Scout Ethaniel may be found at /loc -230, -1700.

This task is unlocked after completing the previous task, "Bixie Plans."

    You say, 'Hail, Scout Ethaniel'

Scout Ethaniel says 'Though the council will interpret the true motives of the bixies from the plans you gathered, I did manage to grasp that the bixie use various slaves for some of the labor their farm requires. The plans mention that the Bixies use a substance which brings about a haze upon the hapless victim. Even if you found the slaves, you might not be able to free them from the Bixie's mental sway. Will you help us locate some of this [concoction] that the Bixies are using?'

You say, 'I will locate some concoction.'

You have been assigned the task 'Bixie Thralls'.

Scout Ethaniel says 'I suggest you infiltrate the farm house, find the thralls and see if you can discover some of this haze inducing substance. Then you'll need to bring it back to Alchemist Mavin in Crescent Reach, who can hopefully create an antidote. Once you have this, head back to the thralls and free them with it.'

Scout Ethaniel has discovered that the Bixies use slaves to work their jumjum farm. You will need to free them by first discovering what creates the slaves in the first place, getting Alchemist Mavin in Crescent Reach to create a cure, then give the antidote to the slaves.

Find the entrance into the bixie farm 0/1 - Blightfire Moors

    Task updated at /loc -720, -2025.

Enter the farmhouse 0/1 - Blightfire Moors

Task updated upon entering the farmhouse at /loc -1650, -2930.

Find some of the Haze Powder 0/1 - Blightfire Moors

There is a named Bixie inside the farm called "The Farm Alchemist". It hits for 94 max, flurries, and heals itself. Kill it and loot Bixie Haze Powder.

Bring the Haze Powder back to Alchemist Mavin 0/1 - Crescent Reach

Head to Crescent Reach and turn in the Bixie Haze Powder to Alchemist Mavin at /loc -1420, -1605, +35 on the second floor of Crescent Reach.

Alchemist Mavin says 'Here, I have managed to create an antidote for the Bixie's Haze Powder. Give these to the thralls and they should wake up from their sleepless slumber.'

You receive 6 x Bixie Haze Antidote.

Use the Antidote on the thralls and escort them to safety 0/5 - Blightfire Moors

Inside of the bixie farmhouse and the jumjum refinery you will find "a thrall" in various places. They will not respond to hails. Give one of them a Bixie Haze Antidote.

a thrall blinks and rubs their eyes a bit. 'Wha...what happened? Where am I? Wait...it's all coming back to me now...Please! You must help me to escape this fiendish farm!'

Upon this emote "A bixie guard" will spawn nearby and attack the thrall. If the thrall is hit the thrall will attack back. The thralls seem to have a decent amount of hit points so it's no real danger. Other bixies in the area will assist the guard but once the guard is dead the thrall will begin to path back towards the camp that Scout Ethaniel is in whether or not you are stilling fighting adds. "A Bixie Guard" seems to be the only thing KoS to the thrall. Other mobs will not attack it while it is pathing back. Once a thrall reaches the camp...

a thrall says 'I have been freed from the grip of the bixies, I thank you.'

He will then despawn. You need to do this a total of 5 times to complete this task step.

Speak with Scout Ethaniel 0/1 - Blightfire Moors

    You say, 'Hail, Scout Ethaniel'

Ethaniel straightens up as you approach, having freed all of the thralls. He informs you that the former thralls will be taken to Crescent Reach where they will be tended to. He thanks you most profusely and hands you his very own sword as a reward.

Your faction standing with Circle of the Crystalwing got better.
    You gain experience!!

I have not yet done these quests but want to thank you all for the detailed and painstaking descriptions you have given. I feel much better prepared to try the quests now.

