Arch Druid Springthorn may be found at +1970, -260.

You say, 'Hail, Arch Druid Springthorn'

'Drakkin.' Springthorn gasps. 'I've been trampled. . . My wounds are mortal.' **cough** **cough** 'Please. Carry on my [quest]. It will be my last in this world.'

You say, 'What quest?'

Arch Druid Springthorn says 'The Moorwalkers have awoken. They must be brought to rest before peace will return to these moors.'

A task window appears with the task "Return of the Moorwalkers."

You have been assigned the task 'Return of the Moorwalkers'.

You are given The Moorwalker Runestaff, a weapon with the clicky effect Century's Sleep which says: "Calms the rampaging Moorwalkers in the Blightfire Moors, sending them back into hibernation."

Arch Druid Springthorn says, 'The Moorwalkers are ancient beasts that rule these moors. They are aggressive and destructive creatures, but they spend most of their near-endless lives hibernating deep under the bog.'

'Something is wrong though. They have awoken several decades early from their hibernation cycle. I believe the Goru`kar griffons are to blame. With the northern satyr wars in full swing, the griffons have encroached further and further southward toward the unspoiled hunting grounds of these moors. The griffons now dwell in the northern cliffs near the egg-laiden nest of the Moorwalkers. This has made the Moorwalkers angry. This is why they have awoken. This is why they now rampage through the moors!'

Please. It's too late for me...My wounds are fatal. Take this runestaff and use it to calm the Moorwalkers. Send them back into hibernation. Let peace return to these moors...'

1. Use the Moorwalker Staff to put the Northern Moorwalker to Sleep 0/1 - Blightfire Moors

The Northern Moorwalker can be found around +2080, -330, just north of Arch Druid Springthorn.

All of the Moorwalkers are level 35, hit for 244 max, and rampage. Attempts to use the staff while the Moorwalker is above 50% health will give the emote "The Moorwalker is too strong! It must first be weakened before the Moorwalker Staff will lull it into hibernation." Fight the Moorwalker until it is below 50% health and use the staff. You will get the emote "The Moorwalker lumbers to the ground and falls back into its hibernation cycle." The Moorwalker will then change into "Slumbering Moorwalker" who then becomes unattackable. The task will then update. Within a few minutes the "Slumbering Moorwalker" will despawn and respawn as the previously fought Moorwalker. Do this to all 4 of the listed Moorwalkers.

2. Use the Moorwalker Staff to put the Southern Moorwalker to Sleep 0/1 - Blightfire Moors

The Southern Moorwalker can be found around -330, -1090, near the entrance to the bixie area.

3. Use the Moorwalker Staff to put the Eastern Moorwalker to Sleep 0/1 - Blightfire Moors

The Eastern Moorwalker can be found around +150, -2710, southeast of the ghost wolf forest.

4. Use the Moorwalker Staff to put the Western Moorwalker to Sleep 0/1 - Blightfire Moors

The Western Moorwalker can be found around +1940, +980, not too far west of the Northern Moorwalker.

5. Return the Moorwalker Runestaff to Moonreader Ewera in the Master's Hall 0/1 - Crescent Reach

Head to Crescent Reach and find Moonreader Ewera at -415, -1160 in the guildmaster's area and hand in the runestaff:

Moonreader Ewera says, 'The Moorwalker Runestaff? I heard of Arch Druid Springthorn's death whispered on the wind, but I did not know that someone else carried on his final quest. Bless you, my friend! And please, take this as a token of my thanks. Springthorn would have wanted you to have it. May it protect you always.'

You gain experience!!
You have successfully been granted your reward for: Return of the Moorwalkers

You receive a Belt of Briarthorn.

"The Southern Moorwalker can be found around -330, -1090, near the PoK book."

This should read something similar to, "[...] can be found around -330, -1090, near the entrance to the bixie area." The old PoK book no longer stands there and is closer to Crescent Reach.

Each Moorwalker is on a ledge in each zone (north south etc) I'm a 45 Necro and I soloed all except the Eastern. To get them to sleep you musthave them at 25 or less health then right click staff. For the Eastern Moorwalker I summoned my pet....gave it a rusty dagger....hit it with Form of Bleached bone then went right after it. It summoned me but kept hitting it with Drain Spirit and my pet was behind it as it aggroed to me. Keep an eye on the health and once it gets to 25 right click the staff. Be sure to keep an eye on the health and keep hitting the Drain Spirit.

Granted the awesome power I was feeling killing yellows in Blightfire with my 32 mage and his super air pet was a little humbled with a death on the first try,but I had an empty belt slot and that belt did not look all that shabby. So being the pragmatic person that I am I simply went out again ..grouped with my 70 warrior. Was cake,I just had to be careful to turn off warrior's attack at 20% and hope there was not too many riposte till wand finished casting. Nice belt compared to empty slot..took all of 8 minutes going around perimeter of zone.
I hate this mob

Yeah.... I hate this mob... have a group or at least a duo if you are doing this at 35. I had to port out on my 41 cleric, and my 51 wizzy trying to kill him. Finally got mad and logged my 66 monk in and slaughtered the jerk... Lol... Good luck
Level 30?
# Jan 20 2008 at 9:23 PM Rating: Decent
If this is a level 30 quest why the heck are the mobs level 35 and hitting so hard and fast and summoning? I am a level 39 Mage and it is kicking my butt with pet attacking first.

You have to fight a mob that hits for 255, and your reward is a piece of crap belt. Why does this not surprise me from SOE?

Conned even to me at 35 and i found out the hard way about the summoning and rampaging, IIRC his last hit was for 235. Definitely think the summoning is out of place on a lvl 35 mob.
