Captain Orenu Urulump may be found at 2835.49, -537.97, 377.41.

This quest follows the "Gygun's Last Request" task. At the end of that task:

Captain Orenu Urulump gasps, 'Where... Where did you get this? Gygun gave this to you? Why would he give... Oh no, no.. Please no. He's dead?? This is very tragic, tragic indeed. What terrible news... I... I don't even know if I can read the rest of his letter. It looks as if he divulged the locations of his personal belongings within this letter. I'm sure you must have figured it out by now, but if you haven't.. Yes, Gygun was my [brother].'

You say, 'Hail, Captain Orenu Urulump'

Captain Orenu Urulump says 'The foolhardy old gun, why did he have to go and die! I am off to recover an old locket passed down through the generations of our family. The second page of this letter mentions something about some artifacts of his that he hid beyond the flooded wing. That's odd, in all my years I do not recollect any such flooded wing he may be referring to. I wish his notes left us more [valuable information].'

You say, 'Valuable information?'

Captain Orenu Urulump says 'Gygun spent his entire life chasing after artifacts buried in muck for ages. I wouldn't be surprised if he left more clues behind as to their whereabouts.'

You have been assigned the task 'Gygun's Treasure'.

Head to the Vergalid Mines and take a right at the bottom of the elevator to the area full of plants. Gygun's lost treasure is found in a heavy wooden chest, at -224, -1063, -340. It's easy to see and nothing sees invis on the way. One person /open and loot chest, and the whole group that have this quest as well will get the reward at the final turn in.

Go to Captain Orenu Urulump in Direwind to hand in the treasure and receive Orb of Mystic Fury.

Your task 'Gygun's Treasure' has been updated.

You have successfully completed the quest: Gygun's Treasure.
You gain experience!!
You have successfully been granted your reward for: Gygun's Treasure

3 box doing this quest
1. /open works too, but it will break invis, while /inspect will not
2. Anyone with the quest /open or /inspect [a heavy wooden chest], everyone in the group that have this quest will get [Gygun's Treasure Chest]
3. For toons that dont have this quest /open or /inspect [a heavy wooden chest], the chest will just disappear and get nothing.

If you do this as a group, everyone in the group with the task will get their own Treasure Chest to turn in when anyone in the group /inspects the Heavy Wooden Chest.

You have to /inspect the chest to get it. /open /loot do not work. Also, /inspect doesnt break invis and the quest piece pops onto your cursor.

Chest worked. You will become visible when opening it, though...
Chest bug (not fixed?)
# Oct 07 2008 at 12:04 AM Rating: Decent
The chest is still poofing when trying any of the following:-

1) Inspecting.
2) or trying to Open.
3) Poofs without allowing you to loot.

Under The task in Quest window, it has the first objectve as to 'Locate' Gygun's lost treasure, normally this has to be done first, so what is the location for trigerring the location before you can then loot?

also, on the Map the location of the chest is marked in a different part of the zone to the swamp with the underwater mobs, is this a fault with the map.

cheers, wouldnt mind completing this quest its becoming a pain!

Looks like the chest is fixed. I have been checking after each patch for the past two months and it finally gave me the treasure on my cursor today.

This is odd. I tried last night (October 4, 2008) and was unable to get the quest bit using the inspect or open and loot method.

Also I can /inspect the chest while I'm invis, the chest poofs but I'm left with no item and no quest update.

Bugged for me as well. I tried inspect (which poofed the box) and waited ~5 mins for respawn then tried open and looting it (poofed as well with nothing inside).
Bugged?

I cannot get the Chest to give me Gygun's treasure while FDed or sneaking. When I inspect or open the chest it just poofs. Luckily repop on the chest is not too long but I hope that they didn't nerf it so that there can't be any mobs around or something. Has anyone been unable to loot while sneaking or FDed? It might be that I made the mistake of /open ing the chest while I was invis the first time and never got the item.

There is a much easier way to get past the guardians:
Snare them, run around in a big circle so you can pass by them out of melee range, invis up fast and run into the camp. Run up the stairs to ashengate. before you reach the zoneline, the guardians will leash back to their spot.
Leaving the black legion camp, same deal. just watch out for the 1 black legion wanderer who moves to a spot just inside the gate.
I did this task solo with a level 65 ranger (with snare and invis aa's) in about 20-30 minutes.

