Find Wraithguard Thentil Strongarm in Valdeholm at location -1510, -1070, 85.
This task is requestable at dubious faction. (possibly lower, though we need confirmation) You say, 'Hail Wraithguard Thentil Strongarm' Wraithguard Thentil Strongarm says 'What brings you to these forsaken peaks? My people are fighting a losing battle against the shades of our own fallen kin. We lack even the [supplies] and [new weapons] to stage a proper defense.' You say, 'Supplies?' Wraithguard Thentil Strongarm says, 'We draw most of our resources from the surrounding glaciers. Any of you can gather would be much appreciated.' You have been assigned the task 'Armor Supplies'. Deliver 4 Icefall Grizzly Pelts to Wraithguard Thentil Strongarm 0/4 Valdeholm Hand in four Icefall Grizzly Pelts that drop from cave bears in Icefall Glacier and pick your reward, a wrist armor piece depending on your class. These hides should last Thentil for at least a short time. Undoubtedly he will be running low again by tomorrow though. first i got the find the ing task from the bine giant shade in Frostcrypt and handed that in
THEN
i collected maybe 20 grizzly hides (in IF) (5 turn ins)
and 32 tusks (IF and vald mamms) 8 turn ins and got a slight faction increase
i am working hard at this daily and am currentyl up to WARMLY
let it be knwo though 1 drop in 22 mobs is not very nic e

Tried this quest for an alt. Got eight Grizzly Skins and did the turnins but received no faction. I can't check the Elephant/tusk reward to see if I receive faction because it's greyed out. Suddenly, I feel very sad.

I was there today as a iksar necro. I have never killed in this zone and I hadn't barely killed in tss. But when my invis wore off, i had like 15 mobs on me. I once did this quest as a halfling ranger and never had the faction problem. I also have herd same thing about druids. I'm wondering if shrouding as rog and doing the quest while hiding or something might help. makes me indiff. there must be a way.

I'm wondering if lvl 68 is high enough to do this quest...........??? also wondering what i can do besides kill in frostcrypt to build faction with these guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i cant do anymore quests in here cuz i need dubious faction with all ...... i only have indifferent

indifferent faction is higher than dubious. If all you need is dubious faction then you dont need to worry about getting more :)
As for if 68 is high enough .. the reward is required 66 so i would assume the answer is yes. However this is sony's EQ so logic need not apply :P

I requested this task with my druid and received it. No previous faction with him.
Looted 8 pelts in Icefall. Turned in 4 and received bracer. Asked for and received the second quest and immediately got my second bracer. Hope this helps

My 62.45 alt could not get the task. After /say Supplies, Thentil said: "Sorry ___, I don't have anything for someone with your abilities." This was my first time in zone with this alt so I was dubious to both factons.
Did they change the Mimimum level to get the task?

My sister received this same message and she was lvl 71 with dubious faction. Turns out that she already had the quest in her journal, but it had been such a long time since she got it that she forgot it was there.

it seems so fundamental what people need, yet it was ot here until now: cross the bridge at zone entry, run to loc negative 1750 , zero, zero, and turn due EAST, run up the icehhill tothe door at loc 1750, 1000. open door i got it at dubious, If this was helpful please post a rating.

I tried to get this task yesterday...after hailing Strongarm and /say Supplies I received the proper response..."We draw most of our resources...." but was not given the actual task. Has anyone else had this happen? Any suggestions?

Very generous quest, indeed. These bracers are superior to Qvic quest bracers, which essentially take a raid force (or at least multi-group, usually) to kill the mob and winning the /random roll, not to mention having to get flagged for the zone, or at least be gimped into the zone by accomodating friends or guildmates.

Upon turn in, you are provided with options (plate class being first) in a small window where you don't see class info on the bracer. Go slow and pick the right option for your class (make the window bigger). I lost some pelts getting in a hurry my first time through.

why does this quest say doable at 61 solo, whent he mobs are 70+ and the bracer is 66 req and 73 rec? that doesnt add up, maybe a really really good group of 61s, but not a lvl 61 solo. and the pelts are rarer than heck btw

It doesn't say "soloable" is says "solo", as in "not a group quest". If you had a group of 6 who wanted to do this, each group member would need to hail the NPC, get the quest, and loot the pelts individually.

.... is doable as dubious even after killing a dozen giants. Before you plan your trip to Frostcrypt make sure you are NOT trying to get the quest from the guy in the pit at the FC zoneline (by stairs). I missed that part in the info here. Quest mob is Northest across the bridge in a building (locs are here).

had enough faction..kindly i think to get the bracer task again. so you can have 2 of these if ya need :)
I got and completed the task at level 61.
In fact I got both supply tasks from Thentil at that level but the tusks are only for faction and won't matter to me for a long time.

Alright, i just finished the quest, did the turn in, but didnot know i had to choose the bracer specific to my class. I figured the giant would have been smart enough to figure out which bracer i needed. I was wrong. Does anybody know how i can get right bracer. Ive tried giving the wrong one back but he wont accept and ive tried to see if hed give me the quest again, and he would. Can someone help me out on this one?

You need to /petition it. A lot of people did that and so CS is being really helpful about it.

If you completed the quest and you didn't receive a reward, then the problem is most likely your UI. Switch to the default UI and click on your EQ button - Quests - Rewards. Your reward window should then pop up, and give you the option to select your bracer. I was using a custom UI and couldn't open my reward window.
Secondly, if Thentil won't talk to you when you hail him, try just typing saying 'supplies'. I know with some quests you can't initiate proper dialogue without faction, but if you just type the final message you'll get the quest. 'Tree Heaven' was this way.

oK I did this quest today and did not receove the reward. I clicked options and chose default UI. Then on the little box named "EQ" I clicked on it ---> quests ---> rewards and whallla I got my bracer!

Did this quest today on 10-23-06 and was bugged! i turned in my pelts and i get the message that I have completed the quest but no bracer!!! this blows anyone else have this problem?
