Scout Madu says 'Well met traveler. I have been asked to keep an eye on this area and to attempt to reduce any threats to Crescent Reach that might arise. I can always use someone that has the will to attempt dangerous scouting missions, if you're able to deal with the [unusual folk] that live in these parts.'

You say, 'What unusual folk?'

Scout Madu says 'It was the oddest thing. This fellow I don't know, one with the legs of a deer and the face of a human, stumbled into me the other day. And I mean stumbled literally. It seems that he had been very deep in his cups. He kept rambling on about his brother betraying him, but I never could get more out of him before he wandered off. How odd of him. Sorry, I do not know why you made me think of him, you obviously have your [wits] about you.'

You say, 'I have my wits about me.'

Scout Madu says 'Yes. Yes you do. If you would like to explore the area, I'm certain that Vulu over there has some work for you. But if you're looking for something more interesting than just wandering around, I might have some [tasks] that are a bit more dangerous that you could undertake for me.'

You say, 'What tasks?'

Scout Madu says 'I have many tasks available, but most of them require that you have much experience. When you think you are ready, come back to me and ask me about my more [difficult] tasks. In the meantime I have some tasks for ones with less experience, and I will even reward ones who help me with some [extra armor].'

You say, 'What extra armor?'

Scout Madu says 'I have extra armor that has been given to me for scouts of this region. If you wish, I can share some of this armor with you. I have armor that will cover your [forearms], [feet], [hands], [head], [arms], [legs], or [torso]. Which would you like to get? I will only give you one piece to fit each place on your body as we do not have an infinite amount of supplies, even with the supplies you will be getting me.'

You say, 'Arms.'

Scout Madu says 'We have gotten low on certain supplies. Can you go out and gather some for me?'

As some others have remarked earlier, getting 3 Snake Fangs is the hardest purely on their rarity.

"a mesa snake"s area is in the south east of the zone. When you zone in from Blightfire Moors, follow the river and cross the 1st bridge. Carry on traveling directly to the east and you will see 1st bunch of mesa snakes. There is a Tuffein guard camp nearby and those guards aggro'd on me so be careful. There are some among them who will not as they are on a different faction, but guards willl aggro and if you kill them you lose Tuffein related factions.

Anyway, starting from that first batch of mesa snakes (/loc -1400 -300), you want to farm all mesa snakes northward, between the valley into the open plains where napaea protectors/maidens live. I don't know who they are, but they were indifferent to me so I left them alone. It's good because you can mindlessly go after the snakes without worrying about adds.

I started this entire quest around 3pm real time and got 3 fangs by 9pm by constant farming. 3 fangs probably amount to 5 hours of all that (with cigarette break in between), so I suspect if you get 1 fang to drop every hour, I would say you did quite well. So expect to spend 3+ hours farming them.

Confirmed, at 39th level i was not able to get this quest.
at 40th level, i can get the quest, even though the reward is not usable til 45th.

The droprate on the Snake Fangs suck! I got everything else in a few hours... im on my second day of camping these fangs and out of 3 I still have Zero!

I've been killing these guys for about an hour now, and they've dropped almost everything BUT snake fangs. I got 3 snake skins on my first drop and two on the second, so that part was out of the way, and gotten about 10 LARGE snake fangs... so this quest is going VERY slow for me... you'd think the larger fangs would be harder to get...

Just a side note, LARGE snake fangs don't work, you don't need to make the kills and it won't update if the items don't come from the proper mobs; ie Cave Recluse vs Mesa Recuse

Kind of a bummer. I'm guessing SK is similar to Pally as far as the special bonus (Regen/Mana Regen/Attack/Damage Shield). The level 20 version of this armor had FT1 and was hoping the upgrade would as well.

you will recieve a class specific reward upon turn in.
as far as i can tell no need to make the kills? for this quest,just get the quest first then all you need to do is loot the items and do turn in.