    1. Turn-in --> [A bixie guard] spawns --> kill it --> look for next thrall, no need to escort all the way to camp.
    2. If you are 3 boxing, turn in antidote one toon by one toon, need total 15 times.
    Things to consider

    1) Clear the house before you start, there are mobs by the thralls
    2) When you give a thrall the powder, a Guard will spawn in the Alchemist room and come down the hall to kill the Thrall. You need to get and keep aggro or the Guard will kill the thrall. Pets and teammates are great for this. If you dont have that, make a beeline for the hallway and kill the Guard.
    3) Careful tab targeting, you will target your thrall. If you engage your thrall, they wont stop beating on you. I pulled a pissed off one to camp and did not get credit lol.
    4) The Guards are the only mobs that aggro on the thralls. Not sure about mobs in the house since I cleared it. Once you're out, its pretty easy as nothing aggros on the way.
Will need a group or be high level to finish quest now

When you give a thrall an antidote and you kill the guard that shows up the thrall goes on his way. It seems that the quest is bugged or broken because you no longer get just one guard appearing.
After killing the alchemist and getting having Mavin make the antidote I went back and gave it to one of the thralls in the farthest room. Immediately the merc exited the room and the thrall started walking away. I went to see what merc was up to and he was engaged with the alchemist and 4 other bixies. After a couple of min of fighting and the merc about to die I just gated to PoK where I was bound. I immediately zoned back in and went back to farm house revived merc and buffed up again. I figured the merc must have aggored something else instead of the bixie guard that is supposed to attack the thrall. So I went to back room again and tried again with merc on passive and immediatly had the alchemist, two guards, an enfocer, a slaver and the wandering one attack me. Had to gate again. Went back and killed the alchemist and the two in the front room and one in the back. Gave the antidote again and immediately had 3 on us 2 guards and an enforcer. Within a min two more bixies joined. Was able to kill 2 of them and run (I used Worn Totem to get away). Finally lost those chasing me. After reviving merc and buffing up went back again, alchemist was not there. Went in far back room again and gave the antidote and immediately got jumped by Alchemist, 2 or 3 guards and an enforcer. Was trying to keep Thrall alive by aggroing everything and was able to charm a guard and the thrall started walking away. Soon the merc said I'm outta here and I had to run. I finally lost the last of the bixies with 3 bulbs of life left. Tried it a fourth time and got attacked by 4 bixies with 1 more joining later -- same results. Just 1 merc out of all the attempts made it back, sigh.
One thing I did not try was giving an antidote, letting merc fight them while giving the antidote to the rest of the thralls and then running. I suspect the outcome would be the same as I think as soon as merc died the guards would go after the thralls and since they walk slow they would probably still be in aggro range.
So it seems at this time to safetly complete the last part of the quest you will need to be probably mid 40s(?) or have a group.
Hope this helps you plan your approach.

I have no problem getting to pop--- normally there when i walk in the door. you probably are in the wrong building, go farther down in the zone ( to the next very large building) it is in the front room and thralls are in the back rooms. there are slavers and enforcer and warriors there also.

If use all of your antidote before completing the quest. Get another Haze Powder from the farm alchemist and hand it over to Alchemist Mavin in Cresent Reach. In return, she will give you more antidote so that you may complete your quest.

How to complete the quest easily
    # Jun 21 2012 at 10:16 AM Rating: Excellent
I started this chain of quests at level 30 and finished being level 36. Im a bard.

The alchy is in the big farmhouse with two adds. I was no KOS so I walked in. If you stay near the wall where the alchy is you have less chance to aggro both adds, mostly like just the one. I charmed the lesser mob and sent it on the alchy. The alchy heals so the fight takes a while. Between me, my merc tank, and the charmed pet, it takes about 5 minutes to kill. You will also get 1 to 2 adds in this fight. Just keep the bixie as your pet and always take out the adds first.

Once you do the haze trade in the quest gets super easy. Go to the little house closest to the entrance to the farm, there is one thrall here. Sometimes there is an add or roaming mob inside but it is very rare. Once you do the hand in one to two mobs spawn outside and come in. One is a guard and is the only mob that might attack the thrall. The other is just a regular bixie. Charm the bixie and use it as your pet to attack the guard. If the thrall walked outside without being attacked you are fine, it will get back to the camp by the time you are done fighting. DONT USE AEs near the thrall, it will aggro you. If it is getting attacked just melee and nuke the guard til its dead.

After you kill the guard wait about 1 to 2 minutes, another thrall will pop. Dont waste you time going to the other thralls. This one is the easiest with the smallest chance for adds. The whole portion of the quest takes about 10 to 15 minutes. And thats pretty good considering that is a total of 5 turn ins. The thralls walks at a normal rate, the same as the scout in the beginning. Since you are most likely fighting when hes walking dont stress it.

