Find Librarian Hemfar on the first floor of Crescent Reach.

You say, 'Hail, Librarian Hemfar'

Librarian Hemfar says 'Vasha, friend. I am the second-born of Keikolin the Enlightened, the most knowledgeable dragon of the Six. I am to aid in the education of drakkin and all who choose to enlighten their minds. I am a collector of artifacts and one of the founders of the Written Word and the Wanderlust Guild so we may learn from books and life. I have a unique gift that you may partake in if you [aid] in my work. Or you may simply ask me what [lore] I have gathered from artifacts in these lands.

You say, 'Aid your work?'

Librarian Hemfar says 'Yes, indeed. I have been given a sight-gift from Lady Keikolin. In many artifacts I can see within them and through the eyes of those they belonged to. It allows me to create a history that will become part of this library. Should you find any artifacts in the surrounding lands, bring them to me and I shall reward you and be able to add to the [volumes] of our great library.'

You say, 'What volumes?'

Librarian Hemfar says 'There are many creatures present and past that lived in these mountains, including the ogres that once lived in this very city. What exactly happened to them and their kind is somewhat of a mystery, but given time and the right artifacts, we shall learn more. I can reward you if you bring artifacts to me. Then, you may ask what [lore] and legend is available as people bring me artifacts and I can share the history with you when it is scribed.'

This is an ongoing quest to upgrade the charm, Serpent Seeker's Charm of Lore. After handing in at least five of the required items, you "get an option that looks like it's the same old exp, but click the option and it shows charm as reward".

As you hand in each of the following items from around the Serpent's Spine, the charm will increase in strength. It is not known which items boost stats, or how many are required for each increase. There does not appear to be any particular requirement for order, either. These are the items known to be involved. There are probably many more.

I also believe there are 2 (maybe 3) more titles that can be gained by completing the Frostcrypt and Ashengate parts.

not too bad stats i spose.. maybe i will do it for my alts as i have been extremely bored lately

you say 2 for direwind but it's really only 1 isnt it? If you're considering the "non raid" parts.

1 is groupable, the other is raid, from severan?
also the oblivion core is raid drop,
so really only 28 out of 37 parts of this are Non-raid material, correct me if i'm wrong

Ok....

On my lvl 11 Drakkin Monk, I hailed this guy, went through all the text prompts. I even gave him the linguist's notes from the Inn upstairs.

Despite all of this, I do not actually have any kind of quest/task/mission showing in my quest window.

Does it not provide one?

You will not recieve a task / quest on this. You just find the items and turn them in. After the 5th turn in, you will recieve the charm with min stats.
complete list?
# May 16 2007 at 2:32 PM Rating: Decent
Does anyone have all of the parts mentioned here? and know if it seems there are even more?

When running magelo update you can see how much you need still(%-wise).

From the list above, i still need 11 items, mostly raid stuff. So if the list is complete i assume the raid drops adds more to the charm than the rest, cause my charm is currently at 50% completed.

Talking with a friend who has completed this & comaring it to my own progress, I think I figured out how the upgrading works.

It seems that the upgrade is based on how many items you have handed in regardless of which items they were. The first several hand ins will each be worth 1% then some will be worth 2% then others will be 3% etc. The final Hand in (#37) jumped my friend from 415 HPs to the full 495, yet I handed in the same item (my 28th) and only gained 15 HPs.

Charm is better than before
# Mar 15 2007 at 8:04 PM Rating: Decent
After the release of TBS expansion, they increased the stats of the TSS charm since a decent amt is raid required to see full stats. My stats on charm jumped by 70+ hp/mana/end. Also they added Avoidance and Stun resist. These r recent changes and what is posted now as max stats is now not the case, they r in fact much higher. I recently turned in a mob drop item and had +8 to hp/mana/end and +1 to all stats. made it 230 with a +48 hp/mana/end aug.

