There are six islands in Blackfeather Roost, each with its own requirements for access (you can port from island to island after completing a short task for each):

- The Base (entered from Goru'kar Mesa)
- The First Ledge (see this task)
- The Harpy Grove (see this task)
- The Harpy Cliffs (see this task)
- The Harpy Mesa (see this task)
- The Royal Throne (complete this task)

Ashrana is in Blackfeather Roost on the last isle before entering the Queen chambers.

You say, 'Hail, Ashrana'

Ashrana says 'My sister, Mestle, told me you had agreed to accept our challenge. I'm sure she bored you with threats and doom, but please allow me to tempt you instead. Great riches and treasure can be had at the end of this road if you walk it with me. Are you [interested]?'

You say, 'I am interested'

Ashrana says 'Excellent ___. The situation is very simple as you'll soon see I'm sure. The fact is that I should be Queen, not my sad and weak sister Eletyl. I aim to [replace] her and assume my rightful role as leader of this Roost. Will you [help] me?'

You say, 'Replace her?'

Ashrana says 'It is far past time for the old to give way to the new and high time I take my rightful place in this roost. Will you [help] me accomplish this and reap the rewards?'

You say, 'I will help you'

Ashrana says 'Your role in this little Drama is quite simple - [Kill] my sister Eletyl, ransack her home and return to me. I will then assume my rightful role and place.'

You say, 'I will kill her'

Ashrana says 'There is one snag to our fine plan - getting to my dear older sister the Queen. You have learned to tame the Griffons of this Roost and move from place to place but a morsel of food will not be enough to accomplish this task. The Queen's abode can only be reached via specially trained Griffons. To ride these Griffons you need the [Royal Crest].'

You say, 'Royal crest?'

Ashrana says 'Captain Slarus leads the Queen's personal guard. Her loyalty to the Queen is unquestioned and so, of course, Slarus must die. But more than that Slarus and her top lieutenants alone have the magical Crest needed to command the Royal Griffons. Kill Slarus and retrieve a Crest for you and your companions. Return to me when you have done so.'

You have been assigned the task 'Blackfeather Roost - Reach the royal throne'.

Captain Slarus leads the Queen's personal guard. Her loyalty to the Queen is unquestioned and so, of course, Slarus must die. But more than Slarus and her top lieutenants alone have the magical Crest needed to command the Royal Griffons. Kill Slarus and retrieve a Crest for you and your companions. Return to me when you have done so.

Kill the Captain of the Guard, Captain Slarus 0/1 (Blackfeather Roost)

Captain Slarus can hit for up to 1,700. He has four guards next to him while a fifth guard patrols the area. The trash mobs and guards have a quick respawn time, so you may need to deal with anywhere from 3 to 8 mobs at once to get this kill.

Kill the Royal Guards 0/5 (Blackfeather Roost)

The guards are clustered around Captain Slarus, close to the nest leading to the Queen's Palace. Neither guards nor the Captain see invis. All drop a Royal Crest. Captain Slarus will drop an item of loot of her own.

Return One Royal Crest to Ashrana 0/1 (Blackfeather Roost)

Ashrana says 'Aha! Well done ___! Now we can finally [accomplish] our goal!'

This leads you in to the task 'Kill the Queen of the Harpies!'.

You are now able to use the griffon nest on the Mesa to reach the Queen's palace which leads to the last task in this series Kill the Queen of the Harpies!.

I was able to get he task from Fenrith, and then Coralyn so it appears any of them will give you this task as it is the only one left in the series.

In the very first area over by the graveyard are two quest givers. One of those quests is to Kill Gyatri. I think she is on the 4th or 5th ledge/island. The reward is a shawl with a clickable effect: Harpy Mesmerization. If at least 3 people in the group do the quest then thats 3 of the guards you can take out of the fight easily.
Hm...

Well Shelak, shame on you - I just saw a group, Level 55-58 easily finishing that quest.
If you can't complete it on your level - there's something else wrong, for sure not the quest...

Level 85 Enchanter boxing with 68 mage, with separately played 67 shaman (with two healer and tank merc) tried this and we gave up after dying twice. All of the mobs are immune to lull, mez, charm, *and* the captain summons! I have not idea how they expected groups to do this without mini-raid or good snare (which we did not have). They are rootable.

Very poorly designed quest. Expect you to tank 5+ mobs without Any form of CC or pulling strategy, for what should have been lvl 64'ish quest. If we tried again, we probably could have pulled it off with some insane rooting and dragging the captain good distance away.

Or something,

All you need is a real tank. The Captain was fairly easy with a well-geared level 65 warrior, a poor level 62 warrior, and their two cleric mercs. We simply cleared the extra mobs nearby and then pulled the captain along with those guards who elected to come. I think the 65 warrior could have done it with just his merc. (We ran out of healing when trying to kill the Queen to finish the quest arc, though.)

72 Nec with healers merc and pet cannot seem to handle this group. Healer cannot keep up with damage on pet so pet dies too soon.

We got up to the queen tonight, and we took her down. There was an 85 mag and BL, and my 73 druid and 63 cleric (who both pretty much watched). They were tough, no doubt. We wouldn't have made a dent without the two 85's and their mercs. My 73 druid tank took a lot of the action, and the 85's merc healers pretty much balanced the race out.

Made the dumb mistake of NOT turning in the royal crest from Captain Slarus first...so pretty much screwed myself. We'll do it again tomorrow, and do the sequence correctly so we get the drop, etc.

Not sure what advice I can give on getting Captain Slarus and his royal guards. My druid and cleric, along with my hefty merc tank played them down pretty well. The druid died (for doing dumb AE nukes), but I really cut my hand off when I brought the druid back to his bind before the tank had a chance to finish the last one or two mobs. Dumb, dumb, dumb. My cleric stood there alone and was eaten in just a couple seconds. They are tough little buggers....but the bottom line is, a good tank, a good healer, and a smart dotter might make the grade.

This related tasks should include the final task (Kill the Queen of the Harpies!), which is given by the same NPC.

Duo'd this with a 75 mage (me being a 65 druid) Mage sent in pet and I AE snared the guards and then rooted them down the hill. Then just healed the pet while she burned the captain down.

After that we killed the guards and handed in. Took about 10 minutes total.

did this quest from start to finish 10/25 and after an intial wipe of 5 70+'s we decided to take a mini raid of 70+ to kill the queen (believe there was about 2 grps with a couple standbyer's if needed)..she was []even con to 71[/], HT'd, summoned and had about 10 guards surrounding her..she isn't snareable or rootable, she quaded for about 2500 a hit..so if you plan to do this quest make sure to take lots of friends for the killing of her and guards or you'll never get this done..also she and guards []SEE INVIS[/] so watch your step

I got up to the Kill Capt. Slarus quest solo in about an hour.. I approached Slarus and her guards, none of them saw me. All where light blue at 71. None saw invis.

I walked over and stepped on the nest and got teleported to the palace level, even though I hadn't finish the Slarus quest. There was a griffon in the yard who couldn't see invis. I approached the palace and opened the door. The queen was right inside the door and saw through invis. She immediately attacked me. I backed up to try and root her, but backed onto the nest and got ported back to Slarus and the royal guard. They immediately attacked me. Slarus' max hit on me was 2200 and some change. The guards hit for mid 100's. I died, and as I was looking through my log, I saw that I kept getting an emote saying that a trick had been played on me.
