This task unlocks after completing the previous task in the series and gaining level 35.

All dragons give the same quests. Every five levels you may obtain the task to receive the next level of innate breath, up to level 75.

You say, 'Hail, Draton`ra, Master of the Void'

Draton'ra, Master of the Void says, 'You are wise to address me formally. I will tolerate nothing less than th e greatest respect, even from one of my own brood. Whether you come to me willingly or not, you must commit to my ways or you will meet your death. You will be a shining example as my offspring or you will suffer -- oh yes, you will. If you dare and are prepared, you can admit to me that you are [committed].'

You say 'committed'

Draton'ra, Master of the Void says, 'Your timing is good, {name}. I have a task for you. I want you to dispatch a creature that is, and of itself, despicable. It is called the Enchanted Shrubbery and I see it as an affront to all purposeful and worthwhile magic. I would so enjoy touching it with death myself, but I would hope you are up to the task. Go to Stone Hive and do what you will to make my point -- pluck its leaves, torture it with slow disease, chop it into splinters. I only care that it suffers for its humiliating existence.'

Collect 1 Enchanted Vines from Enchanted Shrubbery 0/1 - Stone Hive

North of the Hive itself is a little grassy field with a bunch of saplings, all of which serve as PHs.

Deliver 1 Enchanted Vines to Draton`ra, Master of the Void 0/1 - Crescent Reach

You receive the ability to cast Breath of Draton'ra (level 7).

Need all dialogues, /loc of quest mobs, faction hits if any, hand-in emotes, any other missing information.

I just did this quest for the 4th time last night with my 38 necro. Ran in with Gather Shadows up, and pet of course. Went immediately to the area just north of the palace and there the Enchanted was, with a bunch of other shrubs. If you wish to avoid aggro from other shrubs, wait a minute or two if it's in a group. It will path east and out of aggro range of the others.

Conned dark blue at 38 and was pretty easy to kill with DoTs and pet with a bit of magician-summoned gear.

The first 3 times I did this I did have to camp for a bit (about 4 hours the first time.) What worked for me was simply wiping the area clean of hedges and waiting for the Enchanted to spawn. At 35ish you're getting fair xp, so why not? (Miscellaneous shrubs were light blue at 38.) Bring a friend for added fun, dps, and, JEEZ, someone to talk to if it takes several hours.

IF you want to kite it, just be careful to stay somewhat east of the other shrubs, I'm thinking a north-south kite path would be effective and safe. CAUTION: Non-shrub mobs will aggro also, especially those damn lotuses.

I also got enchanted vine and could not get my upgraded breath. My quest journal shows I have completed the collection of the enchanted vine but my dragon keeps telling me he has no use for it. What's up?

"I have no use for this"
# Apr 19 2008 at 7:42 PM Rating: Decent
Do you need allied faction for the turn in? I have amiable faction and my dragon tells me "I have no use for this" when i give him the vines, yes im sure I have the right dragon and right item. anyone else have same problem?
Rediculous for its level.
# Apr 19 2008 at 10:41 AM Rating: Decent
For a level 35 quest, this is just rediculous, ive spent about 10 hours now farming this crap, my monk is now level 61 I still have not seen this Enchanted Shrubbery. This is not an epic quest, this is just a quest so I can continue to quest my breath higher, I am really worried about the rareity of the lvl 40 quest, and 45, and 50, this quest is absolutely rediculously rare for the quest that it is.
Correct Mob List
# Feb 17 2008 at 2:05 PM Rating: Decent
As others have posted, the location is north of the hive. The mobs spawn on a grassy flat area between the hive and the flowers, pollen gatherers, and so on. The flowers and nearby mushrooms are quite aggressive, but if you place yourself on the downslope to the east of the flat grassy area and midway between the hive and the zone wall, you should be out of agro range.

However, the list of PH mobs that others posted was not what I encountered. The mobs I had to kill to get the Enchanted Shrubbery to spawn were:

Animated Vinewalker
Sentient Growth Spirit
Enchanted Hedgewalker
Shambling Shrub<something>

So far as I could see, there are a total of 5 PH mobs all of them randomly one of the 4 above and (eventually) the Enchanted Shrubbery. It took me 5 cycles to get the Enchanted.

Note that these mobs are casters, so have your magic resist up.

Be sure to hunt in the right place

Do not bother with the enchanted vines when you first enter. Go BEHIND the Hive and sit at the top of the hill (where it starts to drop fast) midway between hive and wall. Kill all the bushes that spawn there till the Enchanted SHRUBBERY pops. This is the only one that will drop the Enchanted Vines. Snare or Root will keep your mobs from running and pulling in adds. Best to keep your mob on the slope to help avoid adds. Hope this helps.
Wasn't too bad

Killed 4 and it popped. It's all in how you hold your tongue :)
Very easy quest

I found the secret to making this a Very easy quest.

I have 2 Drakin and after reading the posts here, I thought I was looking toward several days to complete the quest twice.

It took 4 hrs of trying differant tactics, then I logged on my lev 60 chanter and killed every shrub in the zone and the next spawn the Enchanted Shrub popped.

BUT, when it popped I noticed something odd. There are 5 shrubs that pop on the north side along with the Enchanted Shrub. They were all Animated Hedges.

I had a theory as to what the REAL PL was, but didnt have time to test it. Had to camp.

The next day I logged on to test my theory and get my second Enchanted vine.

This is what I discovered.

There were 5 Animated Hedges up and 1 Sentiant Hedge.
I KILLED ONLY The Sentiant Hedge and waited for it to respawn. The next hedge to spawn in it's place was another Animated Hedge.
I quickly got a Loc on it and killed it. Sure enough the Enchanted Shrub popped in its place.

It dropped the Belt, 2 vines and the Enchanted vine.

Total time to complete quest the 2nd time. 40 min's.

I waited to see what would pop in place of the Dead Enchanted Shrub.
Sure enough, it was the Sentiant Hedge.

So, the real key to this quest is: There must be 5 Animated Hedges up and it is only the 6th hedge you must kill and make sure you get a loc on the one that pops in its place.
Keep killing only that one til the Enchanted one pops and you get the drop.

GL and hope this makes it easier for others.

the next round i had 3 animated, 1 enchanted, 2 sentinent and the Encahnted Shrubbery. I just killed all of them each round.

took 4 cycles to pop it. Good luck to all.

When I reached the camp at the top of the hill there were several animated hedges and one enchanted hedge, I got excited and thought the mob I needed was already up, after I killed the enchanted hedge and didn't see the quest item on it I realised it was not the mob I needed.

Fortunately the next mob to spawn was the Enchanted Shrubbery.
Very easy quest

did as this said to do and camped the Vines to the North of the hive...small group and easily soloable for my 49 SK (doing this a bit late) spawned on 3rd or 4th cycle for me....and not quite 20 min timer but i could be wrong....hardest part was getting it to spawn....mob was surprisingly easy and took it down without even a Virtue or Temp on me (it wore off as i was waiting) dropped Vine pice and a belt.....easy camp

For the Fire dragon, Breath of Atathus, this does 100 points normally of Direct Damage to any opponent in front of you... including through walls. Be Careful- you may train yourself with this!
