This ring event is started with either Fishlord Craiyk or Fishlord Lezom in the Reef of Coirnav.

A group with crowd control is recommended.

You say, 'Hail, Fishlord Craiyk'

Fishlord Craiyk says 'Be like the water ______. The water spirits have fortold of your coming. I am a fishlord, summoner of the dwellers of the deep.'

You say, 'What dwellers'

Fishlord Craiyk says 'These are great creatures that dwell in the nether reaches of this reef. For 100 platinum I will summon them forth.'

Give him 100 platinum.

Fishlord Craiyk says 'Very well, I will summon forth the creatures of the deep. They do not like being disturbed so you must protect me from harm. I am very vulnerable when summoning the dwellers of the deep. If death claims me the summoning will be finished. During the course of the summoning many powerful dwellers will appear. You must watch for them.'

Fishlord Craiyk says 'Listen oh spirits of water! I summon forth the dwellers of the deep.' He then begins to hum softly closing his eyes and seemingly settling into a deep focus. Suddenly he shouts a mystical chant saying, 'XAX XAX tomae tomae XAX podiggle podiggle XAX AZKHAZKKKY!''

Basic wave mobs:

'a reef anglerfish' (level 65)
'a fierce anglerfish' (level 65)
'a ferocious anglerfish' (level 65)
'a furious anglerfish' (level 65)

These have no special abilities: no rampage, flurry, or enrage. They Hit in the 600 dmg range.

Fishlord Craiyk says 'A dweller of some power comes, prepare yourself.'

This occurs at random points throughout the event, and indicates that the fishlords are about to spawn a stronger mob that may drop loot. These include, in order of appearance:

'a hungry anglerfish' (level 68)
'a stringy anglerfish' (level 68)
'a wicked anglerfish' (level 69)
'a toughened anglerfish' (level 68)
'a foul anglerfish' (level 69)
'a dark anglerfish' (level 69)
'a superior anglerfish' (level 70)
'a prime anglerfish' (level 70)
'a prismatic anglerfish' (level 70)
'a king anglerfish' (level 71)
'a master anglerfish' (level 71)

These mobs do not flurry, rampage, or enrage. They hit between 800 and 1,100.

Finally, you'll see:

Fishlord Craiyk says 'I sense a creature of immense power has been summoned forth. My job here is finished. You all have done very well for mortals.'

The final mob can either be 'a supreme anglerfish', 'a master anglerfish' or 'a king anglerfish', and is level 71. It hits for a max ~1,300, flurries, and enrages.

The guild "Zurdula Inc" has found 2 drops not listed for this event :
Seascale Talisman
Enormous Seascale

Also should be noted that glyphed rune words / spectral parchments drop frequently as well.

I think all the drops from jjdillon's post have been confirmed to come from fishlord event also.

Thanks, added all those items as rewards and gave them a raid tag (including jjdillon's post).

As last I got 2 other mobs :
a king anglerfish
a master anglerfish
wall spawn - a furious anglerfish

The fourth fish on the list, "a furious anglerfish" is visible to me in the wall as "a furi///////" that fades in and out of clipping through the wall,
The sticking point is at /LOC (+117.77, -306.33, -368.98)
All I am getting now are the typical are spawns of "a reef anglerfish"

Okriu tried using SHD spell "Wave of Enfeeblement" to no avail.
I tried using BRD song "Protan's Melodic Binding" - nope.
I then clicked "Mask of the Grumpy Goblin" to be smaller than an elf, hoping I could squeeze closer to the wall to allow my song to cast beyond the clipping of the wall. Looks like it worked, the last fishy I noticed killed was the "stringy" one. I'm still getting many common "reef" spawns, but more "ferocious" ones are spawning so I think I got lucky.

Addition, I have to keep my nose in wall since about 1 OUT OF 3 spawns OUTSIDE the playable area. Sure hope the better fishies spawn where I can /loot them.

6+ hours??

