This task is the second in a series of three. It begins with Jenray, Envoy of Ro, who is found in the Direwind Cliffs in a tent just outside the lava moat to the right of the Ashengate zone.

You say, 'Hail, Jenray, Envoy of Ro'

Jenray, Envoy of Ro peers down at your weapons with a glaring eye, 'You had best sheath those weapons before I take them from you, ____.'

If you hail again without unequipping your weapon, Jenray will attack. And don't expect assistance... who wants to ruin their Scholars of Solusek faction?

    After sheathing your weapons...

You say, 'Hail, Jenray, Envoy of Ro'

Jenray, Envoy of Ro says 'Welcome, Troll, to our humble encampment. Warm yourselves by our flame and rejoice in the many [gifts] that Solusek Ro bestows upon his faithful.'

    You say, 'What gifts?'

Jenray, Envoy of Ro says 'You may have been blinded, as I once was, by the mundane powers of Norrath's pantheon. But look around you now. Evidence of Solusek's influence and omnipotence abound. What would this world be with a sunless sky, hmm? And this simple campfire has the ability to warm, to cook meals, or to burn the unfaithful. Now consider the earth upon which you are standing. This extended mountain range exists because HE WILLS IT SO. What other deity can claim that kind of [superiority]?'

    You say, 'Superiority?'

Jenray, Envoy of Ro smiles, 'Ah, ____. You deserve to see for yourself. Allow me to show you the miracles so you will understand.'

You have been assigned the task 'A Daring Rescue!'

My daring assistant Hidaga, was on a mission to locate the whereabouts of the infamous Arbiter of Ash, a being of ancient legend. Though she is more than capable of handling herself in the field, after a few days with no word we began to worry about her safety. She should have returned by now. If you find yourself in Ashengate, keep an eye out for both Hidagaard (sic) and the Arbiter. I have a feeling that if you find one, you'll find the other.

Kill 1 Arbiter of Ash 0/1 (Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale)

The arbiter can be found in the large stone cavern that is almost at the far end of the west wing of Ashengate. Either the named "Arbiter of Ash" or the trash mob "an arbiter of ash" will update this step.

If looking for the actual named mob, the ashen dervish is its place holder.

Locate Hidaga and ensure she makes it to safety 0/1 (Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale)

Hidaga spawns at Loc 1370, 730, -135. This is at the east end of the bottom of the cavern. She appears when the arbiter dies. Hail her for the task update. She remains up for an appropriate amount of time, allowing up to 12 hails.

    You say, 'Hail, Hidaga'

Hidaga breathes a sigh of relief and brushes some of the ashes from her crimson robe, `Wait until Jenray hears about what happened!'

    Hidaga then despawns...

Hidaga says 'Thank you so much for finding me. I must go, before I end up stuck here again!'

This also updates upon defeating "an arbiter of ash". Makes it quicker as you do not need just the named.

The safest camp spot is a ledge, right above where Magmaraug spawns, loc is pos 1437 pos 913, neg60. The ledge has no wanderers.

The challenge is getting TO it.

You can do a lot of this without fighting, since the aggro range is rather small. But the mob density is high, adds are very easy to get into a fight and battling two of these hard-hitters at once is very challenging.

Once you get to this spot, clear the two slimes that spawn on the platform below. This is where Magmaraug can appear, keep in mind. He's much tinier than the other slimes so you can almost step on him before you see him. Be warned!

Then you can pull the placeholders and eventually Arbiter of Ash, since he wanders in the corridor right below this lower platform. You will need a way to split since it's hard to get singles without FD or snare/CoH/evac. A mage is worth his weight in plat in this camp.

Now if you kill Arbiter of Ash up on this platform, don't expect Hidaga to spawn at his corpse. She has her own spawn spot across the room in a crevice on the lowest level. You will have to make your way to this spot. It can be accomplished without fighting by moving carefully---VERY carefully---along the wall. You will need LEV and some luck.

It's possible to get aggro'd while hailing Hidaga. I suggest you drop down behind her and be ready to hail immediately. Unlike in the past, she does NOT despawn quickly anymore. Hell, she was still up an hour after 3 of my toons hailed her. So caution is indicated here since you don't want to die rushing to get a quest update when you have plenty of time to handle it.

Obviously you won't get the update if you yourself are dead when the Arbiter dies so I suggest if you're doing this quest, watch your aggro. My wizard managed to get aggro and die during the fight so now I have to do it all over again for her! Next time she's sitting in the corner and behaving herself...
