that he asks you to hold on to some important documentation for him. He now believes that you can protect that documentation. He tells you that he thinks you might be just the right person to help him [deal with a traitor] in his own city.

Everyone in the task receives "Letters of Evidence" and a positive faction hit with Wraithguard Leadership (+200).

Completion of this task gives a 1.5 day lockout timer and opens up the next raid task from Fergarin, "Udengar the Traitor."

Spider is down below in the valley east of where Frostcrypt would be.

Saw the text and got sidetracked figuring it was by the water and not being able to track took me a while to find.

The lockout timer on success for the Kill Kangur raid is 1.5 days.

The minimum number of players to request the raid is still 6. If you don't have 6 players, this can be accomplished with a single group filled out with offline characters.

The instance zone-out is at the same place as the zone-in, a blank door at -1075, -650, 8.

Note on the task itself. Only one person needs to hail Fergarin at the end for the entire raid to get the letter.

earlier this week we were doing this for a low number raid to get fast cheap loot and get a raid wide WGL faction hit, cuz the first 2 times the raid stayed in the instance while I ran back to hail(btw you get the lockout at kill now, but still need to go hail for the raid to get letters) and they got the faction hit when I hailed.... but the third time no one BUT me got the faction hit, and I had hit max ally. Any clue why the raid didn't get the hit inside the last time when they did the first two?
Need to do a subquest in order to get to

At a minimum, you need ally faction with Wraithguard Leadership faction AND have completed the Bypass Heimgul solo task in order to reach Fergarin Bardon I in order to get this task. The solo task is simply to give Wraithguard Heimgul three mark of rallos zek which drop in Frostcrypt off of pretty much any mob.

We beat this yesterday shortly after my other post, here is the rest of the info.

There are three steps to the task, not two, and the second one listed here isn't even correct. Here are the three steps:

    1. Exit the black market area through the Souther Door
    2. Kill Kangur Kafta Veor
    3. Speak with Fergarin Bardon I

    -------------------

People were abusing this raid by killing the spider and then not speaking with Fergarin after (to get loot and avoid lockouts). They fixed this and now:

Upon killing the spider you get an update for both step #2 and step #3 and the task is complete, even though you do not actually speak with Fergarin. Everyone in the raid receives the Letters of Evidence.

    -------

Upon killing the spider you receive this yellow-text dialgoue:

You have defeated the eight-legged snow queen and her young broodlings! Fergarin is so pleased that he asks you to hold on to some important documentation for him. He now believes that you can protect that documentation. He tells you that he thinks you might be just the right person to help him [deal with a traitor] in his own city.
You have been given: Letters of Evidence

This is no longer the case. After killing the spider - it does lock the task, but does not complete step 3 or give out the letter. You must go back and do the hail to complete the task and get the letter. (I guess the problem of farming this died out <snicker>

Welcome. Also there is no lead-in dialogues. Completion of the third group task is what gives you an emote guiding you to the next. The whole quest line works this way - yellow text emotes upon completion of the task, telling you the dialogue to use for the next one. Here is the quest that refers to this, which I posted the info for but still not updated:

    Exact Location of NPC(Fergarin)

    770, -780, -25

    ---------------------------

The dialogue you have here is completely wrong. This dialogue is for the first quest, you need to remove the whole thing starting with "Hail, Fergarin Bardon I" and ending with "perhaps disprove these rumours". It really looks like someone copy/pasted the first quests dialogue to the entire quest line and it really doesn't work that way. There is actually a storyline to this whole quest line. Here is the proper dialogue for this task from start to finish for the top:

    You say, 'dangerous threat?'

If you could [destroy this monstrosity] I would be very grateful.'

You say, 'I will destroy this monstrosity.'

Fergarin Bardon I says 'I wish you luck. Perhaps you will be small enough that you can surprise her, though I wouldn't count on it.'

    -----------------

Task description: Fergarin has asked you to slay the spider queen known as Kangur Vafta Veor. He believes that she will be on the lake now, eating her young and killing anything that comes near.

Exit southern door to get to the lake.

is actually just a hail, the Note that you get with the task completion is for the next raid task (and is the key to winning it as well)

Also the Task Locks when the spider dies

Does completion of this task open up the next raid task, 'Udengar the Traitor'?

    yes