This quest is repeatable and since all the weapons are great, why not!

..........you kill the Bixie Guard that spawns, you do not have to actually escort the incredibly slow Thrall. They can safely get to the NPC camp alone. After saving the 5th one, you may as well AFK for 10 minutes... they are that slow!

Once you kill the guard, nothing else will aggro on a thrall. So, give a thrall the antidote, kill a bixie guard when he spawns, and then move onto the next thrall and give him the antidote. The first thrall will just walk back to Ethaniel on his own and the quest will update when he arrives, whether you're actually present or not.

It's a lot faster than escorting them, since thralls walk back to camp.

I did this quest recently and liked it up to the the farm alchemist part. If you try to pull anything out of the building it seems they path back and forth aggroing anything else in the house. I died a couple of times while trying to get the alchemist single. I got frustrated and logged on my chanter and slaughtered everything but the alchemist and left the alchemist out side of the house and then logged my lowbie mage back in for the kill.

I also had the same thing happen with the thrall inside the farm house. Luckily I had another antidote left and gave it to the one at the jumjum jar shack outside.

One note on the Bixie Guards I encountered....not all of them were the same caster type if they were a caster at all. I had some not cast at all and some nuke me with wiz/mage spells and the last one I fought was casting charm/mez.

One bonus from doing this quest though. I looted one of those booster packs for LoN from the farm alchemist.
    Thraw Quest Bug...

Confirming the post from Nov 19th. I came here looking to see if anyone else had the same issue with the Thraw not returning after the Bixie Guard fight. I assume the Thraw was mezzed as I was. Once the mez wears off, the Thraw just stands there. I found that if you kill the Thraw, you can get your antidote back. Then wait for him to respawn for another attempt. This will save you a trip back to town for more antidote.

not really worth it for the charisma enchanter
    # Jan 03 2007 at 4:49 PM Rating: Decent
It's easy to rescue the thralls as an enchanter. Just give the thrall the antidote then mez the guard. the thrall will wander away. the reward though, the staff of the hiveslayer is not that great. I've been carrying 2 opal encrusted steins for +25 Charisma each. Equip'ing the staff equals a loss of 18 charisma. plus, we shouldn't be trying to hit anything with it anyway. The HP and Mana boost are alright, but I really don't think that outweighs the loss of cha.

Charisma is not only useful for purchasing items. It is also necessary for charm type spells (calm, pacify, mezzes, etc.) and for controlling your pets and charming mobs to be a pet for you. I believe
      that
is more often the reason for having it on something other than a beer stein (which all of my low to mid level toons use to purchase major items of trade skill items in bulk).

    antidote
    # Dec 14 2006 at 5:49 PM Rating: Decent
you will get 6 antidotes for the turn in of the Haze powder to Mavin... one more than the 5 you will need for the quest, however, I suggest that you kill at least 2 of "The Farm Alchemist`s". This will get you 12 antidotes.
I had 3 Thralls die on me cuz I could not kill the guard fast enough. Having the extra antidote will save some time.

also, you do not need to follow the Thralls once the guard has been dispatched. They will return to Ethanial on their own and update your quest.

    A Bixie Guard - Bugged?
    # Nov 19 2006 at 7:34 AM Rating: Decent
The Bixie Guard is a caster. Spells it casted on me were tash, slow and mez. It also casts Cancel magic. Now i gave the thrall the antidote, guard comes along so trying to take care of that. Guard will cast on both me and thrall, and will mez both as well. When the guard was finally taken care of, the thrall just stood there not moving. I tried giving another anotidote and you get the message:
a thrall says 'Thank you but i am already being rescued!'
So i wait and he doesnt move. I waited about 15 mins nothing. So i give another antidote to a different thrall. Guard pops, kill guard without thrall being mezzed and thrall just moves on.
So could this be some kind of bug where if the thrall becomes mezzed, it just screws up the rest of his return to camp?

In addition, when the guard pops, more often than not he brings a few adds with him.
It's also possible, to have a chain of thralls go back with you. You don't have to follow 1 thrall back to the scout then come back, do another and repeat. Give anitdote to 1 thrall, deal with guard and adds, give antidote to another, deal with guards, and so on. Then before the first thrall gets back to scout, make your way over and just wait for them to come by 1 by 1.