Avoidance +4 and Stun resist +2% were added to my charm when they did the update. Cant say when they will show up, though i think a friend that was doing it might have gotten avoidance +1 after 7 or 8 turn-ins or even the minimum 5? But my friend was seeing stats of 68 hp/mana/end and was just turning in the ground spawns and very little actual mob drops, maybe one or two cant remember right now.

As of right now, the charm is worth getting since those max stats might just be what it is without raids. So if ur guild is raiding those targets ur gonna get a much more impressive charm.

I have every ground spawn, the quested item, the 4 of the drops (burly hill giant, Azza, Daradune, and Doomfount) and my charm is now 10 AC, 182 HME, 10 stats, 6 ATK, 1 R and MR, 4 Avoidance, and 2% stun resist, going up at increasing itervals. I'm guessing it will go over 200HME if I can get Sulfurog to spawn, which is hard since I am not certain where his spawnpoint is.

Speaking of, can anyone give me a verified spawn point of him?

I'm pretty sure that any of the oozes in the NW corner of Sunderrock can be his PH. I've seen him in several different locations and just killed as many of the oozes as I could and then let them respawn until Sulfurog finally popped for me.
Stats at differant Levels
# Feb 26 2007 at 9:58 PM Rating: Decent
I have done this with a few alts, at lvl 74 and 75, after turning in 18 items I get 134hp/mana plus other stats, but at lvl 62 and 61, after tuning in 18 items I only get 108hp/mana (This is with out the aug quest). Does any one know if the item will increase in stats when you level, or will you be stuck with a lessor reward if you do at a lower lvl? (or mabye will jump to higher stats as you turn in itmes at a higher lvl?)

Seems to me this quest isn't even worth doing. I have 3 tradeskills over 200 and thats only because I haven't invested aa's to bring the others I can over 200 skill. My point is, a finished artisan charm and tsing (sure takes time but hey its called everquest right?) my others to max gives me a comparable charm with 2 AUG SLOTS. Which are a perfect fit for both my wanderlust and slipgear augs. That makes the artisan charm more valuable and viable imho.
Trinket of the Scale info
# Feb 22 2007 at 11:46 AM Rating: Decent
Mob that drops the Trinket of the Scale is Dranadune (named drake by the geyser), not Daradune. Not sure if there is such a named mob as Daradune. But Dranadune definitely just dropped it.

Just an FYI...

Magmaraug

I've tried in Ashengate for hours to get Magmaraug, but can't find him. Been killing the oozes in Sothgar's room and around that area. Nothing for hours. If anyone has some info that would rock.

Also, my charm gained about 125hp/m/end today with patch. Have Lethar 2.0 and several other high end pieces though.
Magmaraug
# Feb 21 2007 at 10:06 PM Rating: Decent
Magmaraug spawns past the Galvanized Guardian in the Deep West...just above the Avatar of Ash and just below The Unspeakable...you have to go west past Agril then keep going up until you can't anymore go through the hole on the wall lev around the room to the other side, float down and enter the crack of the upside down V doorway and u shouldn't aggro anything in the room then fight your way past the fire elemental area to the next hallway keep going it'll take you around until you get to another part with a bunch of goos and dervishes and lev down to the second level he should spawn in that area if you keep killing goos
Magmaraug
# Feb 21 2007 at 11:11 PM Rating: Decent
Alright, so your saying kill inbetween Galvanized Guardian camp and Arbitor of Ash? I know there are two oozes right before you levitate down to Arbitor of Ash. So will try killing them then. As I cleared Sothgar's room and Arbitor of Ash's room five times today with no luck and bunch of rotting earrings.
Magmaraug
# Mar 08 2007 at 8:42 AM Rating: Decent
The PH for Magmarug is the lowest platform containing 2 goo's. One is pathing, the other static, the PH is the static one. About the only camp spot for that area is the empty platform that is somewhat connected to this named location, you'll see a rock that sorta gives you a ramp to climb up onto it. Can pull the goo's and even the dervs below up to this location, just beware as they DO warp extremely bad, so your puller needs to walk the mobs up by hand. Also, be levitating, the platform is slippery and you won't get a cast off if you're not lev.