Tried this today, and it took over 6 hours before I saw the final mob in the event. I used Fishlord Craiyk to start the event. I noticed early that there was a mob that spawned in the wall, and I couldn't seem to pull it. I always had a steady wave of 2 mobs coming at me though, 1 from each end of the room. I think I saw all 9 of those stronger mobs that are listed. Over 6 hours later, the final mob of the event spawns. It was a supreme anglerfish. The info in the quest description about the supreme anglerfish needs to be updated, it says that it doesn't enrage but it does.

I also tried using the other Fishlord yesterday to do this event. There was also a mob that spawned in the wall that I couldn't pull. There were never more than 1 mob at a time, unless one of the stronger mobs spawned. I tried for over 4 hours, and only saw 3 of the stronger mobs spawn so I gave up.

After reading other posts about this event, I expected it to take somewhere around 3 hours. It took over 6 hours, and I highly doubt I'll be trying this again any time soon.

Been farming this event lately in hopes of getting cleric ear click and found some useful information in 2 and a half runs or so. In those run only 3 loots have dropped from the 9 mini named, 2 Amulet of the Starfish's and 1 Sharkbone Earring. The amulets came from A Dark AND A Wicked anglerfish while the earring dropped from a supreme anglerfish. This gives some support to the theory that the mini named share a loot table. In any case loot (excluding spell handins) is extremly rare, like 1/6. The last thing i noted is that when i finished the fishring from Craiyk the boss wasnt a supreme anglerfish it was A King Anglerfish hit for ~ 1300 aswell but rampaged instead of flurried. Spawned exactly 3 hours after start too and dropped the Shellplated Armguards. Will post more info as i keep throwing myself at this boring event for the ivu click.

-- When the Fishlord is spawned into starting the event, he moves from the far end of the cavern (his starting spot) which is overlooking the huge canyon where Ofossa resides. He swims back down the cavern to approximately a halfway point and stops, whereupon mobs spawn at 3 differant locations -- both ends of the chamber, and sometimes directly on the Fishlord.

-- Mobs path to the Fishlord, where they aggro him. You can intervene prior to them aggroing, but there is a benefit to not doing so, i.e.:

-- The Fishlord is level 40, but he's a surprisingly tough customer for his level. He takes approximately 6% health damage for every 1% he deals to enemy mobs, and does not go down very fast, in my guesstimation it'd take at least 60 seconds for a mob to solo him down. Once attacked, he fights back until the mob is dead, then takes approximately 10-30 seconds to reset and swim back to the center. I theorized that getting him into combat might stop him from continuing the spawning cycle, but that didn't turn out to be the case.

-- The minor names that he spawns, he spawns outside of the normal event progression cycle, which is to say that while he pops the minis on the death of a trash mob, he still keeps churning out trash. This can lead to some slightly hairy situations where you can have 3-4 trash mobs in camp + 1 named.

-- Sadly, there's no way to speed up the event. If you go to do this, you're looking at about a 3 hour investment of time if you want to finish it out.

The following items have been listed as dropping "from the ring". My theory is that any of these items can drop from any of the mobs, I will update and confirm as I can.

Putrid Chunk of Moss
Abalone Earring (already attributed to 'a toughened anglerfish', a ring miniboss)
Amulet of the Starfish
Sharkbone Earring
Ornate Coral Armguards

Fishlord Craiyk regards you indifferently -- You could probably win this fight.

<Both Fishlord Craiyk and Fishlord Lezom give identical text>

<Various anglerfish then begin to spawn, in waves of 1, 2, or 3. At varying intervals after disposing of waves, a stronger mob that can drop loot will spawn with the following announcement from the Fishlord>

Fishlord Craiyk says 'A dweller of some power comes, prepare yourself.'

<3 hours later, when the ring event reached its final mob...>

Fishlord Craiyk says 'I sense a creature of immense power has been summoned forth. My job here is finished. You all have done very well for mortals.'
