Hranath Velentok can be found inside a tent at Loc -1610, 750 on the South-East side of the Crusade camp in Sunderock Springs.

You say, 'Hail, Hranath Velentok'

Hranath Velentok says 'Gah! I can barely think as it is and now you come bothering me? If it weren't for the [influence] of the mines there would be little trouble out here. It's been months since I was able to think clearly.'

You say, 'What influence?'

Hranath Velentok says 'What influence you ask? I can't be too certain, what the exact cause of the problem is. I suspect there is an as yet undiscovered [giant artifacts] left in the mines. Quite a few artifacts have been found that were buried when sections of the mine collapsed. It would have to be well hidden or deeply buried though. The giants were banished from the mines long ago when Vergalid attacked, and efforts to search through the rubble have continued from that time.'

You say, 'What giant artifacts?'

Hranath Velentok says 'I know little of what artifacts have been found so far. The forces there have finished their search of the entry halls and have resumed mining operations according to the latest reports. There is said to be additional ruins currently under excavation deeper in though. I've heard they are just past the crypts of the giants. If you are interested in helping to destroy this artifact you would do well to start your search there.'

You have been assigned the task 'Unearthed Power'.

Hranath Velentok kept clamoring on and on about a strange force allegedly emanating from within the depth of the Vergalid Mines that has been causing confusion amongst the Drakkin. Old giant artifacts were rumored to have been buried when Vergalid overtook the mines. To not have been found by now, it would have to be fairly well hidden, as the giant forces were vanquished from the mines long ago. If you locate the source of the disturbance, destroy it.

Find and destroy the source of the mysterious power 0/1 (Vergalid Mines)

In order to get to the orb, you will need Flawless Indicolite Shard from the Inner Vergalid access quest. Which isn't really a key, it enables the port through the statue in the Shrine of Zek. Everyone in your party needs a key to get past the statue.

Once past the port, just follow the corridor around to the south. Make an immediate right, you will see some stairs up.

As you go upstairs, a Drakkin lorekeeper and a Drakkin soldier will spawn and aggro. The unearthed orb aso spawns on the floor, next to the pillar.

NOTE: If having a problem targeting the orb: You can use "cycle nearest target", but you will get an unnamed target with 100% health which is unattackable.

In order to target the Power Source and be able to damage it to complete the quest, one has to mouse-click target the orb so the name "unearthed orb" appears in the target window. Only at that point is it able to be damaged. (You may be able to use "/target unearthed" in order to target it as well?) (Info from "Lighteningrod" on the EQ Forums)

Well hidden though it was the artifact proved fragile enough. With it destroyed, the drakkin will notice a large difference in their day to day work. Hranath will undoubtedly be very appreciative of your success.

In order to get to the orb you have to finish this key quest:

Which isn't really a key, it enables the port through the statue in the Shrine of Zek. Everyone in your party needs a key to get past the statue.

Once past the port, just follow the corridor around to the south. Make an immediate right, you will see some stairs up and the orb is on the floor. Should be marked "Safe Spot on Pillar" on your maps. No? Download Brewall maps :) To be safe I had everyone target and melee punch it until I saw damage from everyone, then finished with a nuke. Everyone got the update. Thanks all for the help.

First, you will need to get the inner area key.

At the bottom of the initial tunnel in the inner area, turn right. Heading up a stairs and past a fallen pillar. Note: soon as you crest the top of the stairs, the orb and 2 mobs spawn. So clear if you need to.

Once spawned, target the orb by mouse clicking it. Then beat it up. Killing the 2 adds will cause a new ones to spawn so just cc them in anyway you can.

I would like to add that EVERY group member must target click the orb , do NOT use assist to target the orb , you will not get the task update if you do. I figured this out after 3 failed attempts lol.

I had a lot of trouble finding it! You have to go through the north route, and through the keyed area. Then continue to location 565, -1770, -530. You are looking for 'unearthed orb'. It's classed as an object and doesn't appear on track. It looks like a slightly glowing round ore, rather than the 'green ball' I was expecting. I attacked and killed it with melee and didn't attract any neighboring agro.

This effect pacifies ONLY drakkin's. And ONLY bellow 70... So really. Not that great an item.

The only thing you have to do is kill the orb and return to Hranath Velentok. Killing the orb causes people to go linkdead.

When you enter - the lower ruins (need key)
You stay invisi and its to your RIGHT not left... as you come down path.

Have levitate on b4 entering.
Watch out for the SI undead and play dodge-em

I saw no cleric or warrior spawn. The round greenish ball gave a message when i stepped over it. and mobs near me suddenly saw me as my invisi was stripped.

I had the rest of my team standing on the fallen colum (levitate is a must) on our second attempt. I ran in and re-uncovered it. It goes away if you leave it alone. I targeted it - they assisted... and sent in pets. I died but got
credit.

However I crashed because i got update while floating over body... BUG ?

Was not able to solo this as it didnt spawn until i stood on it in that little cubby room to the right of hte down passage as you enter the ruins.

Maybe there is another one that spawns somewhere else i didnt find?

Well in the inner ruins along the left wall there is a fallen column and some other ruins when u approach a powersource emerges from the ground 2 drakin also spawn near it. One is a cleric other is a warrior both lv 74. I backed up along the wall and stayed invised and let my pet beat it down, took awhile but no deaths and I got my flute. One downside to this particular technique was that when quest is done again there will be 2 more spawns on top of the two u left...
