Find Gunlok Jure (Paladin Guildmaster) in the Paladin guild hall in North Kaladim. He's on Find (Ctrl+F). You will need Amiable faction with Clerics of Underfoot to obtain this quest.

After completing his Bone Chips quest:

Gunlok Jure says 'You have done well. We thank you for your deed with this humble reward. The power behind the raising of our dead shall soon be found. You will earn more respect with more bone chips. I only wish you could assist in the return of the [remains of Cromil].'

You say, 'What remains of Cromil?'

Gunlok Jure says 'My brother Cromil ventured to the Plains of Karana on the continent of Antonica. He never returned. Rumor has it that his undead skeleton is now part of an undead army in the plains. To end this curse, I ask all good paladins of this temple to return his bones to me. Nothing less than a spell is my reward for such a deed.'

Head to South Karana. There's an undead camp just south of the bridge to North Karana. There you'll find a dwarf skeleton at /loc +1397, +1081, +41.53. Kill it until "a putrid skeleton" spawns in its place. Respawn timer is 5 minutes. That specific putrid skeleton (there are others in the camp) drops the Dwarf Bones for the quest.

a putrid skeleton says 'Cromil shall cut you in two.'

Just did the turn-in tonight on Oakwynd TLP (Classic era) and received Spell: Cure Disease. Can be added to the list of possible rewards. If that's even worth it, lol.

It's a far run on a progression server to get from Kaladim to where the putrid skeleton is just for 5 gold and a Hammer of Wrath spell, that you can buy for a few silver. If you have to pay for a port, you're losing money. I don't know about the rest of you, but even if I were to run there to do this quest, my time getting there and back would be worth a lot more to me than what the quest pays. I can make a lot more just killing skels in the newbie yard outside Kaladim and selling their rusty weapons to merchants.

A dwarf skeleton does not drop the bones
# Mar 24 2006 at 12:49 AM Rating: Good
Just got Cromil's remains and a dwarf skeleton does not drop them. The dwarf skeleton is the place holder for a putrid skeleton(note that this putrid skeleton is dwarf sized)which drops the dwarf bones.

quest results (70 minutes)

Either I was lucky, or the Cromil skeleton spawns more frequently than suggested in other posts.

Took me about 25 minutes to get to the site of Cromil's remains in S Karana from Kaladim (via Nexus).

Spent about 20 minutes at the site before I got the Cromil skeleton to spawn. I killed the placeholder "dwarven skeleton" 3 times before the real Cromil "putrid skeleton" spawned.

The first time he spawned, he dropped "dwarven bones".

Then 25 minutes back to Kaladim to turn them in.

70 minutes total.

I plan on doing this quest just for the honor.I am at home in Kaladim, that is where I first started and thats where I will always consider to be home.I always do the bonechip quest to get through lv 4-5 cause BB isent that good for those lvs and I have always wondered about that follow up quest Cromils remains, now that I am lv 25 and the true class (need I say which one)I would like to finish this

I killed the dwarven skeleton at the undead camp in SK this past week and got the dwarven bones. The dwarf skeleton is a rare spawn. I have killed it perhaps 6 times, and only gotten dwarven bones once.

I think this quest is broken, I've been killing these things for at least 5 hours now and no dwarven bones or whatever you call them. I've killed the dwarven skelly many times and the putrid that spawns in his spot several as well.

Odd when low level quest is harder the the rogue epic!

No those are different. I can't find a post regarding the quest they are for. What you need are dwarf bones, or dwarven bones, however they are listed. The placeholder for the putrid skeleton that you need is called a dwarf skeleton. oddly, the dwarf skeleton does not drop the dwarf bones. However, there is a putrid skeleton that sometimes spawns in the same spot. It is shorter that the other putrids (dwarf sized), and drops the dwarf bones, lore, no drop.

Hope this helps

what are named putrid skele lore bones for?
# Sep 12 2001 at 7:51 PM Rating: Default
Does anyone know if there is a functioning quest associated with the six LORE bones off of the named putrid skeletons in this camp? I have all six, but can't find a reference for what they are for anywhere, any help would be appreciated.

The Dwarf Bones now drop off of dorf size Putrid Skells. They are a common drop as are non-stackable Lore,No-Drop Bone Chips off of other Putrid Skells.

Ok, completed the quest... This involves a long trek between Kaladim and SK. Get someone to port you or don't bother.

I completed the quest at level 14 and received very little exp, a level 9 spell (root) and 4gp. There is no trailer to this quest ... it just ends. Therefore, I do not recommend this for anything other than faction.

What Faction hits do you get?

No drop Bone Chips
# Apr 27 2001 at 10:45 AM Rating: Default
I have killed a few Putrid Skels and recieved some No Drop Bone Chips. Are these just to take up space like burntout lightstones or are these used for something so I don't wast the trip only for the remains?
Cromil's Remains
# Oct 29 2000 at 9:01 PM Rating: Excellent
This quest is hard to do for lower levels because of the travel time unless you have a druid with you. It is good for faction for the higher levels however. Here's how it works...

Go to the skeleton camp in South Karana near the North Karana bridge. Each putrid skelly says it's name when you attack it. Look for the one that says his name is Barger (Or something to that effect. He's along the outer edge of the camp) To the right from Barger on the other side of the hut he stands next to (The hut is a fallen over one) is where Cromil spawns. Most of the time, nothing is there, but soon a "dwarf skeleton" will spawn. The only one in the camp. This is Cromil's PLACEHOLDER. You can either kill this skelly or let it despawn and it will come back in 10-20 minutes. When a putrid skeleton that looks just like the dwarf skelly (It's a short putrid) spawns, that is Cromil. He will say his name when attacked and be holding a short sword. The remains you want are labeled "Dwarf Bones". Take them back to Gunlok Jure in Kaladim.
