This raid expedition begins with Ruwakka in the Wayfarer camp of South Ro.

You say, 'Hail, Ruwakka'

Ruwakka says 'Me helping de adventurers of de Wayfarers Brotherhood. Me in charge of recruiting brave fighters for de strange stuff going on in de land of de froggies. If you rally de call of your friends we needs help wit dis serious [problem].'

You say, 'What problem?'

Ruwakka says 'We learned from de scouts that de First Witness of de Cauldron of Hate found a way to harness de foul curse in Deepest Guk. De First Witness is de strongest of them all. He amassing a group of followers large enough to make him deity! We needs you to stop de First Witness 'fore he unleash fury on us all. Are you [interested]?'

You say, 'I am interested.'

Ruwakka smashes his left fist into his right palm, for effect. 'Crush de First Witness and all of dem followers!'

Deepest Guk: The Curse Reborn is now available to you.

The entrance to the instance is located in Innothule Swamp at the tree like other LDoNs. Note, this expedition takes a long time to load, at least 5 minutes. If you click too soon, you get sent to the Succor location.

In summary:

Part of the raid follows Scout Mainil through to the northwest room (the prison) while the other part of the raid stays with Scout Granos and protects him from spawning mobs.

Once Mainil is in the jail, raid members can kill the risen acolytes that spawn alongside the Executioner. If you do not kill the risen acolytes before they get executed, they turn into wisps which in turn spawn as adds in the final encounter.

Also at this time, Granos begins his own trek through the zone. He'll head to the northeast room (the cauldron room). Once he reaches it, kill the three "_____ Focus" mobs (one in front of the cauldron; two in either attached room) and then The First Witness. Chests spawn with loot after The First Witness's death.

In detail:

Two froglok scouts stand at the zone-in:

You say, 'Hail, Scout Granos'

Scout Granos says 'Greetings, it is good that you came to assist us. We cannot allow the First Witness of Hate to complete his spell. Half of you are going to have to go ahead with my companion, while the other half are going to need to wait here with me. We suspect that the First Witness will attempt to send a force here as a diversion. We will be able to catch up with them soon'

You say, 'Hail, Scout Mainil'

Scout Mainil says 'Greetings friend, thank you for making such haste to get here. The situation is worse than we feared. Not only is the First Witness attempting to complete his spell, he has minions that he is sending to the outside. He is hoping that by assaulting Gukta he will distract us. My friend here will help you guard the exit, please ensure that nothing happens to him. I'll be talking half of you with me, so we can assess the situation. As soon as I have a better idea of what is going on, I will pass on more instructions to you. When you are [ready] please let me know, and we shall be off.'

You say, 'We are ready.'

Scout Mainil says 'Ok, half of you please accompany me while we scout ahead. Granos, I will let you know when I know more.'

Part of your raid needs to follow and protect Scout Mainil as he walks through the zone to the northwest room (the Foreboding Prison). The other part of the raid should stay with Scout Granos. Mobs will spawn in waves of two and attack him.

Note: Don't attack the Scouts.

Scout Mainil says '_____ this is not productive to our goal. I will not stand here and be attacked by those who came to assist me! If this does not stop, I will be forced to vacate. Regardless of the consequences.'

Shortly into the trek...

Scout Mainil says 'It sounds as though the assault has begun. I hope that Granos and your companions can hold the entrance.' He then studies the ground, 'It appears as though we are on the right track. We are making excellent time so far.'

A short time later...

Scout Mainil says, 'Hmm, this is very unusual. There seems to be a second path leading off to the North. It appears as though someone may be assisting the first witness. I will need to follow this second set of prints to investigate further.' He then scratches a note into the boulder before him with instructions for his partner.

The scout appears to no longer need your protection.

Upon entering the jail area...

Scout Mainil says 'This is worse than I feared. The Executioner is feeding those souls to the Cauldron to assist the First Witness. I fear that your friends may have more to deal with than just those that are assisting with his spell. It appears the Executioner is protected by the same magic that guards the First Witness of Hate. All we will be able to do is stem the flow of Souls from this place, aside from that, your friends will be on their own.'

In that room, the executioner summons a "frog risen":

Executioner Gimdk focuses his attention on a new Risen, 'The Cauldron shall feast on your essence!'

If you manage to kill the frog risen before he's absorbed, the event will continue. If you fail:

The Risen before the Executioner explodes, leaving a small bit of dancing energy where it once stood.

...And an unattackable wisp appears and heads to the northeast room, respawning as an add.

Part of the raid can remain and keep killing the risen acolytes as they spawn while the rest of the raid follows the now-mobile Scout Granos (if acolytes are left alive for the Executioner to kill, wisps continue to spawn from their deaths).

The Executioner becomes attackable once the three foci are killed over by the cauldron (more on the foci mobs to follow).

Scout Granos begins walking through the zone. His destination is the far northeast room. Once there...

Scout Granos says 'There are the foci. They must be destroyed before he completes his spell, or his power will increase tenfold.'