I'm a lvl67 Ranger and I soloed this Quest yesterday afternoon and I only died once, due to me doing something foolish..I didn't recast camo after I talked to Captain Orenu Urulump and stepped out of the tent where he is located at...But the point is I completed both quests and it took maybe a total of 4 hours of off and on playing. To get by the Gaurdains at the main entrance I used my camo and Sneak and stayed against the wall. I went behind them with no problem at all. Once you are past the Gaurdains stay invisable until you are inside the tent where Captain Orenu Urulump is. Although you can use the invis and sneak method to get back out, (I did), it would be better if you can afford a few Gate potions, it would be safer..Happy Hunting, have fun and stay safe.

If you can get past the guards to the Captain once and found it difficult, you can bind yourself there to make the next time much easier (if you're a binding class). Then just succor out (or use a potion) to finish the quest up before gating back to captain.

Success on dangerous ground

Successfully duoed both these quests tonight with 71 ranger and 70 'chanter.

Only hang-up was getting past the gate guardians, who saw through his invisibility and my Innate Camo. As chanters have no sneaking abilities, we opted to kite the guardians.

The guardians are easy to kite, with the off-man running through the gate while the kiter runs a big circle trailing guardians (east.. not to the west) and then through the gate and out to Ashengate to break agro. Having IC tied to the forward movement key and SoE made this very easy.

Scary places, they were, but the reward was worth the trouble.

Hide and Sneak
# Dec 25 2006 at 11:54 AM Rating: Decent
I just did it shrouded as a lvl 70 rogue. Did the old hide and sneak, but i didnt go in front of the guardians, i made sure i went behind them. Had no probs. the whole quest is easy if you dont mind running around in hid and sneak mode for about an hour.
Another note, if you inspect the chest, you loot it without becoming visible.

There is a short cut in Direwind to get to Captain.

Near were the bears are, there is a hill that has 3 tablets on it ( Ashengate zone i think? )
Once you are up there, you can't get over to the otherside, theres like an invisible wall.
Back upto the tree near the hut ( highest point ) and with lev on, run towards the tablets and turn left.....don't turn until you are right at the tablets.....or just before them.
If you do it right, u get over and zone into where the Captain is.
Go across lava bridge and he's in right hand hut.
Might take quiet a few go's before you get over invis wall.

After dying three times trying to get by the guards I read this post. Works like a charm! A secret back door. I love it!

Ive tried this over and over to no avail......

Whats the secret? When I back up towards the tent and by the tree, I run towards the tablets but keep getting pushed to the left, I make a hard left turn at the tablets but just float into the Direwind Current thingy.

Help if you can, very curious

This "backdoor" still works. While facing the tablets, I backed up to the right-hand side of the tent, up against the tree, and walked down towards the tablets. As I got there, I turned left, and as I crab-walked to the left, it seemed as if I had climbed up a step and went over an invisible wall. Once you're over it, you need to work your way back toward the tablets. As you near them, you'll teleport down to the lava bridge. Capt Urulump is in the first hut across the bridge.

As an aside, you don't need to be levitating ... I mistakenly left it off, and was able to "zone-in" anyways.

can't sneak

I tried sneaking past the guards tonight, once with a halfling druid's innate sneak, and again with a shrouded 70 rogue's hide+sneak. Both had invis. Neither time did it work..

Did they change it recently?

Sneak-hide works to get past the guards.

Once at Captain, however, he will not give me the quest. Going through the dialogue:

You say, 'Hail, Captain Orenu Urulump'

Captain Orenu Urulump says 'The foolhardy old gun, why did he have to go and die! I am off to recover an old locket passed down through the generations of our family. The second page of this letter mentions something about some artifacts of his that he hid beyond the flooded wing. That's odd, in all my years I do not recollect any such flooded wing he may be referring to. I wish his notes left us more [valuable information].'

You say, 'valuable information'

Captain Orenu Urulump says 'What can I do you for? You must be new to these parts Prestoh. I suggest you venture back the way you came.'

You have to give the Cpt. the note from Gygun to complete Gygun's Last Request before the Cpt. will give you this quest.