You'll see a giant cauldron, above which is The First Witness. You'll also see numerous adds in the room and an evil eye called "Energy Focus". This evil eye, along with the Matter Focus and Spirit Focus in the attached rooms must be killed (failing to do so will cause the final boss's strength to power up significantly).

Adds spawn throughout the event. None of the named mobs have any special melee abilities. There is no rampaging, flurrying, or enraging. The evil eyes hit for a max ~1,400 while The First Witness hits for a max ~1,650.

Energy Focus casts two spells:

Blurring Focus: NPC Hatelist 400', Chromatic (-150)
1: Decrease Spell Haste by 50%
2: Decrease ATK by 200
3: Cancel Magic(9)
4: Cancel Magic(9)
5: Limit: Combat Skills Not Allowed

Life Vortex: NPC Hatelist 400', Disease (-250)
1: Increase Disease Counter by 38
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 600 per tick

Matter Focus casts two spells:

Everlasting Essence: Self 0', Unresistable (0)
1: Increase Chance to Reflect Spell by 60%

Swirling Matter: NPC Hatelist 400', Prismatic (-200)
1: Stun(8.00 sec)

Spirit Focus casts one spell:

Infinite Mass: NPC Hatelist 400', Prismatic (-200)
1: Increase Curse Counter by 24
2: Decrease Movement by 65%
3: Decrease Mana by 200 per tick

Energy Focus has been slain by _____!
Your faction standing with Servants of the First Witness got worse.
You gained raid experience!

Matter Focus has been slain by _____!
Your faction standing with Servants of the First Witness got worse.
You gained raid experience!

Spirit Focus has been slain by _____!
Your faction standing with Servants of the First Witness got worse.
You gained raid experience!

As the last Focus blinks lifelessly, the room trembles. The First Witness screams as his shield of protection fails, 'Infidels! I was so close! You shall die!'

Your victory has weakened a shroud of magic cloaking the dungeon's treasure.

Once the three evil eyes are dead, kill The First Witness (a straight melee encounter).

The First Witness has been slain by _____!
Your faction standing with Servants of the First Witness got worse.
You gained raid experience!

Your victory has shattered the shroud of magic surrounding the dungeon's treasure

The First Witness screams silently as his magic fails. You feel a wave of hate wash over you, as a voice whispers in your head, 'There will always be a First. You have not won.'

Three chests spawn around the area with loot.

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere else, but you can buff the two scouts, making your job significantly easier. I was able to solo this by just slapping on a bunch of shaman buffs to keep the guy at the zone-in from dying while I cleared the rest of the zone.

Is there a trick to get gimdk's chest to spawn? I was able to 3 box this raid however gimdk's chest (the one I really wanted) did not spawn. All I can think of is that maybe I need to kill gimdk before the final boss..

Executioner Gimdk (jail area) becomes active after killing the 3 Foci (cauldron area). I killed the 3 Foci, then Executioner Gimdk, then The First Witness, and all 3 chests popped in the cauldron area -- 2 on the ledge and 1 on the ground. I don't know if it matters what order you kill Executioner Gimdk and The First Witness.

Those that remain with Scout Granos get attacked perodically by 2 mobs that spawn in the little alcove at the zone in. Once Scout Mainil finishs leading people to the Executioner's room, Scout Granos will start making his way to the First Witness room. You will need to reclear with him.

Once you make it to the First Witness room, you need to kill 3 Foci in order. The Foci prevent you from attacking the subsequent while they are alive. The foci, in order, are:
Energy Focus - casts Life Vortex and Blurring Focus
Matter Focus - casts Swirling Matter and Everlasting Essence
Spirit Focus - casts Infinite Mass

One is located near the First Witness, as you enter the room. The other two are in their own room behind the First Witness. Take the ramps that run up either side of the room. The foci have approx 350k hitpoints and hit for under 1400.

Once they are down, the First Witness is no longer immune and is pretty much a straight DPS fight. Has approx 400k hitpoints ( maybe less ) and hits for under 1650. Also, when the foci die, the Executioner can be killed. Doing so stops the Risen from spawning and turning into wisps if not killed in time.
It is possible to largely ignore the Executioner. The wisps head to the Cauldron where they become a mob in that room.

raid infos
# Mar 16 2007 at 3:09 AM Rating: Decent
any infos on that raid?

only info i found is that:
Quote:
The object of the adventure was to stop this frog fella from becoming a god more or less. There were 2 Froggy Scouts at the zone in. You divide the raid into 2 parts, 3 groups in each. When you start the event, one Scout asks for you to follow him to the execution chamber and starts walking. Three groups follow and protect him from the mobs in the way

Eventually the first frog reaches the exeuction chamber. Once the first scout makes it to this point the Scout at the zone starts walking. The 3 remaining groups follow him to a chamber with a Cauldron in it. The same deal applies, kill adds, protect frog.

The object is to get both groups of raiders to their respective rooms, in which they have to do things within a certain amount of time to get the easy version of the boss.
